Playing Catch-Up, Great Friends, and New Toys

Random Tuesdayness:  You know what to do...
A few weeks back during one of my trips, the handle on my laptop roller bag broke. The bag is only a year old so I was kind of angry that it gave out on me. Let me tell you, wheeling a bag without a handle through the airport is a pain in the hiney! I found this bag online for a decent price and it arrived last week. I absolutely love it. The real test will come next week when I take it on its first trip. I'll let you know how she does!
I mentioned that I’m working on an afghan, and it’s kind of cracking me up that I’m so excited about it. My goal isn’t to make it look pretty and uniform, but funky and unmatched. I’ll keep updating my progress if I remember!
It’s no secret that I hate my phone, and that I’ve been pining for an iPhone for quite a while now. I finally broke down on Saturday night and bought one. The major bummer though, is that they were out of stock at the Verizon store, so I have to wait for it to be shipped to my house. And according to FedEx, that’ll be tomorrow! I am soooo excited and am sick of waiting! Apparently, I kind of “flipped out” at the store. At least according to Wiki and Jenn. I don’t really know what they’re talking about, but you can ask them if you want!
About 3 weeks ago I had the pleasure of having dinner with two of the most fabulous girls in the world… Aurs and Di Bradley (we’ve called her by her first & last name since we’ve been friends). We started off with pizza and wine at Setebello and then went onto BarX for a cocktail. We had such a great time catching up… we don’t get together nearly as often as we should!  I should also mention that Ty Burrell is part owner of BarX... put that on your list of unneeded trivia!
A few weekends later I went out with another group of my fabulous friends (RosaMarie & Jenn) and had dinner at Vinto. I’d never been there before and I absolutely love the place. The food is fantastic. The atmosphere is great. The service was excellent. And I can’t wait to go back! After dinner the three of us met up with ToniTone at BarX (are you sensing a theme here) for a few drinks. I hadn’t seen Jenn in a while and it was good to get caught up.
That same weekend on Sunday I took Mr. Aidan on his birthday date. I cannot believe he’s already 7. It’s freaking me out. We went to see The Smurfs and we both loved it! Before the movie started, he said, “Hey Tata, Barney is in this movie.” I was thinking, why the hell is Barney the Purple Dinosaur in this movie… then realized he was talking about Barney (aka NPH) from How I Met Your Mother. He also recognized “Gloria” from Modern Family, and George Lopez as the voice of Grouchy Smurf. I was dying!
Later that night, Auri and I went on a little date of our own to see Breaking Dawn. OMG, I loved it! Probably not my favorite of the series, but it was still good. There were a few super-cheesy parts that I would have done completely differently, but whatevs. I really liked where the movie ended in anticipation for Part 2, but really don’t want to wait another year to see it!
Also, I may or may not be in love with someecards… they seriously kill me! Freaking hilarious!
I want this ring.  That is all.

Finally, here is my beautiful Cass!  She's finally showing!!!  Isn't she cute???  14 weeks, I think... I'm convinced she's having a girl.  If she doesn't, I'll probably cry.  But then I'll get over it.

What'd YOU Do This Weekend?

Last weekend was so freaking busy! I got into town on Thursday afternoon, went home, took a nap, did some laundry, and watched some TV. I was pooped so I went to bed at a decent hour, I think. This is a picture (again) of the mirror for my bedroom... I need help deciding which wall to put it up on. Suggestions are welcome!

This is the cute door hanger I got for the front door. It's absolutely adorable... but the only problem is, it covers up the peephole on my door. Oh well, I'll just sic NeNe on those I don't know who dare knock on my door!On Friday night we ventured out to Red Rock Brewing Company to meet up with a big group of friends. Ethan was in town (and on break from fighting fires in NYC) and we wanted to get together and have a good time. That's Ethan, Kasian and Jen above. This was their version of "The Blue Movie." Those two were playing with the wheat on the table and decided to re-enact the scene from Avatar where the guy and girl plug their braids into each other's or their horse's, or whatever's?!

Dinner at Red Rock was great as usual. The food and the beer is always top notchl, and the company was fantastic. The server was totally cute as well. I kinda wanted to take him home!
Ethan and Kasian at Habits

After dinner we ran over to Habits to get our drink on and shake our bootays out on the dance floor. Too bad the crowd wasn't nearly as entertaining as last time!

Aww, loves from Ethan! Is there anything better?
On Saturday I ran errands with my Mum and ended up back at Home Goods where I returned the paiting I had for my bathroom and some pillow cases. In return I got this loverly clock for the kitchen for $30.I put it up in place of the other one that the Bro bitched about. I bought this one because it didn't have a second hand. Well, guess what? It still ticks (my bad), but if he takes it down or takes out the battery, I'll beat him. And yes, that's my little brother, doing little brother things like jumping in front of the camera while I'm taking a picture. The set of 3 12x12 canvas paintings I got last week finally got hung up Saturday night. They're perfectly straight and look good, but I think I need to bring them down about 6 inches or so. What do you think? Here is the final after-shot of the family room with the new and improved carpet and nicely concealed couch! It looks amazing! I love it! Much warmer and more inviting. Now if I could find a cool lamp to replace the one on the table, we'll be set. Oh, and some shelves for behind the big loungey chair. Then I'll be done!
This is the little tidbit I found at Home Goods while looking for art for the bathroom. It just popped out and said, "Take me home!" So I did. And I'm going to hang it up in my boudoir. I had every intention of doing that last night but didn't get around to it. I was wiped out! I'll come back with pics of that and the new pics in the bathroom hung up and ready to go!

Hope y'all had a productive weekend as well!

Vegas 2010 - Day 2 In The Books

Apparently I didn't take any pictures during the day on Saturday... Not exactly sure why, but I'll have to steal some from Lisa! I still got a ton that night, so I'll save you a lot of narrative and just share the pics!Oops, that's a lie... I got a few on my phone! On Saturday morning we all got together for breakfast at the restaurant at the hotel. It's kind of amazing we made it to breadfast considering how long it took us all to get going. And that only involved us going downstairs in our jammies. Breakfast was nummy... yes, I just said nummy.

After breakfast about half of us got ready and headed to the pooloo! That was most of the reason we went in October this year! The rest of the group either wanted to nap or go explore on their own, so we went our separate ways. Can I just tell you how relaxing it was lying by the pool?!
By the time the wanderers/nappers joined us Jen, Kasian, Cassi and myself decided to head toward the outlets. We needed new purses, duh! The four of us spent a few hours shopping while the rest of the crew made nice with the Canadians. I'm not sure how the story goes, so you'll have to ask them about it.Naturally we spent too long shopping ~**cough**~Jen & Kasian**cough**~ and had to rush back to the hotel to get ready for our dinner reservation. Thankfully, I didn't have to do anyone's makeup so it didn't take us too horribly long.We split into two groups and grabbed cabs over to Caesar's for dinner at Trevi. It's right inside the Forum shops. The food was pretty good, but I thought it would have been better given all the great things I'd heard about the restaurant. Auri said I was being picky. I say she was being a bunghole.
After dinner we had to run and grab provisions at Victoria's Secret and MAC and then ended up at the Shadow Bar inside Caesar's. I'd say it's a pretty chill place to go sit and have a cocktail, or 10. It wasn't quite what we had in mind for our wild ways, so we went next door to Cleopatra's Barge. We spoke with the door man to see if there was enough room for a party of 12 of us to come in and have a table. He said he could get us a table if we ordered bottle service. So, two bottles of Skyy vodka, cranberry juice, pineapple juice, water, a few Red Bulls and $250 later, we were all happily sloshed. Well, most of us, anyway.Cassi's friend Miles and his woman, Elizabeth I think, joined us for the party and I'm so glad they got to reconnect. It had been eight years since they saw each other.
We danced laughed and drank the night away... It was wonderful! Here's Odum and Cass.
Aurs and Lisa
Miss Thang and Myself... yes, I was wearing a skirt... for the first time in like 8 years.
Rosie Gonzales and Leanna... seriously only the 2nd pic I have of them!
Nellie and myself chillin' in the corner... By the way, it was like a gazillion degrees in there!
Seriously, bottle service rocks! Next time I think we should shoot for somewhere a bit cheaper!
Ahh yeah, baby!
After a little mishap (someone may or may not have gotten sick and this year IT WASN'T ME!!!) we reconvened in the bathroom (that had this fabu little couch and sitting area) and decided to move the party over to Carnaval Court.
Cass was dancin' all over the place. Odum was smart and got in on the action!
Damn! That boy gets around! If there's a hot woman dancing, he's all up in her business! Me and my Kasian! You can tell how hot I was because my hair was wet! Gross!
The Hot Mamas posing for a Kodak moment!
Elvis made an appearance over at good ole CC and Kasian grabbed the photo op!
Awww, three of my favorite girls!
Yes, leave it to the Mistress to insert her hand totally inappropriately into the picture!

And with that, we're out! I'll be back shortly with Day 3!
