Random Tuesdayness - 6th Installment

randomtuesday
Ok kids! It's that time again. Time for another edition of Random Tuesdayness, with me, your hostess with the mostest. God, that is so overused! Moving right along... I just realized that most people who do Random Tuesday Thoughts post their stuff in the morning. So that means they proably get it ready the night before. Which means I'm a slacker. Oh well, I don't care! Anyway... Random Tuesday Thoughts is sponsored by Keely at The Un Mom, so run over there, grab her button and join in the fun. Random Tuesdayness is a place to unload all the crap that has been backing up in your brain without having any rhyme or reason for posting about it! Here goes...

My weekend was fairly unproductive. In fact, I can't really remember what I did. Oh, that's right... I had dinner with Auri and her family (mom, step-dad, kids) at Pat's BBQ on Friday night. If you're a meat lover, it's definitely a place you'll want to check out. If you're like me, not so much. All of the "sides" were delish, but the meat left much to be desired - but only because I'm extremely picky about meat. In fact, the place is so good, it was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network. You know, the show that is hosted by Guy Fieri? I love that show. Except, it's not good to watch it when you're hungry, because no matter what he's taste-testing, it all looks delightful. And then you get a craving for something, and you'll never actually get anything like what you saw on the show because the restaurant was in Delaware, or something. Whatever!

But yes, Pat's is good... especially if you like meat. Which I clearly don't. Mashed potatoes and gravy? To die for. Cole slaw? Wow. Cornbread? Yes please. Ribs? Not so much! By the way, I think Guy is hot. If you know him, tell him I said so. Ok thanks. I guess I better mention that I did Auri's toes on Friday night after dinner, and my, do they look splendid!

Well, I figured out the countdown for my trips this morning. It seems like my Tuesday morning meetings are when I remember to do them. Speaking of my meeting... I felt like a total dumbass today because I had to call my boss and verify the location of our meeting. I couldn't remember which office we were supposed to be at. Duh! So, yes, we have 51 days until San Fran, and 59 days until San Diego. I can't wait!

On Saturday I went out with Rosie Marie. We grabbed dinner at Biaggis. Our initial thought was to go there and see our hot waiter. Then I decided I was in the mood for a Margherita pizza from CPK. We flipped a coin, and CPK won. Too bad the wait was 25 minutes... and there wasn't one at Biaggis. So Biaggis won. And it was really good. This is Rose in front of the ZTejas sign. We looked like tourists down at Gateway.

After dinner we went to see Duplicity with Julia Roberts and Clive Owen. They're both corporate spys who cross paths and get all entertwined. Let me say this. I've never particularly had a thing for Clive. After seeing this movie, I've got a thing. He's sexy. And the movie was really good, too. It's one that definitely keeps you on your toes, so you better not doze off in the middle of it. Definitely worth seeing. Did brunch with the girls on Sunday and then went to Diva's to do some work. Got a few things accomplished. Oh, and I got to sit in the Conservatory (aka the old greenhouse) and it was cool. The second picture of me with straight hair is from inside it.

Hmmm... let's see. I saw someone's reference to March weather... In like a lion, out like a lamb. Well, here in Utah, we have to expect everything to be screwy when it comes to the weather. The beginning of our March was great... In like a lamb. And now? Definitely going out with a big, giant growl. Why does Mother Nature hate us? Why can't we have four distinct seasons? I'm sick of the snow. Mind you, we've had a pretty mild winter, compared to last year, but come on! And I had to throw the RPattz picture in here because of the Lion/Lamb reference. Holler if you have no idea what the hell I'm talking about!

And on a totally unrelated subject, hence, the randomness....A while back I signed up for a Twitter account. I posted a few updates, nothing too exciting. Mostly because hardly anyone I knew had an account, and I kind of just gave up on it and forgot about it. I've been seeing a lot of my favorite bloggers with Twitter updates on their pages, so I decided to log back in and check it out. Now that I have a few more people to follow, we'll see how it goes. I have a little box over there on the right somewhere that you can click on to follow me. I know, just one more thing so that we all stay connected!

Speaking of RPattz, and Twilight, has anyone seen pictures of Taylor Lautner (aka Jacob Black) lately? Good God, that boy has put on some muskles! (I know I spelled it wrong - pronounce with a hard K.) If this is the first you've seen his new pictures, do yourself a favor and Google "Taylor Lautner Abs" and see what you get. There's a little video online of him doing an interview (it's only about 2 minutes long) and he shows of his washboard. That's all I'm saying. Ladies, I'll wait while you go watch it......tapping my nails, tapping my nails.... blowing my nose...... googling it myself..... I couldn't believe it either. Hot, huh? I think I have some laundry to do. I feel kind of dirty because I know he's young, but Holy Mother of God, how can you not be attracted to that man? Whew!

Moving on... don't forget to check out my makeup blog. I posted a few pictures of Paul and Brittany over there.

And now I'm starving, seeing how I didn't eat any breakfast. A chai will only hold me over for so long. I'm craving a Dutch Baby from The Original Pancake House. Maybe I'll go there for lunch... In parting, I leave you with this.... it's silly, but I think it's cute!
P.S. I swear the formatting of these damn posts is going to be the death of me!

Got Mah Herr Did

Anyone remember when I told you about how my mother hates when I straighten my hair? I'm pretty sure I wrote about it in a post somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Oh wait, just found it!

Anyway, my hair is naturally curly (as can be seen in various pictures around my blog) and I never straighten it on my own. I'm sure I could, I just don't have the patience, or the tools! So, when I go get my hair done (i.e., the gray covered up), I'll occasionally have Holly straigten it. Not every visit, maybe every other, at most.

Without fail, every time I walk in the house after returning from the salon, my mom proceeds to make some rude comment about how much she hates it. My dad and brother do it as well. Well, you know what, Mom? It gets straightened maybe four times a year. And how long does it last? One effing day (except this time when it miraculously lasted for two). So maybe you humor me and pretend not to notice it or just lie to me and tell me I look nice. I don't need to hear 'beautiful' or 'gorgeous,' but the tone with which you say, "Oh, look, it's my favorite hair-do!" leaves much to be desired!

I don't pester you about the button down blouse you wear that I absolutely despise. Or the fact that a part of your makeup regime needs a little help. I don't ever say anything negative about how you look. Apparently, I'm not so lucky to be on the receiving end of such warmth.

Now don't get me wrong, I love my mom with all my heart, and I don't know what I'd do without her, but sometimes I could beat her. As you all can relate, I'm sure.

So here you have it, finally... pictures of me with straight hair. I'm still undecided about it. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. Good thing it only lasts 24 hours, huh?

Oh, and in the 2nd picture, I'm wearing my Team Edward sweatshirt, just in case you missed it!

Oh, Fank You!

My fabulous bloggy friend, Saskia, bestowed upon me this most sought after award!

I'm supposed to share with y'all, seven things I love and that make me happy, and then pass the award on to some deserving victims, *ahem* recipients. Going along with Saskia's theme, I'll leave out the obvious (friends, family, animals) and give you a more obscure list, unique to me!

And I realize I spelled "fank" instead of "thank." That's how Aidan and Taryn say "Thank you," so I'm going with it.

1. I love to travel. Ok, this one may be obvious, but I had to throw it on the list. It may be because I recently (read: yesterday) booked a trip to San Diego for the weekend following my San Francisco trip. I also found out that my mom has a hook up for a deal in Las Vegas at the end of the year. Can we say $33 hotel rooms (and no, they're not in the ghetto)?! Looks like Vegas is a go for my 30th! I also love getting to the airport and knowing you're jetting off somewhere. I don't necessarily like to fly...

2. I love blogging. I really do. It is such a great outlet for me. I started this blog back on January 1, 2008, as more of a personal, online journal. After I got reading many of the blogs I follow today, I realized the creative outlet this could become, and thus it has grown. And I love it. I hope you do, too!

3. I love being girly. I love getting my nails done. I love doing pedicures with Aurs. I love going to get waxed (not necessarily the waxing itself). I love shopping. I love doing my makeup (when I have the time). I love being silly, and giggly when it's just the girls.

4. I love clean sheets... which is funny because I don't wash my sheets nearly as often as I should. I sleep alone. It's not like I'm sharing a bed with someone else's germs, right? I'm trying to be better about washing my sheets more often. I just hate making my bed... it's up against a wall and a total pain in the ass to make. I'm trying to get over it!

5. I'm sorry, but I have to put this one on the list. I love anything and everything Twilight. I love the story. I love the characters. I love the moral dilemmas incorporated into each book. I love getting lost in it all. And I love finally having the movie on DVD... so much that I have two! I also love RPattz... and since he's all incorporated, I won't give him his own heading... even though he totally deserves one!

6. I love a clean house.... which is funny as well, because as I've gotten older, I've become quite messy. Again, this is something I'm trying to be better about. It's a lot easier to keep things picked up ever since The Great Cleanout (most posts within that heading are related)! It's still not something I'm good at, but I'm trying!

7. I love photography. I love taking pictures. I love looking at others' work. I love seeing something so beautiful or quirky that I want to capture it forever. I love portrait pictures more than I love candids (although candids are the best when they actually turn out the way you expect them to). And with that, I wish I had an SLR camera so I can further my hobby!

With that, I'd like to pass the award on to a few deserving individuals:
Auri (because she's always got something fun and totally different to chat about)
JustJen (because, like Auri, there's always fun stuff going on over at her blog)
Us and Them (because Chad always has me laughing my ass off)
Brooke (because there's always a totally unique post to read - even if she's having an off week *wink wink*)

I Can't Believe We Just Did That!

Noelle and I have been talking about going to San Diego at the end of May to see Maddie cross the finish line in her first marathon. Mind you, this is less than a week after we get back from San Fran. We were at Diva's today and looking around for prices on flights. We ended up finding a great deal where it is going to cost each of us less than $300 for flight, two nights hotel, and two days for car rental. Can you believe it? We couldn't either, so we booked it. We looked at each other after it was all done and said, "I can't believe we just did that!" Yeah, I know, we're crazy. But seriously... $300 for a weekend in San Diego. You can't beat it! Now, I have to tell you that San Diego is one of my most favorite places in the world. I don't even know how many times I've been there, but for a while, it was at least once per year. I haven't been since 2006 and I kind of forgot how much I love it. After looking for a few pics online, I was instantly taken back to the beach and the city, and remembered how much I miss it! Now I have an upcoming trip to look forward to. Granted, we'll only have about 48 hours in the city, but we'll make it worth it!I know San Diego like my own backyard, and I can't wait to take Noelle all over the place. We'll definitely be going to Kono's for breakfast one morning, and somewhere yummy for dinner in the Gas Lamp District! The boardwalk along Mission and Pacific Beach will definitely be on our list of stops as well. I absolutely cannot wait!

Mr. & Mrs. Martinez

Last Saturday two of my amazing friends got married. No, not on separate occasions... to each other. Paul and Brittany got married on Saturday, March 21st, and I don't think anything could have gone more perfectly!
I bawled like a baby as soon as she and her dad, Mike, started down the aisle. I tried to get a lot of great pics but the flash on the camera wasn't cooperating. I got to the church early to do Britt's makeup (which turned out fabulously, I might add). I'll be posting the before and afters on my makeup blog sometime in the next day or two. When I was getting ready to head into the chapel, I looked outside to see four of my girls walking in... and damn, they looked gooood! This is the happy couple up at the alter, after they've said their vows. Karen (aka Kasian) sang a song (I can't remember which one) at the ceremony and she is who they were looking at.This is the garter that Britt wore under her dress. She's such a sweetheart to indulge Paul's obsession with the Raiders. Their wedding colors were even silver and black... she must really love him!Auri and Jessica (aka Wikiball) after we'd eaten dinner at the reception. The reception was held at the Memorial House in Memory Grove which is in downtown Salt Lake City. I'd never been there, and it's absolutely gorgeous. If I ever find the man of my dreams, I'll seriously consider having a wedding there! And here we have the wedding cake. I'm on a mission (for my mother) to find out who made it because it was reallllly good. I only had a bite, so I couldn't tell ya, but that was the word on the street that night. Isn't it pretty? Those are champagne flutes to the left, and her bouquet to the right. This was the cake topper - picture taken from above (obvi). In case you can't see, that's a bride dragging her groom behind her. Oh, and the requisite Raiders football helmet. The boy has problems, we're all aware of this!A close-up picture of Brittany's bouquet. It was gorgeous, and I especially liked the bling... my kind of girl. A friend of theirs did all the flowers and they were fabulous!Brittany and her dad during the "Father-Daughter" dance. I had to go in the other room because the song they danced to was one of those that grabs my insides and twists... and I burst into tears. Paul came over to say hi to the group of us girls standing there, said one word to me, and I started bawling again. He took off in the other direction...What a wuss!Brittany and Paul invited all of their guy friends up to the front of the dance floor, the DJ gave them all props, and then turned on the YMCA. Every single one of them was a sport and they all danced to the whole song with motions and everything! I got that on video. I may post it later. This is a pic of all the ladies sitting down to enjoy the boys' performance. It was quite comical!
I can't remember what song came on, but this is Britt's dad jumping up and down to it. We were all cracking up!Here are Brittany, Sarah and Auri. Sadly this was about the best photo of her face I got. I'll be getting some head shots from her photographer soon! Aren't they cute? Brittany literally was the typical glowing bride that night. I couldn't have hoped for it to have gone any better! And finally, this is Paul & Britt on their way out of the reception hall and to their waiting horse-drawn carriage. They took that down to the hotel they spent the night at. So cute!
Congratulations to some of my best friends. I couldn't have hoped for anything better for either of you! You two are wonderful people and absolutely deserve all the happiness and joy you bring to each other. I love you both!

If I Run Out of Gas I'll Be Disowned

I cannot, for the life of me, understand what my problem is lately. I have been severly unmotivated to do anything but read, dork around on my computer, and sleep. I know there are quite a few of you out there who can relate. I either know you personally or read your blogs and you've said as much. I'm not having a hard time doing the things I want to do, or enjoy doing. I'm having issues doing "responsible" stuff in a timely manner. Like cleaning the basement (or my disgustingly dirty toilet, for that matter - which I finally cleaned last night), putting gas in my car, paying my bills (to my mother), and picking up my prescription. These aren't things that are necessarily uncomfortable or painful (except parting with my money), just things that are the furthest thing from my mind most of the time. And I can't seem to figure out why. I'm not particularly stressed out. My job is fairly easy-going (except on the days when we have sessions - and as soon as they're over, so is my stress), my home life is pretty kick-back (minus my dad feeling the need to lecture me about anything he can possibly think of - it's an ingrained thing - maybe a Palestinian thing), and my friends are all fabulous. So why in God's name am I having a problem focusing? Maybe it's my meds. Maybe it's a brain defect I've recently acquired. Maybe ... I don't know.

I was on my way to my nail appointment this morning and I remembered my gas light came on last night on my way home from Noelle's (as she was so kind as to feed me dinner). Did I bother to stop last night and put gas in my car? Nope. I figured I'd do it this morning. So when I left this morning, I stopped at Starbucks for my daily chai, and headed to the Nail Garden. I didn't want to be late (because I'm always late) so I decided to forego getting gas and went straight to my appointment. The whole way there, after I'd passed Chevron, I had visions of being stranded on the side of the road because I ran out of gas. And my car died. This scenario is sooo not an option for me. Can I just tell you, if I ever had to call my parents for help because I ran out of gas, they'd disown me. I distinctly remember my mom telling me once that running out of gas is one of the stupidest things anyone could ever do. Well, I certainly don't ever want to incur the wrath of my mother in that situation. I can imagine the conversation:

Me - Hey Mom, I um, ran out of gas. Can you either bring me some, or come pick me up?
Mom - Are you effing serious? Sucks to be you. Figure it out on your own!
Me - Uh, ok, guess I'll call someone who cares... dial tone...

Seriously, what is so hard about stopping to put gas in my car? Is it because I usually fill up at Costco and didn't have time to go there? Is it because I have no money? Is it because I just suck and can't get my shit together? I don't know... but hopefully I'll figure it out soon so I can stop procrastinating on everything and get my life in order!
In parting, I ask you this... Have you ever run out of gas? If so, what did you do?

Meadow-esque

Auri told me I could call her my muse. And there are two reasons as to why, but I can't seem to remember the first one. Oh, wait, it just came to me. I'm special, I know. Being that she's my HLP we spend a considerable amount of time together. Although, not so much lately because of her effing migraines. Moving on... Occasionally when we're hanging out, we'll have moments of temporary insanity where either one or both of us flies into fits of giggles and silliness. During many of these fits we have come up with some funny shit, a lot of which we still refer to on a daily basis. And most of the time, if we try to explain it to someone later, it turns out to be one of those "had to be there" types of things.

Anyway... let me attempt to explain a couple of them to you. She and I were IMing on our CrackBerrys the other day (because we're cool like that - we don't need to talk on the phone, we just IM each other all day long). I think she was telling me which part of Twilight she was on... no wait, I was telling her that I was stuck in meetings all day. She asked if it was totally rad/awesome/tubular, I said no, none of the above (I have no idea why she was having '80s vocabulary flashbacks). She then asked if it was "meadow-esque" (think Twilight) and I told her I was using that in one of my next blog posts. It was at that point she told me I can call her my muse. Apparently she gives me lots of blog post ideas? So, whenever something is beyond fabulous, you can call it "meadow-esque." Actually, no you can't. It's mine.

As for the second explanation: A few months back we were talking about someone I was dating (or thought I was dating - apparently I was confused - or maybe we are dating and I'm just not aware of that fact). We were having one of those giggle fits while discussing the situation and she burst out with, "You can't handle my java," in relation to this dude. I proceeded to use the line quite a bit over the next little bit, and then she informed me that I stole it. I wasn't aware she had laid claim to it. Apparently it belongs to her. So don't use it. Or use it and don't tell her. Or tell her you used it and let her get mad at you, too! Ha!

Well, for not having anything to write about today, I think I did pretty well for myself. I hope it made you giggle. If not, I'll make sure we come up with some more funny shit!

P.S. I'm trying REALLY hard not to post Twilight shit everyday, but it's not easy, because clearly, I'm obsessed. So, I may post a hot picture (as I did today), and then tell a totally unrelated story. Or a story with only a minimal mention of the obsesh. But I'm trying to diversify, seriously. I promise!

I Love My Bed

I feel like a loser. The last two days, I've come home from work, climbed in bed, attempted to watch Twilight, and fell asleep. Now, the point of coming home and getting in bed was to take a nap, but I feel like a shlub. I haven't done anything of importance in the last 28 hours. I can say I'm feeling better and think this cold that's trying to take me down isn't going to be too successful... but you never know. Last time I had a cold like this, it lasted for six weeks and turned into pneumonia and kicked my ass. I don't have the time to be down with that shit again. Well, I'm in sessions again all day tomorrow at work. I'm so not looking forward to it! Hopefully we'll finish early and I'll have time to write something fabulous... a few things on the agenda include: my nose blowing, the term "meadowesque", Britt & Paul's wedding, etc. I'll get to it all very soon. Oh, and I think I should get one of those new cars from India called the Tata Nano. Because I'm Tata. In case you forgot.

P.S. I'm watching the news and a story just came on about a 2-year-old pool prodigy in New York. This little cutie plays pool on a mini table and he could kick any adult's ass who challenges him. You have to look him up online.... so adorable!

I Had An Epiphany - And Now I Have A Confession

I had an epiphany as to the source of my dizzyness. It wasn't the pico. And now I stand here before you to announce that I am a dumbass. Yes, I admit it. The reason I'm dizzy is because I'm starting to experience withdrawal symptoms... because I CAN'T SEEM TO REMEMBER TO PICK UP MY EFFING PRESCRIPTION FROM THE EFFING PHARMACY!!! It's been 4 days since I last took my meds. I'm surprised I haven't crashed.. yet. That is all.

Random Tuesdayness - 5th Ed. - It's a Chinese Fire Drill

randomtuesday
It's Tuesday and that means it's time for the 5th edition of Random Tuesdayness. If you want to participate, cruise on over to Keely's Blog, grab the widget, post it, then write a totally random, completely insane post about whatever pops into your head. Captain Dumbass has likened it to emptying your mind of all the shit that has piled up in the last week and then dumping it here (no pun intended)! Here we go...

Paul and Brittany got married on Saturday and the wedding was amazing! I was entrusted with the job of her makeup, and she looked absolutely gorgeous, if I do say so myself. This is the venue where the reception was held. I'll be doing a post about the wedding later.

After the wedding, Noelle secured her place in heaven. Let's just say one of the girls that attended the party drank waaaayyyyy tooooo much (that's the problem with having an open bar - not everyone can control themselves). Karen and Jessica drove her to her house which was (thank God) only a few blocks away, and then the four of us got her into her apartment. In between this girl getting sick and us trying to get her into bed, Noelle got covered in stuff (I'm not going to elaborate to save your gag reflexes). Noelle held her hair, cleaned her up, and carried her from the bathroom to her bed - and has thus secured her spot up above. The rest of us were dry heaving...

So, I Love, Love, Love Urban Decay's Eye Shadow Primer Potion. It works amazingly well. So well that I'm abandoning my MAC primer for it. *Gasp* I know... I'm a traitor and a horrible person, but my hell, it works so well! Hey, I rhymed. I'm special! But yes, ladies, if you want your shadow to stay on, use this stuff. The color is beige, but once you rub it in, it dries clear and your shadow goes right on over it. Love it!

You all know I went to get Twilight on Friday night... but before we ventured out for the evening, Odum and I stopped at Barnes and Noble to grab ourselves a copy of GQ. I mean come on, look at those pics. I had to have some copies to hang up in my bedroom. I might need to go get another copy so I have pics to put up in my office. I was sad to find out that there were only a few pics of him in the magazine. I guess the others I found online were from the outtakes that didn't make the cut... or maybe they were from another shoot. I'll have to do some research and get back to you....

I also ended up buying the new Twilight Director's Notebook while I was at B&N. It's a cute little thing with all sorts of info and trivia about the movie making process. Kinda fun to see all the stuff that went on behind the scenes. It actually goes along very well with the extra bonus material on the DVDs. I've only gotten to look through a bit of it, but I'll let you know if anything insanely interesting comes up!

I went over to Auri's last night. Well, I guess I should rephrase that... I picked up Auri after work and we headed over to Tarjay to get our copies of their Twilight release. Target released a "Deluxe Edition" with three discs instead of the standard two in the "Special Edition" or whatever it's called. The third disc has a bunch of extra stuff on it, including a Vampire Kiss Montage (hot, hot, hot) and Edward's piano concert. It also includes a piece about the music used in the movie... all very cool. After we grabbed the DVDs, we headed for my house to grab my laptop, then ran over to meet Odum at Starbucks. Our little rendezvous was so I could copy the books on CD onto my laptop, and thus, my iPod.
After the swap, we went back to Auri's to have dinner, play with the kids, and watch some DVD extras. While Auri was putting Taryn to bed, I decided I wanted to play with Tristan's hair. He's growing it out... it's all swept over to the side... and I decided he needed a few ponytails. So he got five, to be exact... and he loved every minute of it. The kid is growing up so much it's killing me! Anyway, once he finally saw himself in the mirror he started cracking up, and actually left the hair in when he got in bed. Strange child, I know. This picture needed no prompting from me. Apparently he's learned to pose since Papa moved in. He's such a dork!

One of the deleted scenes on the DVD is of Bella and Edward walking in the woods. He tells her that her number was up the first day he saw her, and then they fall down and have a moment. The moment is HOT, I've seen it already, but Auri hadn't. I can't tell you how funny it was to see the look on her face after we watched it... over and over. You have to watch this scene, if it's the only part of Twilight you see. I promise you won't be disappointed... and if you possess any sort of sensuality in your soul, you'll watch it repeatedly. If you don't like it, I don't know if I can be friends with you.... just sayin'...

Rewinding for a minute... I went to a little fundraiser event on Sunday and got a henna tattoo done on my foot. I've been seriously considering getting another tattoo and really want one low on the inside of my right ankle... or the top of my foot. I can't decide. And since it took me years to decide on the one on my back, I'm not going to make any hasty decisions. Especially since I'll be able to see this one all the time. Anyway, I decided to do the henna down low to see how I'd like having something on my foot for a while.

The first picture is right after I got it done, and the second picture is from last night. Looks pretty cool, huh? I've never had henna before and I think it's really fun. And what a better way to see if you'll like having body art, right? I think I kinda like it. This means I may be getting more ink sooner than I thought. I'll let you know if I make any decisions. I may have to ask for some suggestions and/or feedback!

In other news, I think I'm getting sick. Scratch that, I know I'm getting sick, and I'm pissed. Remember how I thought someone spiked my pico yesterday? Well, I came to the conclusion that the dizzyness was due to me getting a cold. Much more plausible explanation, right? I started with a scratchy throat yesterday, woke up to it feeling like it was on fire at 3:30 this morning, and now just feel poopy. I'm on my 2nd Chai of the day to soothe my throat. I think I'll be going home early to get some rest. I can't miss any of the next two days at work. Way too much going on! Ok, that's it. Kind of random but not very funny... sorry... the sickness has taken it out of me! Maybe next week!

The Great Hoodie Debate and Other Crap

After much deliberation by my readers, the next sweatshirt poll was actually a pretty close race. "Mrs. Edward Cullen" came in with 2 votes. "A Sparkly Man From Forks..." and "Erica has lost her mind" both tied with 3 votes each (I personally don't know why anyone voted for the latter). And so, that leaves me with the winner which got 4 votes: "Forget Princess, I Want To Be A Vampire." Although, in my mind, that one and "A Sparkly Man From Forks..." are neck and neck. I think all of my friends voted for the princess saying for obvious reasons (read: I think I am a princess - my license plate even says so). Since I love my "Team Edward" sweatshirt so much, I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering another one very soon. Nothing like a good comfy sweatshirt to chill in, right? Right!

And for the record, yes, I am aware that one of the Twilight cast members was here in Salt Lake for the DVD release parties on Friday night. I even knew who was coming and where she was going to be. Here are the reasons I didn't go to see her: 1) I refused to go anywhere within a 10 mile radius of a WalMart during the release party for fear of being trampled by screaming teenagers and crazy Twilight Moms (I am neither of the two, and neither are the people I went with, so we, by default, are not nuts) and 2) I have issues with Victoria - and since the woman who played her (Rachelle Lefevre) was the cast member in Salt Lake, I felt no need to see her. Basically, if it wasn't going to be any of the Cullen family, I didn't really care! I know, I'm a bitch! And guess what I just found out? The Target version of the DVD has a 3rd disc with extras on it, including a download of the movie from iTunes, and all for $17.99. Just as a side note, Odum can't get the DVD to rip to his hard drive so he can load it on my iPod and his Zune.... So guess where I'll be going after work? Yep, to Tarjay! I know I have issues. Like I said before, I'm willing to admit it. And no, I don't have anything better to spend my money on, so get off my back! When we're in San Fran, lying in bed, three sheets to the wind, Noelle will thank me that we can watch the movie while we fall asleep!

P.S. Has anyone noticed that all of my posts are turning into Random Tuesday Thoughts???

Somebody Spiked My Pico

I just got back from lunch. When I got up 10 minutes later to go take a wiz, I felt a little drunk. And no, I didn't drink my lunch. I had Bajio. And it was yummy. But now I'm thinking someone spiked my pico because I'm super dizzy and can't really see straight. I don't know what other possible explanation there might be. Like, I don't know, vertigo, or something. I guess someone could have spiked my coke, but that explanation seems even less likely than the vertigo hypothesis. I guess I'll never find out. I hope it doesn't get much worse or I may not be able to drive myself home later!

Guess Where I Was Friday Night...

For those of you who either live in a hole, or don't read my blog regularly, Twilight was released on DVD yesterday. Noelle, Odum, Auri and I had planned to go to a midnight release party to get copies for ourselves. Yes, we're pathetic. We are aware of this face, and are readily willing to admit to it. Noelle's niece, Mimi, joined us, but Auri was unable to come becuase of exhaustion. I am totally sympathetic, but I'm bummed that she missed out. We started out at El Chihuahua for dinner and drinks, and then the rest of the evening was up for suggestions as to the remainder of the schedule. Noelle, Odum, Mimi and I had dinner and then were going to head to Auri's to pick her up. Since she decided not to come, we went over to Diva's for a cup of coffee and cupcakes. We hung out until 10, and then got in the car and started driving. We headed toward the avenues for the Blockbuster there figuring it would be the least busy. Well, lo and behold, we were the only car in the parking lot. Literally. After we sat around and laughed at ourselves for 20 minutes and changed parking places three times, Noelle finally went in and asked if they were having a party. The dude said yes, but from midnight to 1 AM. Um, hello, everything online said the parties were from 10 to midnight... hmmm... Whatevs!

After deliberating in the car for a while, we decided to grab Rose and drive over to 21st and 7th to see if anything slightly more exciting was happening at the Blockbuster over there. Once we got there, we realized that there was an FYE next to Blockbuster and they were having a party as well... so we decided to join in their festivities instead. We pre-paid for our copies and then hung around the store for 45 minutes until the DVDs were released at midnight. When midnight hit, then we had to wait in line to get our copies. I think we were there until about 12:30... and by the time we left, we were exhausted and delirious. At one point, Noelle was violating Odum and I with a display rack hook. That's how silly we got.
We had to drop off Rose, then Mimi, and then drive back to Noelle's to get my car. Then Odum and I had to drive home. Good thing he and I live essentially across the street from each other. I really wanted to go home and watch the movie but I didn't think I'd last that long, seeing as how I got home at 1:30ish. I got in bed and watched the deleted scenes and the extended scenes, and then turned on the movie. I lasted until the car crash scene, and then I was toast. My eyes were rolling back in my head and I figured it was time to turn off the TV and go to sleep!
I didn't have time to watch the movie yesterday because it was Paul and Brittany's wedding.... so hopefully, I can stay awake tonight long enough to watch it. If not, I may start having withdrawal symptoms...
