Guess Where I Was Friday Night...

For those of you who either live in a hole, or don't read my blog regularly, Twilight was released on DVD yesterday. Noelle, Odum, Auri and I had planned to go to a midnight release party to get copies for ourselves. Yes, we're pathetic. We are aware of this face, and are readily willing to admit to it. Noelle's niece, Mimi, joined us, but Auri was unable to come becuase of exhaustion. I am totally sympathetic, but I'm bummed that she missed out. We started out at El Chihuahua for dinner and drinks, and then the rest of the evening was up for suggestions as to the remainder of the schedule. Noelle, Odum, Mimi and I had dinner and then were going to head to Auri's to pick her up. Since she decided not to come, we went over to Diva's for a cup of coffee and cupcakes. We hung out until 10, and then got in the car and started driving. We headed toward the avenues for the Blockbuster there figuring it would be the least busy. Well, lo and behold, we were the only car in the parking lot. Literally. After we sat around and laughed at ourselves for 20 minutes and changed parking places three times, Noelle finally went in and asked if they were having a party. The dude said yes, but from midnight to 1 AM. Um, hello, everything online said the parties were from 10 to midnight... hmmm... Whatevs!

After deliberating in the car for a while, we decided to grab Rose and drive over to 21st and 7th to see if anything slightly more exciting was happening at the Blockbuster over there. Once we got there, we realized that there was an FYE next to Blockbuster and they were having a party as well... so we decided to join in their festivities instead. We pre-paid for our copies and then hung around the store for 45 minutes until the DVDs were released at midnight. When midnight hit, then we had to wait in line to get our copies. I think we were there until about 12:30... and by the time we left, we were exhausted and delirious. At one point, Noelle was violating Odum and I with a display rack hook. That's how silly we got.
We had to drop off Rose, then Mimi, and then drive back to Noelle's to get my car. Then Odum and I had to drive home. Good thing he and I live essentially across the street from each other. I really wanted to go home and watch the movie but I didn't think I'd last that long, seeing as how I got home at 1:30ish. I got in bed and watched the deleted scenes and the extended scenes, and then turned on the movie. I lasted until the car crash scene, and then I was toast. My eyes were rolling back in my head and I figured it was time to turn off the TV and go to sleep!
I didn't have time to watch the movie yesterday because it was Paul and Brittany's wedding.... so hopefully, I can stay awake tonight long enough to watch it. If not, I may start having withdrawal symptoms...

You should have gone to the Walmart in Riverton. It was a mad house and Victoria was there signing autographs. For some reason, I thought you would be there. Sounds like you still had fun!

The hook was there and you two were asking for it! We needed some form of entertainment to distract ourselves from the two obnoxious tween's rolling under the effin racks!

I got my movie Friday afternoon from Amazon. I love pre-ordering. Glad you had a good time. :)

I bought mine at Target, since it came with a 3rd bonus DVD. I loved the 2nd DVD with all the deleted scenes, production tape, etc. And, like you, I can't stop listening to the soundtrack. I am amazed I haven't gotten sick of it yet-I have a copy in my car, on my computer at work and in my stereo at home. Pretty much non stop. I love it!

Kristen - I didn't want to deal with all the screaming crazy people at WalMart... plus I didn't want to drive to Riverton. And since I have issues with "Victoria" I didn't care if I saw her or not! I'm assuming that's where you ended up???

Jaime - As of last night, I only had watched it 1.5 times. I had a crazy-busy weekend.

Noelle - No I was not asking for it! You are just mean! But yes, it was very entertaining!

Aurs - You know where to find me... ha ha ha. Sorry I've been so busy!

SB - I was worried if I pre-ordered it I wouldn't get it for a week. I guess they ship it early so you get it the day it comes out?

Elisha - I may have to go buy that version now! It's only $18... and that way I can have it on my iPod, too! Hmmm... not a bad idea!
