Breaking Dawn, Cigarettes, Gay Men & Music

OMG!!! I just realized I need to go and buy GQ. I haven't gotten it yet. What was I thinking? I think it's funny that I buy GQ for the hot men.... and because it's a magazine for dudes. Oh well, whatevs! I generally don't condone smoking... ok, I never condone smoking, but hot damn, tell me that he doesn't look sexy. If you do, you're lying. Every picture I've seen of him with a cigarette in his mouth is just so wrong... but oh so right! And I realize I'm not catering to the needs of my few male readers (so I'm sorry for that) but I have to indulge my obsession. Just bear with me.Moving right along... Here comes my review of Breaking Dawn. I can't believe how long it took me to finish it! I really honestly think I was trying to avoid it ending, so I just putzed along at a leisurely pace for a week or so. I finally finished it on Monday night and have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the ending. A lot of people have said they were disappointed by it. I wasn't. Yes, it was a bit rushed, but I don't think anything was left open. All the loose ends were tied up and knotted off and I am now content. Through about the last 50 pages of the book I just cried. There were twists and turns and I didn't know what to expect, so I just sat in the living room with tears rolling down my cheeks and read. I'm not going to say any more about it for those of you who haven't yet (and are planning to) read it. Just know that I loved it!In other news, Twilight comes out at Midnight on Saturday. So, I'm going to stand in line with all of the other crazed women (and a few men, like Odum) to buy it. I can't wait. To have Edward within my reach at all times will be pure heaven. And I wonder why I'm single! Maybe because all men in this town are either married, gay or mormon... or married, gay and mormon. It happens. Look at Auri... I digress.... Speaking of gay... why the hell is it that gay men try to lay claim to every up and coming sexy/hot/irresistible actor these days? Don't you guys have enough hot men to drool over? Can't you just be content and let us women have a few of our own hotties to fawn over? Every time I mention the name of a hot actor to Tom, the first thing out of his mouth is, "Oh, well, he's gay," whether or not it's the truth. At this point, he just does it to piss me off. Just for the record, RPattz. is. not. gay! And if he is, I will jump off a cliff. Yes, I'm serious.

I absolutely love this picture and his crazy, sex-hair! He's hot. I can't get over it. I think I'm going to internally combust!

Ok, well since this has turned into another totally random post, I'll continue on with some musings on music. Have y'all heard the new song by Kinds of Leon called "Sex On Fire"? It's been all over the radio lately and I love it. I'm surprised I've heard it at all because I've been listening to the Twilight Soundtrack incessantly for the last few weeks. And the Captain (who is an unbiased man) can attest to the fact that there is actually great music on it! The weird thing is, every time I hear the song, a certain piece of my soul is tugged at, and for the first little while, I couldn't figure out why (I guess this is where the term "emo" comes from).

Then it occured to me... The first few times I had heard the song was while I was reading New Moon. If you recall, that book is an all-out fest of angst, pain, and suffering. And when I read it, I swear to you, I felt every emotion that Bella did. I guess it's how most people read... imagining yourself as the main character. Anyway...now whenever I hear the song, I get a little twinge in my tummy and have to remind myself why. I know it's weird, but I'm a strange cookie, so I guess it works. Once again, I'm amazed by the power music holds over me. I guess this is enough rambling for one day. I may have more for you later...
