There's a Bird Flying Through the Terminal

This day isn't necessarily off to a good start...

I had to take a cab from my hotel to the airport and asked the dude at the front desk to call one for me. I should have called the guy that picked me up last week... This lady was on her phone when she got there, got out of the car but didn't help me with my bags (which was ok b/c she was kind of old and I felt bad for her), and continued to yell at the person she was on the phone with for the next five minutes after I got in..

The best part? She'd been smoking (probably since the day she crawled out of the womb), and there was a still-smoldering cigarette in the cab. And now? I stink. Awesome. I get to go the rest of the day smelling like ass. Wonderful.
Moving on to a totally unrelated subject... Are any of you watching SYTYCD? I don't love the new stage and setup, but I'm loving how they've mixed things up this season. It's been really fun seeing the "All Stars" from past seasons come back. And can I just tell you, I love, love, love Lauren. The girl is AMAZING! All the guys are really great, too, but damn, can that girl shake her booty!

I'm flying home today and I get to spend a whole 2.25 days at home. Monday morning, it's right back to 'Bama. Lucky me. But, before I get home, I have a 3 hour layover in Dallas. I have a one-day pass to the Admiral's Club and I plan on putting it to good use! I guess the fact that I finally achieved Medallion status with Delta is good, as well. Too bad I'm flying on American this afternoon! Oh well. Pretty soon I'll have enough miles for a ticket to Hawaii. Who wants to go?
Jasper aka Jackson Rathbone in Italian Vogue
I've always thought the man was kind of cute, but damn, he looks sexy in this photo!
I stole this pic from a friend's FB page. Isn't it adorable? That's Aurs and Callie the night of the Eclipse premiere. I love it! Anyway, sorry for the random and the bitching, but that's what you get from me on a Friday afternoon in 'Bama! I hope y'all have a great weekend!!!

By the way, there's a bird in here and I feel really badly that he can't escape!

Random Tuesdayness - Um... Yeah

randomtuesdayIt's Tuesday... apparently I missed a week in there somewhere... actually, I know I missed RTT last week and I felt horribly guilty for it, but I'm back now, I think. If you want to play, go talk to Keely.Well hey kids, how the hell have y'all been? Sorry for my sabbatical. Colon troubles can really cause a lot of problems, let me be the first to tell ya. And seriously, if you need a colonoscopy, don't put it off. It's not bad at all. The actual procedure, that is. The worst part is the fact that you have to stay near a toilet for 24 hours and may or may not end up nauseous for the duration of the evacuation process. And if you have to get on a plane during any of that time, I seriously advise against it. IT'S NOT FUN!

I bought blinds for the house yesterday. That's one thing you don't realize you have to worry about when you move into a brand new house. I got 6 blinds and have 2 or 3 left to buy. I'm already over $250 into it! I also got all the stuff for Zak's bathroom. I hope he likes it. If not, tough shit!
I went to see A Chorus Line with my grandma on Friday night at Pioneer Theater on the University of Utah campus. All the performers did a great job... I was only slightly disappointed by the dancing... I guess my expectations have been set high with SYTYCD, but we had a good time.

I'm back in Alabama this week and I don't really want to be here. At least I didn't get delayed on my way here. Now let's pray all of my flights back work as well.
Did anyone see Entourage on Sunday? Holy hell! I can't believe it. I won't give anything away because Auri hasn't seen it, and I'm sure there are a ton of others who haven't either. I like that there weren't any MAJOR cliffhangers and that a lot of questions got answered... but I'm still in shock!

What else.... closing on the house next week. I'm kind of freaking out... a lot. I haven't moved in 15 years and I have a feeling I'm going to have a bit of an ongoing panic attack for the next month.I gotta cut this short... It's midnight here and I need to get to bed. Have to be up in 6 hours, which is like starting at 5 AM my time. I'll be a good blogger this week and be back to entertain you. Maybe even a vlog!

Oh, and I finished Breaking Dawn for the 2nd time last night. I had forgotten so many of the little things. I love that about reading a book again... picking up all the things I missed before, or forgot about. I also just finished The Goddess Rules by Clare Naylor. Such a cute book. I love Clare Naylor and this book didn't disappoint at all. I definitely recommend it!
How long 'til November 20th??? I can't wait much longer!!! Ok, hope y'all have a fab Tuesday and I'll chat with you soon!

I Don't Have Much...

How is it that my glasses, while sitting nicely on my face, get so freaking dirty? It's not like I'm rubbing my eyes through the lenses...

I'm still sick. I stayed home from work today. I went to bed at midnight and got out of bed at 2 PM. If I could do that every day, I'd be in heaven!

I'm sick of blowing my nose. It's raw. And I'm running out of Kleenexes. But if you put chapstick on it, it helps. I know it's weird, but trust me on this one.I am more than thrilled that Jeanine won SYTYCD last week! She is amazing. I voted for her!

Did you guys hear about the jewelry heist in London yesterday? Holy shit. They got away with like $68 million in jewels! And it was in effing broad daylight!

I have an awesome HLP (heterosexual life partner)... Auri... you may know her from Mistress Auri. She brought me a Jamba Juice today. She rocks. Remind me to tell you about the HLP thing. There's a story behind it.
And now I'm just rambling, so I'll take off. I'll try to be back tomorrow with more substance. Oh, and don't forget to enter my contest for that super cute serving bowl!

Random Tuesdayness - Where the Hell Have I Been?

randomtuesday
Welcome to Tuesday and and all its (my) Random Thoughts. Random Tuesday's' sole purpose is to provide us bloggers with an outlet to gather all the randomness that is floating around in our heads and include it in a post about nothing in particular. And if that didn't make any sense, I accomplished my goal. If you'd like a more clear explanation, go visit Keely at The Un Mom and she'll tell you what to do.

I'm currently sitting in a meeting where we're reviewing approximately 200 items. We started 12 minutes ago. We're still discussing #1. It's gonna be a long morning and this is already the 2nd meeting of the day!

My dad came home last night and said to my mom, "Did you tell Erica what we talked about earlier?" My mom said, "No." I still don't know what they talked about... and I don't really want to know because I have a feeling it's going to piss me off.

On Friday night, Auri had a birthday party for Taryn and she had a blast. Here are some pics!
She is officially now, a Princess in Training (PIT) My good friend Angie and her little one Taryn and her new Piggy Bank (it's fuzzy!)

I took Taryn to see a G Force for her birthday. I have a little tradition I started with the kids where I take them on a "date" for their birthdays and it's pretty fun. I didn't love the movie, but I did end up missing at least 20 minutes of it due to "I need to go potty," being said 187456 times. That may have had something to do with it.Can I just say that I absolutely love the storyline between Jessica and Hoyt on True Blood? I can? Good. Because I do. I love it. It may be the hopeless romantic in me, but I don't care. I think it's cute and I hope they stay together!

Now I'm back at my regular office and let me tell you, getting here was quite the struggle. It's hard to drive when you can't keep your eyes open, ya know!? I really need to work on getting more sleep at night.

Seriously, is it nap time yet? I don't know if any of you DON'T know this yet, but Rachelle Lefevre is not going to play Victoria in the upcoming Eclipse movie. She was recast and replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard, and I'm kinda pissed about the whole thing. The only good thing that can come out of it is that I think the other chick looks more vampish and evil, so it might work.

On Saturday night I went to dinner with the girls at Biaggi's... it was yummy! We were thinking to do something afterward but Noelle got a call that her dog was injured so she had to go home. I ended up meeting Auri and Jessica at my house at 11, and we watched TiVo'ed episodes of SYTYCD and Entourage until 3 AM! It was fun though!

I have to say, I'm pretty pissed about the fact that Evan is one of the final four. Seriously, people?! Ade is a much better all-around dancer! Oh well... just goes to prove that your personality will get you far in life!

Remember the new diffuser I bought? Well I took it with me to my stylist on Saturday to get my hair done and it turned out really well. I did my hair with it again this morning and didn't get quite the same results. What the hell, man? I think it's gonna take a little getting used to, but I think it's a good thing thus far. The misting spray I got is awesome and I'd definitely recommend it!

According to the countdown, there are only 107 days left until New Moon comes out. I hope you all know I'm planning on standing in line at Midnight to see it. God help us all if I happen to be out of town for work that week!

Speaking of which, I'm going to start traveling for work soon and I'm pretty excited about it. I just wish it would happen already. I also wish I knew where I'll be going because as of right now, it's all up in the air!

Well, I hope you enjoyed this week's edition of RTT. If not, try back tomorrow. Maybe you'll find something you like!

Friday Catch Up

Ok, so less like a catch up, more like a random post... but that's just how I roll. I've got a few posts in the works... primarily the one about my trip to Torrey, Utah, last weekend. Plus, I'm going to be the featured guest blogger over on PinkNic's Planet tomorrow, so go check me out!
Did I mention that I found a condo this week? Probably not. But I did. And it's really cute. And it's $30,000 less than the townhouse I liked in the same complex. I'm going with my realtor at 3:30 to the design center to check out the options for flooring, cabinets, countertops and all the other possiblities of upgrades. I'm excited and extremely nervous! These are pics of the condo... it's been staged, obviously, but I think it's adorable... how about you?
I had some connection issues this morning and didn't get online like I wanted to last night so I'm a bit behind in my reading of my favorite blogs. I'll get to you all this afternoon, I hope!

My BFF Noelle wrote a really cute post about our trip. You should go read it.

Oh, and I want to say hi, hello, how are you? to all my new readers. Thanks for stopping by and thinking I'm interesting enough to follow! I totally appreciate it!

If you love SYTYCD as much as I do and you don't know who got booted off last night, this is going to be a spoiler, so quit reading now if you don't want to know yet. I'm extremely pissed off that Kupono got sent home. He is such an amazingly beautiful, gracious and entertaining dancer, he did not deserve to go home. It should have been Evan last night and I couldn't be any more angry! I'm not really surprised about Randi, even though she's a Utah girl and I gotta support her, I'm not angry about it. Whatever people! And, I voted, so I can bitch!

SYTYCD, OMG!

Aurs came over last night and we watched So You Think You Can Dance. We watched all the dances from last week (oh, the pleasure of TiVo) and a few of my favorite moments from a couple other episodes. Last week's show was amazing, as was this week's, and I'm nervous to see who gets kicked off tonight.

Kayla and Kupono's piece from last week honestly made me cry. It was amazing. Mia Michaels choreographed it and the music was Sara Bareilles' song Gravity. Wow. Wow... This was their dance from the previous week choreographed by Sonya Tayeh to Blue Foundation's song Eyes on Fire (from the Twilight soundtrack).... kind of a vampire-esque number. Loved it! And I love the two of them as a couple!
In the beginning, I didn't really like Melissa all that much... she's definitely grown on me over the weeks. And Ade is just awesome!Initially I was bummed that Philip got booted, but after seeing Jeanine and Jason's dance last night, I couldn't be happier. Their partners (Philip and Caitlin who both got sent home last week) were holding them back. Together, they're unbelievable! I couldn't find a pic of them from last night, sorry! My friend Candace and I were IM'ing each other while watching it last night... we were all a little emotional after watching them dance!
Evan and Randi's "Butt Dance" was sooo unbelievably cute. It was choreographed by Mia, but I can't remember the song she used. I loved it!
Brandon and Janette are absolutely amazing together. I'm sad they're not partners anymore, but they're both so great as individuals, I think I'll get over it.
This number was so much fun! Rock 'n' Roll vs. Hip Hop!
And their Cha-Cha was on fire!
I hope the tour comes to Salt Lake again this year.... I'm definitely going this time!

Random Tuesdayness - Not So Random

randomtuesdayGood Hell, is it already Tuesday again? Damnit, where does the time go? I don't know, either. If you like the random, go visit The Un Mom for all the rules and regulations, and grab her button while you're at it. You'll both like it, I promise....

Anyway, welcome to the 283rd edition of Random Tuesdayness. Maybe it's more like the 17th installment or something. I don't know, I got sick of counting.

Remember how I told you my bro was in Malibu for the 4th? Yeah, well guess who came to the party? Reggie Miller (former NBA star), Topher Grace (from That '70s Show), Jeremy Piven (from Entourage) and Pamela Anderson, to name a few. I officially hate him now. He can suck it.
I bought the first season of True Blood and the fifth season of Entourage yesterday. Auri and I watched Entourage last night while we did toes. I either forgot, or didn't watch closely enough the episode where the boys go to Joshua Tree and take shrooms. We were laughing so hard.... I almost choked while taking a drink of water... not good. Anyway, if you haven't seen the show, you should. I love it.
I had a great weekend...
Thursday: went to the pool, got eyes checked, had moles removed
Friday: went to Auri's that night and hung out
Saturday: went to a party at Debbie & Marshall's, drank too much, puked early Sunday morning
Sunday: went to Maddie's going-away party (she's leaving for South Africa for a semester abroad)

This isn't turning out to be very random.

I think Auri and I are going to start doing toy reviews with the toys we currently have. If anyone wants to send us anything to review, go right ahead. We'll gladly take donations. Is there any interest from y'all? Let me know.

I am going down to Torrey this weekend and I'm so excited. We get to stay at The Rock House. I'm sure the name will make more sense after I've been inside it. Noelle bought a blow-up pool for us to lay out with as there is no air conditioning. I may die, but I'll be enjoying myself if I do. I'll be sure to document the trip and bring back pics and stories!

I have to pee...

I need a new laptop bag. I'm thinking of checking out REI... someone I saw at the office had a really cute one from there. Any suggestions? I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. So annoying.

My stitches are still itchy. I get them taken out on Thursday. I can't wait!
I'm in the middle of reading Eclipse again. Actually I'm almost done... but my hell, I love it even more the 2nd time around. I need, not want, but actually need a man like Edward in my life. I know everyone else does too, but I thought I'd put that out there.
Did anyone watch SYTYCD last week? If you didn't, find a way to watch it... or come over to my house and watch it with me. Kayla and Kupono were paired with Sonya Tayeh for their contemporary dance last week. The dance was a vampiric struggle between life and death and it was done to one of the songs from the Twilight Soundtrack, Eyes on Fire by Blue Foundation. I flipped out... it was awesome!

Get ready for a toe post, I've got one for you... it's coming up next!

The Hangover, SYTYCD, and Your Mom

Y'all are getting another totally random post today cuz I've got a lot of crap on my mind. Actually, it's more that I have a lot of small items to mention that won't require an entire post, so I'll throw them all together instead.

Yesterday was a totally crazy day... I had to make a list of everything I needed to accomplish because I couldn't remember it all... And I had to make sure it all got done. I am happy to report that I was able to cross them all off the list! Here it is:

*Mop the floor *Conference call *Return Dad's gift *Exchange faulty hair products *Refill prescriptions *Work *House hunt with Cathy *Work out *Buy Proactiv
I started mopping the floor at 8 PM and finished by 8:30, then had to dash out of the house to make it to the mall in time before it closed (the Proactiv kiosk is at the mall). I couldn't go another night without some semblance of hope for my naughty skin. It's seriously disgusting. I bought the starter pack of Proactiv and got the oil-free moisturizer with it. I seriously wanted to go straight home to wash my face and start my skin regimen but had to go to the gym first. I can honestly say that my skin feels really soft this morning. It hasn't cleared up, but that's not going to happen overnight. I think it even looked a little brighter and smoother after I did the mask and everything last night. It could also be the placebo effect, I guess I'll never know. I'll let you know how things shape up over the next few weeks.

Hmmm... what else? It's really irritating to me that I have like 900 gazillion things I want to mention, and when I sit down to write... nothing. It's so annoying! So I've started writing things down, but the stuff I have is for more significant posts and the stuff I was originally thinking about is much less exciting. One-liners, really.Oh, now I remember... I went to see The Hangover with Auri on Tuesday night. Oh. My. Hell! Tigers, chickens, naked Asian men, Roofies and a whole slew of other crap and you've got yourself a fantastically hilarious movie! We actually missed the first 10 or 15 minutes so I'll have to go see it again. Also due to the fact that I missed a lot of the dialogue because I was laughing so hard. Anyone? Anyone? By the way, does the dude on the left remind anyone of the picture of Auri the morning we went for brunch at the Bellagio?
SYTYCD was on last night and I went home and watched the TiVo'd version after the gym. I skipped most of the judges commentary, but since my friend Candace said Toni Basil sucked (one of the judges) I didn't feel too bad skipping it. Plus it was late and I didn't have excess amounts of time to watch all of the gratuitous fluff. I think my favorite dance of the night was Randi and Evan's Mia Michaels' Butt Dance. Like the judges said, only Mia can take something so insignificant (like a tushie) and turn it into a number that everyone will talk about for weeks! I can't find the video of it for you, but check it out if you can find it! Or come over and watch it on my TiVo!

I have to make dinner tonight and have no idea what to make. I'll be using chicken... any chicken recipes? I need them sooner than later!

I've only made it to the gym once this week, but am planning on going tonight and possibly tomorrow. I took a book with me last night and the bike ride went by surprisingly fast. I've got a lot of books I want to read this summer, so I think I'll kill two birds with one stone. Read and work out. Good plan! I'm currently in the middle of Eclipse (for the 2nd time) and Secret Diary of a Call Girl. I bought one of Jillian Michaels' books last year and have yet to read it. I'm adding that to my list as well. Guess I better find it first. I'll let you know how it is.

By the way, I really want to go see Transformers 2. Anyone care to join me in the next few days? I'm in movie mode right now... I'm not sure why. And why the hell is it so damn expensive to go to a movie... sheesh!

I went house hunting with my realtor and my dad yesterday. We only saw two places and neither of them were totally great. However, we did end up going back to look at the townhomes I looked at a few months ago in South Jordan. They're way over my budget but in a really great location. My dad is going to help me with a down payment, and if we can combine that with all of the tax credits and possible grants, I might be able to make it work. I still think I'd rather go with something a bit less expensive and work from there. That way my parents won't have to help me with as much down and my payments will be lower. I might go back out to look at Daybreak. Who knows... house hunting is so frustrating!

Ok, that's enough bitching for now. Gotta head out... I've got a doc appointment and then I'm going to sit at the pool for an hour with Noelle! After that, it's work work work, and mabye some more blogging!

Mary Can't Smile Because She's Had Botox

I originally titled this post "Dancing, Sex and Other Crap" but changed my mind...

And when I include Dancing & Sex in the same sentence, just know that I am NOT referring to the lame-ass dude who calls himself "Sex" who tries out for every reality show known to man. In fact, it pisses me off that I'm even talking about him...
I have a confession to make. I cheated last night. I watched SYTYCD without Auri or Jessica. I'm an asshole... I know. But it was the first real episode of the season and I just couldn't wait. And let me tell you, I am sooo happy I did it, because it was awesome! I had a hard time not calling to vote for each of the couples. Yes, they were that good.

BTW, the "Naughty Ballerina" chick needs to lose the naughtiness. Is she dancing on the show or starring in porn? The finger biting and simultaneous cock-eyed looks are growing old fast! She's a great dancer... go with that!

You want to know something? I love Adam Shankman. And if he weren't gay, I'd marry him. He has got to be the most complimentary judge they have on the show and I love that he freaked out after almost every dance last night. He was truly entertaining and had me cracking up for two hours straight. I think they should keep Nigel, Mary and Adam as the three judges and then add in a fourth guest judge every week. It would really spice things up. Especially since he always gives construtive criticism instead of ripping the dancers to shreds if they screw up.

I've got a problem with the fact that some of the contestants might have a bad week due to the luck of the draw. I'm referring specifically to the 2nd dance by Asuka & Vittorio. They picked a Broadway-style dance and were paired with Tyce Diorio who choreographed a dance that was pretty cute, but not great. I can't decide if it was the choreography or their performance that turned me off. Maybe it's the pairing of them as a couple. Who knows...

Ok, I think I'm done with that. I just have to say that this early on, I have no favorites, but I'm sure I'll develop a few... and I'll let you in on them when I decide. You can be sure I'll be talking about this weekly. Maybe I'll make my own meme called SYTYCD Thursday... ha!

And it really pisses me off that I can't find any pics of this season's contestants to use on here!

I was going to include some sex-talk in this post, but I think it deserves a post of its own... so I'll be back with that in a bit!
