Playing Catch-Up, Great Friends, and New Toys

Random Tuesdayness:  You know what to do...
A few weeks back during one of my trips, the handle on my laptop roller bag broke. The bag is only a year old so I was kind of angry that it gave out on me. Let me tell you, wheeling a bag without a handle through the airport is a pain in the hiney! I found this bag online for a decent price and it arrived last week. I absolutely love it. The real test will come next week when I take it on its first trip. I'll let you know how she does!
I mentioned that I’m working on an afghan, and it’s kind of cracking me up that I’m so excited about it. My goal isn’t to make it look pretty and uniform, but funky and unmatched. I’ll keep updating my progress if I remember!
It’s no secret that I hate my phone, and that I’ve been pining for an iPhone for quite a while now. I finally broke down on Saturday night and bought one. The major bummer though, is that they were out of stock at the Verizon store, so I have to wait for it to be shipped to my house. And according to FedEx, that’ll be tomorrow! I am soooo excited and am sick of waiting! Apparently, I kind of “flipped out” at the store. At least according to Wiki and Jenn. I don’t really know what they’re talking about, but you can ask them if you want!
About 3 weeks ago I had the pleasure of having dinner with two of the most fabulous girls in the world… Aurs and Di Bradley (we’ve called her by her first & last name since we’ve been friends). We started off with pizza and wine at Setebello and then went onto BarX for a cocktail. We had such a great time catching up… we don’t get together nearly as often as we should!  I should also mention that Ty Burrell is part owner of BarX... put that on your list of unneeded trivia!
A few weekends later I went out with another group of my fabulous friends (RosaMarie & Jenn) and had dinner at Vinto. I’d never been there before and I absolutely love the place. The food is fantastic. The atmosphere is great. The service was excellent. And I can’t wait to go back! After dinner the three of us met up with ToniTone at BarX (are you sensing a theme here) for a few drinks. I hadn’t seen Jenn in a while and it was good to get caught up.
That same weekend on Sunday I took Mr. Aidan on his birthday date. I cannot believe he’s already 7. It’s freaking me out. We went to see The Smurfs and we both loved it! Before the movie started, he said, “Hey Tata, Barney is in this movie.” I was thinking, why the hell is Barney the Purple Dinosaur in this movie… then realized he was talking about Barney (aka NPH) from How I Met Your Mother. He also recognized “Gloria” from Modern Family, and George Lopez as the voice of Grouchy Smurf. I was dying!
Later that night, Auri and I went on a little date of our own to see Breaking Dawn. OMG, I loved it! Probably not my favorite of the series, but it was still good. There were a few super-cheesy parts that I would have done completely differently, but whatevs. I really liked where the movie ended in anticipation for Part 2, but really don’t want to wait another year to see it!
Also, I may or may not be in love with someecards… they seriously kill me! Freaking hilarious!
I want this ring.  That is all.

Finally, here is my beautiful Cass!  She's finally showing!!!  Isn't she cute???  14 weeks, I think... I'm convinced she's having a girl.  If she doesn't, I'll probably cry.  But then I'll get over it.

Blog Slacking

I can't remember if I shared this cartoon with y'all before... but it cracks me up, and since I've been lacking in the posting department, I thought it might make up for something!

Has anyone seen Eurotrip? I've been watching it on TBS, so while all the good stuff was edited out, I'm still laughing my ass off. When Auri's oldest was little, he used to call this movie "Scotty Doesn't Know" ... if you haven't seen it, then the reference won't make sense. If you have, can you agree with me that Matt Damon looks ridiculously hot being pierced and tattooed with a shaved head? No? Whatever.

Anyhoodle... I realized yesterday that I haven't posted all week... nor have I been around to anyone else's blogs. I was in Denver for 5 days and then I was working from home the rest of the week. I forgot what it was like to work from home and used all my extra free time to get stuff done around the house... hence, the blog-lacking.

Denver was fantabulous... I got to see my baby every single day and I am missing him so incredibly much it's crazy. Cassi and I had sooo much fun shopping and dorking around and I can't wait to go back. I'm heading back to OKC tomorrow and will return with pics and a recap of my trip. Hope y'all had a great weekend!

Random Tuesdayness - Music and Movies and Longing

Stacy
It's Tuesday... for a little bit longer... time to get some random thrown into a post for y'all. Keely is still boycotting the whole thing, but there are a few brave souls out there who have taken on the challenge! Go talk to them or link up if you wanna play!
Oh, how I love me some Mumford. I need more Mumford in my life. A new album would be much appreciated... or at least a concert in a city I could easily attend. (BTW, that's not my picture, I found it on tumblr... isn't it fab? It belongs to Eryn Inglis...she's got some other great sketches over there, too.)
I found a new band last week that I've fallen inlove with. I don't know much about them other than I love their music. They're called The Naked and Famous... the single on the radio is called Young Blood... Go check 'em out. This is one of those bands whose music elicits a physical response from me.Off on a totally random tangent, this is another thing I saw on tumblr this week and it really caught my attention. No matter what side you're on, it gets you thinkin', doesn't it?Do you see the fugly afghan sitting on that couch? I want it. Or at least I want to make one just like it. Anyone have any idea how to do so? I can crochet rows of things, and a few flowers, but I need to figure out the squares. Thoughts? Advice? It'd all be muchly appreciated. Fanks in advance. It's no secret that I'm inlove with Vin Diesel. I mean, come on... the man is effing hot. I realize his look doesn't appeal to everyone, but hot damn, I'd love to throw down with that boy! Needless to say, when I found out Fast Five was slated to come out, I squeeled... a lot. You can bet your asses I saw it over the weekend!

Auri and I went on a date Saturday night (I'm liking this Aurs/Tata date night thing every other weekend) and did the dinner and a movie thing. We ate at a new restaurant in Salt Lake called Rice and it was delish. If you like any type of Asian food, this is the place for you. Their menu includes items ranging from Sushi to Teriyaki Rice Bowls to Thai food and it's all very tasty. Prices are very reasonable as well. All I'm going to say about the movie is that it was perfect. Absolutley perfect. And if you go to see it, make sure you stick around long enough after the credits to see the bonus scene at the end. You won't be sorry you did. Then come over here and we'll talk about it. Trust me, you'll want to. I'll be here waiting for you when you get back... go on now... you're going to be late!
I miss going to bed with you…
I miss waking up with you…
I miss kissing you before we fall asleep at night…
I miss kissing you when we wake up in the morning…
I miss you grabbing for my hand to hold…
I miss you more than I thought was possible…

“I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." - When Harry Met Sally

Oh my hell, I miss him so unbelieveably much.

Random Monday Bi-Weekly Recap

Every Monday rolls around and I really want to regale you with tales of excitement and naughtiness and loads of fun from the weekend. Sadly, the last few of my weekends have been less than eventful. The girls and I had planned to go out dancing Friday night but that didn't end up happening. Instead, I spent the majority of the evening in my office at home chillin' with Baby NeNe (who is NOT a baby eater, contrary to popular belief). She curled up and napped on the couch while I enjoyed my new desk and comfy chair. The office is still a mess, but at least it's functional! I'm really going to love it when I get it finished.

Sidenote: Overheard, while on the phone with Cassi earlier that afternoon: Oh my GAWD! Did you just get poop all over your room? Oh my God! I've gotta call you back. Hold that thought!" Click.

The rest of the evening was spent crying with Noelle and having a very late dinner with her and Wiki. It's all a long and very complicated story and I'm gonna check with her before I share it all with y'all. On Saturday I got up at the ass-crack of dawn (ok, it was 10 AM or so and that's too early for me) and joined a group of friends for a private yoga class. I haven't done yoga in years and it felt so good to get back to it. Our teacher's name is Angela and she's my friend Lisa's personal trainer. What an awesome woman she is! I can't wait to go back for more classes... Lisa, get on it!

After yoga we all went for lunch where my new friend Paula, after discussing blogs with Lisa, blurted out, "Oh my God! You're Salti?!" She told me her hubby reads this here ole blog and I started cracking up. So hey to all my lurkers out there... I don't know who you are, but I hope you keep coming back. Drop me a line sometime! By the way, best line heard at lunch? "I gotta go home and drain my jugs."Saturday night Auri invited me over for dinner and some HLP time. She made her fantabulous white/parmesean sauce over tortellini and I was in Heaven! By far, her best white sauce to date. In fact, if I could have some for lunch tomorrow I might just be the happiest girl in the world! Her hubs got home and we put in the movie Che, played by Benecio Del Toro and it was really good. If you're looking for a movie in that genre it's a definite go!
By the time I rolled my ass out of bed on Sunday, half the day was gone, but I still managed to get quite a bit accomplished. Cleaned, did laundry, ran a couple of errands, and went to dinner at the parentals' house. Wiki and I grabbed some "hard" ice cream and she watched TV with NeNe while I packed my suitcase... which I might add, is new (well, not entirely, I stole it from my parents... and that's even kind of a lie because they said I could use it), because the asshat cab driver broke the handle on my Kenneth Cole suitcase that I lurve while taking it out of the van last week! Rude! I'm now using the Utah Jazz Ogio bag they got from Toyota and I don't think I'll be returning it... it's pretty fab.

That brings us to Monday... back to the OKC... and I couldn't be happier (read: lie). Today is MLK day, but unfortunately, I didn't get the day off. I should have, however, scheduled myself on the afternoon instead of the morning flight. There was no reason for me to be here as early as I was. Oh well. It's over and done.

I leave you with a laugh....
And a thought....
"Last week we saw a white Catholic male Republican judge murdered on his way to greet a Democratic Jewish woman member of Congress, who was his friend. Her life was saved initially by a 20-year-old Mexican-American gay college student, and eventually by a Korean American combat surgeon, and this all was eulogized by our African American President." ~ Mark Shields, PBS

It's Monday Again ... Already?

Apparently I have a blogging problem... not that I blog too much, but the fact that I've been MIA for the better part of each of the last 3 weeks. In the meantime, let's have a weekend recap:

Friday - I did some work, tackled some laundry, went to therapy, spent some money shopping and went to dinner with the girls at Olive Garden.

Saturday - Got my hair did, went to lunch with Mum, ran some errands, went to Noelle's for dinner, finished the Vegas Mix cd, and had a beer with the girls at A Bar Named Sue.
Sunday - Fretted that I only had one day left of my weekend, packed for Oklahoma, watched football, took a nap, went to the parentals' for dinner, hung out with Auri and watched "Get Him to the Greek." P.S. If you haven't seen it, go watch it ASAP. Stay away from the Jeffries and the furry wall.

This brings me to today, Monday, and I'm back in Oklahoma. I can't say I'm thoroughly excited to be back on the road this week, however, I'm delighting in the fact that I got to travel here First Class (yippee!!!) and I scored (what I think, thus far) one of the best rooms in the hotel. I'm in a corner room, it's nice and spacious, and at least half of it is windows! Go me! I'll take pics and show them to you tomorrow. The official countdown to Vegas (which hasn't been official until now) is 11 days! OMG! Well, the Vegas Mix is done and ready to go, so I can cross that "to-do" off my list! My friend Candace asked me today if I was ready for the trip... I told her I have this trip and next week's business trip to worry about before I start getting ready for Vegas!

Hope y'all have a great week and I'll try to be better about blogging a bit more often!

Random Tuesdayness - I Need Some Pool Time

randomtuesday Happy Tuesday everyone! You're in for another installment of RTT brought to you by Keely. Go talk to her if you wanna play! First of all, I'd like to say hello and extend a warm welcome to my new followers. Thanks for coming by and I hope I don't bore y'all too much!

Second of all, I'M HOME THIS WEEK! Sweet Jebus, I never thought I'd enjoy sleeping in my own bed so much... even if it kills my back. I can say traveling has officially caught up with me!

I took a little trip up to Brigham City over the weekend. That's Peach Country, for those of you who don't live in Utah. Too bad I'm allergic to peaches, huh? Anyway, after I made it all.the.way.up.there (it's about an hour drive from where I live) I was pleasantly surprised by the trip. The town is very cute and quaint and the drive wasn't bad at all. I know I've been up throught there before but it's been years and I don't really remember it.

I saw Step Up 3D on Sunday and it was awesome... not so much for the storyline, but the dancing was A-MAZE-ING! However, I have to say, I'm never going to a movie with Rose and Noelle again... For some strange reason, they like sitting on the top row. I couldn't feel my legs when I finally made it up there. We were in the largest theater with like 30 rows of seats. WTF?!
I got some tea at my dentist's office yesterday. Yes, they sell tea. Remember how I told you how fabulous my dentist is? If not, go re-read the post. I had some tea while sitting in the massage chairs in the Zen room while waiting for my cleaning. That was before the parrafin hand wax treatment and face & neck massage after the cleaning. Anyhoodle, the tea was fabulous and he had some to buy... so I bought it. It's from The Art of Tea and I got "Tali's Masala Chai" flavor. It's yummy!

Have I mentioned I have work ADD? Actually, maybe just ADD in general. I can't focus on just one task anymore... I go from chore to chore (whether at work or home) and it takes me forever just to get one thing completed!
Can I just tell you how damn happy I am to be home this week? Have I mentioned it enough yet? The fact that I haven't been home enough to clean in the last month is really catching up to me... and for some reason, I just don't have the energy to do it, but it has to be done. I'll pay someone... Do I have any volunteers?

Alabama pronunciation:
File - "fall"
Oil - "ole"
Clark - "clork"
Are - "ore"
Eligibility - "eljability" - Mostly, the consonants tend to be extremely drawn out!
Children - "chooldrun"
There are a ton more, but these are the ones I can think of at the moment...

So, I'm going to be a traveling fool the next couple of weeks. Back to 'Bama next week, home for one day, then jetting off to New Mexico to meet Auri and the kids at her mom's house. I'm excited to get in a little traveling that isn't work related! Then of course, we have Vegas in October! Woo hoo! I can't wait!

Well, I hope you're all off to a good week thus far and I'll chat with y'all later! I'm off to the pool... I need a little R&R today. By the way, I've got a lot of blog reading/catching up to do!

Ciao!

Eclit... Oops! I Mean, Eclipse!

I know how obnoxious this is, but my friends and I have porn names for the Twilight movies. Eclit happens to be the pseudonym for Eclipse... do you like? First I give you my night's rundown, second I give you a mini-review. Don't worry, I won't give away any details!Like I said before, unless you live in a hole or couldn't give a shit less, you know that Eclipse premiered this week. On Tuesday night/Wedenesday morning at Midnight, to be exact. Just like I promised, I was there... and I loved every minute of it! The night started off with dinner and a showing of New Moon at my house. Brittany, Jessica, Noelle, and Maddie all came over and hung out. I made dinner (aka, threw some pasta in boiling water and heated up some bottled vodka sauce from Sunflower Market), Jess brought a salad and we called it good. I think the vodka sauce from World Market was better, but when it's bottled, you can't complain. We left my casa around 9:30 and headed west to pick up Lisa in BFE. Once we finally found her we drove over to Jordan Landing to meet Auri and the other ladies...which was where I was originally told the movie was at. Auri and the girls from work had dinner over at Joe's Crab Shack (another reason we decided to eat at home) and they had just gotten their food by the time we got there. We went to Chili's next door for coffee and dessert while we waited for them to finish dinner. Fishy smelling coffee and dessert didn't sound too appetizing...Keep in mind... this wasn't us. Just click on it cuz you'll laugh your asses off!

Once we left Chili's, we called Auri and she said they were coming out of Joe's... and couldn't see us...and we couldn't see her. She was out front and so were we... just at different locales. Yeah... I wouldn't call it a miscommunication, but a lack of communication. Miss Callie forgot to include me in on the info... so we were all discombobulated. It all worked out in the end though!

PS - Brittany didn't join us cuz she has plans to see it with her BBBF in a few weeks, and Lisa ended up getting sick before the movie and went home...
I have to say, I really wasn't anticipating or excited about this movie the way I was with New Moon. I'm pretty sure it's because I was pretty unmoved by the 2nd one and I didn't want to get my hopes up for Eclipse. I was verrrry happily surprised by the movie this time. The few expectations I had were met!
Fabu Part #1 ~ The makeup, hair/wigs and contacts were soooo much better in this movie! Rosalie's wig and Jasper's hair alone made all the difference. I had originally thought New Moon and Eclipse were both directed by Chris Weitz, but I was wrong. David Slade actually directed Eclipse and I couldn't have been happier. The differences are mightily apparent!
I have to say, I don't really like that Bryce Dallas Howard was cast. She just didn't seem to fit the part... but that may be because I was partial to the original Victoria. I think if she looked like she does in this picture, it would've been easier to take... her wig and makeup looked ridiculous. The actress did a great job, I just didn't appreicate how they made her up.
Fabu point #2: Lots of lip action. When we were walking into the theater, we walked past a couple coming out that complained "there was too much making out," in it (remember, we're in Utah). Um, last time I checked, that was all in the book and totally welcomed by me! Bring on the smoochin'!
I loved that everyone was in this film more involved. It wasn't just a couple of the characters running around the whole time. They all actually had more than one line!

Anyhoodle, the ambien has finally hit me and I can't think straight anymore. I've seen the movie twice and loved it, obvi. Now I wanna hear your reviews!
