Shit's goin' down and I forgot to pack my ruby slippers!
For some reason, I keep getting assigned to projects in states that have wind issues. I am absolutely terrified of the wind. Why? I don't know. Where did the fear come from? I have no friggin' idea. What I do know is that there is a VERY HIGH PROBABILITY THERE WILL BE A TORNADO HERE IN OKC TODAY. I'm less than happy about this. I guess the fact that I've spent almost 2 years traveling to "windy" states and this is the first encounter with a major storm isn't a bad track record.
Update: We (my coworkers and I) left the office early because of the storm. We got to the hotel, changed into some comfy clothes, and hunkered down until about 7 PM. We spent about an hour and a half in the storm shelter, but luckily, this area was spared. Unfortunately, the rest of the state wasn't so lucky. My thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the storms today.
I've been feeling mighty crafty lately and have come across some really great blogs and websites recently. I found the Ravelry website which is a knit and crochet community. They've got a ton of information on there and I've only gotten to explore a very little bit of it. This is where I think I'll find the info I'll need for my ugly afghan I've been wanting to make.
While I was looking around on tumblr, I clicked on something that took me over to this page where I found this really fun project. It involves picture frames, spray painting and song lyrics and I can't wait to start on it!
On Friday, I was lucky enough to have my mom's cleaning lady come spend two hours on my house! Can I just tell you how happy that made me?! She was able to get the entire first floor cleaned and that meant I didn't have to do it!
I was able to spend a full two days working on getting my bedroom and office cleaned up and organized. I've been trying to de-clutter my room for months. The office has been in a state of disarray since I moved into the house a year and a half ago! It was time to get it done. I'm happy to report everything I started on in my room is done, and my office is a little more than halfway there. I got enough done that I felt good about walking away from it Sunday night! I'll share pics when it's all done!

Top 10s About My Besties
Jumping on the ole bloggy bandwagon over here and participating in Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop. The post isn't supposed to go up until tomorrow, but this is good, people, and perfection cannot wait. I chose Blog Prompt #5: List 10 things about one of your favorite people... however, I put my own spin on it and am giving you 3 for the price of 1!
It's no secret around here that there is a handful of very remarkable women I'm lucky enough to have in my life, and the relationships I have with them are VERY important to me. I have very different relationships with each of them, but none of them are any more important than the others. I love these girls with all my heart! I may have mentioned them each a time or two, but for shits and giggles, I'm gonna give you my Top 10 List about each of them. Lace up your corsets, cuz here we go!
First off we have Auri (aka Aurelia, Lippi, Gina, Dude & Bunghole), my Heterosexual Life Partner (HLP for short). She and I met on the first day of 10th grade and have been inseparable ever since. Cute, huh? Here's my top ten list of things I love about her:
1. She calls me on my shit.
2. She is one of the most selfless, giving people I know.
3. She is an awesome mom who parents her children while still allowing them to be kids.
4. She loves me.
5. She doesn't let (most) of the little things get under her skin.
6. She tells me what I need to hear, not always what I want to hear.
7. We have been through the absolutely darkest places and the most magnificently wonderful places together, have helped each other through, and are better for it.
8. She's the first to volunteer when I need a zit popped, an ingrown hair removed, or flaky skin peeled off my back!
9. She gave me (look at me talking like they're my own) three little bubbas that I love so incredibly much.
10. She can look at me, not say a single word, and communicate exactly what's on her mind.
Next chica on my list is Noelle (aka Nellie, Shnoelle, Sis and NOELLE!), who everyone denies is really my long-lost, finally-found twin. Noelle and I met about 4 years ago after having both been told by our mutual friend, Rose that we'd get along fabulously. How we didn't find each other sooner, I'll never know. Here's my top ten for Nellie!
1. She makes me laugh.
2. She has a fierce passion for the things she believes in.
3. She is loyal to those she loves and cares about.
4. She loves me.
5. She and I can sit and laugh at the most mundane shit for hours and still find it hysterical the next day.
6. She is handling her "third-life crisis" beautifully!
7. She is an awesome "mom", aunt, sister and daughter and holds every single member of her family in high esteem.
8. She is one of the best travel buddies I've ever had.
9. She is sooo much fun to shop with!
10. She is an amazing friend who would do anything for anyone!
The final BFF on my list is Cassandra (aka Cass, Big Mama Cass, Cassalicious and Babe). Cassi and I have had the type of friendship that had it been a romantic relationship, we would have met, gotten engaged on the first date, and been married within the month. Yes, our friendship has been that intense. Here's my list of things I adore about her:
1. She is an amazing mother and loves being a mom.
2. She is an "over-sharer"! And by that I mean she is an open book and isn't afraid to share all aspects of her life with her loved ones.
3. She loves me.
4. She is ridiculously passionate about EVERYTHING!
5. When she wants something, she goes out and gets it, accomplishes it, masters it, or makes it hers.
6. She's friggin' hilarious.
7. She is one of the most compassionate women I've ever known.
8. She introduced me to the love of my life.
9. She is a fantasticly (yes, that's a word), amazing photographer and I dream of being as good as she is.
10. She is a great listener and offers great advice for all my woes!
And there you have it... just a few of the reasons I love these girls and can't imagine my life without them!

Random Tuesdayness - It's Tuesday and I'm Antsy

I've come to the conclusion that when the bug to write something bites me, I need to write. Starting a post and coming back to it a day or two or four later generally doesn't end well. I get some ideas down and then struggle to combine everything into something entertaining. And seriously, struggling to post kind of takes the fun out of it.
I'm very much enjoying my yoga practice these days. Am I doing as much as I'd like? Hell no. But I'm working on it. Also, the craving for a new tattoo has hit me hard and I'm trying to decide when and where to get my next one. Naturally, I've starting thinking about yogic symbols and may end up going that direction. Of course I'll share when I get it done!
Is that not the cutest thing you've ever seen? Ok, maybe not ever, but the cutest thing you've seen today? No? In the last hour? Oh whatevs... I think the pigoletta is adorable and I kinda want one! Don't tell my dad!
I found out on Friday afternoon that I was one of the victims of the scam involving Michael's craft stores. As such, I'm without a debit card until the new one gets reissued. Here's my issue with the whole thing, other than they royally fucked me over... to the scammers: get a goddamn job! If you're so fucking smart as to rig the whole thing and scam money from PEOPLE THAT DON'T HAVE IT, then get a job and do something good in the world! Here's a list of the stores where the fraud occurred. I have impeccable timing, huh?
The countdown to Denver is down to 10 days!!! I cannot wait to see my man. Seriously. Y'all have no idea! Well, maybe you do, but this long distance thing is R.O.U.G.H.!!! While I'm in Denver we're going to see Adele's show at the Ogden Theater! I adore that girl and am so excited to see her live. Also, worthy of noting, I think the Civil Wars are opening for her!!!
Guess who finally booked her hotel for her trip to Maui next year!!!!! Squee! Me!!!! Holy shit! I am over-the-moon excited! I'm only 90,000 points short right now, but I'm sure I'll have that accrued in no time! OMG, I can't even begin to express how utterly, ecstaticly happy I am! As of right now, I'm going alone... we'll see how things go as to who I decide to take with me! I also have enough miles for my plane ticket so the trip is going to be very inexpensive! All this traveling is finally paying off!
I'm been feeling super-crafty lately. (Obviously, since I've been shopping at Michael's...see above.) I saw this picture on tumblr a few weeks ago and decided I want to make an ugly afghan like the one on the couch. The problem is, I don't know how to crochet in a square like that. Can anyone help me out?
If not, I can just make 48575684 flowers and sew them all together like this one... whaddaya think? Pretty fugly, huh? So fugly it's cute!
That's it from the peanut gallery for today... Hope y'all are having a great week!
Mwah!

Ranting, Raving and Lots of Cussing
On the subject of...
Punching people - On 3 separate occasions yesterday I said I wanted to punch someone (there were multiple targets of my aggression, not one person in particular). At first I was thinking maybe I needed to chill the fuck out. The more I thought about it, I decided that everyone needed to stop annoying the hell out of me and the people I love. Knock it the fuck off!
Skechers Shape-Ups - Seriously, people? Here's my disclaimer... I'm a big girl... therefore, I am allowed to speak on the subject. Girls, if your ass is as big as mine (and let's not be shy here people, it's nearly got its own zip code), wearing a fugly-ass pair of shoes isn't going make you lose weight and look fabulous. You've got to WORK FOR IT! You're not going to miraculously lose 100 pounds by walking around in those things! Granted, if you walk 10 miles every day, then maybe, but that's because you'd be getting a cardio workout. Not because of the GD Effing shoes! They're ugly. They're expensive. They need to go. Don't even GET me started on men wearing them!
Computer Wallpaper - I stumbled across this adorable wallpaper over on tumblr and fell in love. I guess the blogger/artist creates a calendar/wallpaper every month for her readers to download as their backgrounds. You can find it over on Geninne's Art Blog. Love it!
Adult Acne - I'm 31 effing years old and I'm STILL dealing with acne. And not like, "Oh, I get a zit during that time of the month." I'm talking the big, huge, cystic acne that hurts like a sonofabitch and doesn't go away no matter what you try on your skin. I'm to the point where battery acid is sounding like a viable option. My face hurts. I need it to stop. Like now.
Slacking - I'll admit it. I have been a huge slacker around my house. I've been trying (and I use that term loosely) to get my office at home set up for the last three months. Every weekend while I'm home, I have good intentions to work on it and start getting things situated, but for some reason, my bed always grabs me, pulls me in, and won't let me out! I'm sick and tired of having a junk room. It needs to get handled this weekend!
Sex - Since I'm trying to balance this out with ranting and raving, and I don't have much to rave about at the moment, let's rave about sex. I mean, come on, who doesn't love sex? Well, there are a few people out there, but not many. Tell me, what, apart from doing the deed, is your favorite part of sex (i.e., the intimacy, the physicality, the sounds)?
Blogger - WTF?! I had this post all ready to go yesterday and then blogger went down! I'm ready to shank a bitch!
Cassi - She finished my signature for my posts last night and I couldn't be happier!!! Thanks, babe! You rock!
And with that, I'm out!
Smooches!

Random Tuesdayness - Boobs, PMS, Singing, Dancing and Having Babies
Boobs. Tatas. Knockers. Have you ever had a "bad boob" day? Like, where you look in the mirror and realize all the flaws with your girls? I had never had one until a few weeks ago. It was kind of strange. I think I'd be more satisfied with mine if I felt I was more in proportion. I've got pretty small knockers compared to the size of my ass.
I hate when men have PMS. Seriously. I'm the one with the uterus and ovaries. I'm the one that has to have a period every 24 effing days. I'm the one who has to deal with whacked out hormones. Men shouldn't be allowed to have PMS. Period.
If there was one talent I wish I'd been born with, it would definitely be the ability to sing. I love to sing. Love. It. Seeing how I've been told by more than one person that I've got a horrid voice, I try not to do it in public too often. However, if I'm alone in my car, you can bet your ass I've got the music cranked and am singing at the top of my lungs.
I want nothing more right now than to get married. If I were able to quit my job, maybe have a baby or two and be a stay-at-home mom, I'd be the HAPPIEST girl in the world. Bet you never thought you'd hear that out of my mouth, huh?
I miss dancing like crazy. Like. Crazy. I'd love to get back into it but am not really sure where to start. Everytime I watch people dancing on TV, I can't help but to totally get into it. My body tenses up and I get all excited! I know that RDT offers community classes in SLC so I guess that's where I'll start! Wish me luck! (That's Heather Morris - Brittany on Glee - and she is one of the most amazing dancers I've ever seen! I also may or may not have a girl crush on her...)

P.S. Someone... and I'm not mentioning names... *cough* Cassi *cough* ... was supposed to make me a new signature and still hasn't finished it...

Random Tuesdayness - Music and Movies and Longing

It's Tuesday... for a little bit longer... time to get some random thrown into a post for y'all. Keely is still boycotting the whole thing, but there are a few brave souls out there who have taken on the challenge! Go talk to them or link up if you wanna play!
Oh, how I love me some Mumford. I need more Mumford in my life. A new album would be much appreciated... or at least a concert in a city I could easily attend. (BTW, that's not my picture, I found it on tumblr... isn't it fab? It belongs to Eryn Inglis...she's got some other great sketches over there, too.)
I found a new band last week that I've fallen inlove with. I don't know much about them other than I love their music. They're called The Naked and Famous... the single on the radio is called Young Blood... Go check 'em out. This is one of those bands whose music elicits a physical response from me.
Off on a totally random tangent, this is another thing I saw on tumblr this week and it really caught my attention. No matter what side you're on, it gets you thinkin', doesn't it?
Do you see the fugly afghan sitting on that couch? I want it. Or at least I want to make one just like it. Anyone have any idea how to do so? I can crochet rows of things, and a few flowers, but I need to figure out the squares. Thoughts? Advice? It'd all be muchly appreciated. Fanks in advance.
It's no secret that I'm inlove with Vin Diesel. I mean, come on... the man is effing hot. I realize his look doesn't appeal to everyone, but hot damn, I'd love to throw down with that boy! Needless to say, when I found out Fast Five was slated to come out, I squeeled... a lot. You can bet your asses I saw it over the weekend!
Auri and I went on a date Saturday night (I'm liking this Aurs/Tata date night thing every other weekend) and did the dinner and a movie thing. We ate at a new restaurant in Salt Lake called Rice and it was delish. If you like any type of Asian food, this is the place for you. Their menu includes items ranging from Sushi to Teriyaki Rice Bowls to Thai food and it's all very tasty. Prices are very reasonable as well.
All I'm going to say about the movie is that it was perfect. Absolutley perfect. And if you go to see it, make sure you stick around long enough after the credits to see the bonus scene at the end. You won't be sorry you did. Then come over here and we'll talk about it. Trust me, you'll want to. I'll be here waiting for you when you get back... go on now... you're going to be late!
I miss going to bed with you…
I miss waking up with you…
I miss kissing you before we fall asleep at night…
I miss kissing you when we wake up in the morning…
I miss you grabbing for my hand to hold…
I miss you more than I thought was possible…
“I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." - When Harry Met Sally
Oh my hell, I miss him so unbelieveably much.
