Randoms and Stuff

Been thinking of moving over to WordPress... feedback is welcome!

My mailman hates me.  I didn't get my mail for a little over a week.  So he put a 10-day hold on my mail.  I went to the post office yesterday to get it and the guy couldn't find it.  WTF?!  So annoyed!

Milli peed on  my bed.  Again.  For the 4th time in the last two months.  Which means I've had to wash ALL of my bedding four times in the last two months.  Duvet, comforter and all!  I'm so done with the puppy-stage!  That's her on the kitchen table, coming to say hello.

The "non-girlfriend" is back at my house.  I'm less than thrilled about this.

I have a severe case of eczema on both of my hands, and I suspect, my left foot.  It's really ugly.  And annoying.  I've tried almost everything.  Any suggestions?
I've been a crafting fiend this week.  I'm making lots of fun goodies for gifts this year and I hope everyone likes them!

I'm so over the dogs barking, I could scream!  They bark at E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G!!!

I think I'll start spraying them with the squirt bottle.
I need a vacation in the worst way.  And I have no money.  So there goes that idea.  Good thing I started back at yoga, huh?

Have I mentioned my TV is on the fritz?  Well, word on the street is that Santa is bringing me one.  I can't wait to have a TV that actually turns on without having to hold down the power button indefinitely.

I lurve my new iPhone.  And now I want an iPad.  I'll be taking donations...
I miss my man so incredibly much.  Have I mentioned I hate that he lives in TX now?  Seriously.  It's effing lame.  We're having a webcam date on Sunday.  I'm sooo excited to see him!

BigMamaCass is having a Boy!  I was really hoping for a girl, but ya know, it's not my baby... it's just so much more fun to shop for girl clothes!

Sometimes I think I want kids.  Sometimes I don't.  Hmmm.... what to do, what to do?

Random Tuesdayness - Better Late Than Never... Or the Official 600th Post... And There May or May Not Be a Giveaway Involved, But Probably Not

randomtuesdayWe have a new fugly button, people! Rejoice, or something. So guess what? This is officially my 600th post. Isn't that nuts? Either I have a lot of very profound shit to say or I like to hear myself type. Possibly a mixture of both which means I type a lot of shit. Hmmm... well, you signed on, so I'll do my best to keep you coming... back, that is. Ha!
Another official announcement? I love Glee. I mean, I know I've said I like the show in the past, but I've been catching a lot of the episodes I missed last season and I really love this show! The NPH episode is on right now and it's fab-u-lous!

I'm back in Oklahoma this week. Every time I go to type Oklahoma, I try to type Oaklahoma. Strange, I know. I think I like this project better than the one in Alabama... but don't tell anyone.

Apparently there's a tropical storm/hurricane called Hermione or something (I know it's called Hermine, but I keep thinking it's Hermione, and I kind of love that name even though I haven't read the Harry Potter books... not that that has to do with anything) that hit land in Texas yesterday... the remnants from it are heading toward Oklahoma. Great. Just great. I swear if I see a tornado, I'm gonna flip the fuck out.

I know someone who thought you pronounced "Hermione" as "Her-moyne."

Have you seen any of the Allstate "Mayhem" commercials? They freaking crack me up! Here's a medley of a few of them.

I'm trying to decide if I should put my swimsuit on and go downstairs to the hot tub. The pool/hot tub in this hotel shares a window with the main restaurant. Um, yeah. I don't really want everyone dining to see my huge ass in my swimsuit while I'm trying to chill in the hot tub. Who's friggin' idear was that?

I miss wearing all my cute heels. I can't wear them with my hip these days. Shit! And sadly, I don't own these shoes, but one day, I will. Oh yes, I will.
Auri and I had a great time with the boys at the pool yesterday. I can't believe what great swimmers they're turning into. Aidan is a little more adventurous than Tristan is right now and he's cracking me up. He swims under water, he can "glide" and he only panics from time to time. Just keep swimming, little man!

Did y'all see this little girl on America's Got Talent? She made me cry. Absofrickinlutely amazing! Fast forward to 1:35 to see her sing. The rest is about her story.

Being that it's the 600th post, I should do something to commemorate. But since no one wants to sponser shit over here, I'm not doing a giveaway or anything...but I could be persuaded into making another "mixed tape" and sending to to the first five who express interest...or 7, if there are that many of you who want one. Actually, how about a copy of the "Vegas Mix 2010" I'll be making for our trip in the next few weeks or so? Let me know.
I'll be back this week with a recounting of the Los Alamos trip and my Labor Day weekend! Ciao!

TV, CDs and Books, Oh My!

Season 3 of True Blood premiered on HBO Sunday night. Auri, Jessica and Noelle came over for a little partay. It turned out not to be much of a party, and just a bunch of girls sitting around watching TV together. We had fun in spite of the party-less atmosphere. As for the show itself, I think I was expecting a lot more from the first episode. Maybe it's because I've waited sooo long for Season 3, or maybe just because I expected to have the whole season wrapped up in one hour... I don't know. Don't get me wrong, it was good. Especially seeing Eric's naked tush. I could take some of that in every episode and be totally fine with it! I can't wait for Sunday night to watch episode 2. I wonder when Alcide is going to be introduced?Continuing with the TV theme, my other favorite show, Entourage, premieres in a week and a half. Woo hoo! I've got a date with Vince, Eric, Turtle and Drama that night, so don't bother trying to contact me. I'll be busy. Those boys make me hot!For my fellow Christina Aguilera fans out there, I purchased her new album last week and am liking it pretty well. There are a few songs that make me say, huh? And there are others that I absolutley love! But I guess that's the norm with most albums, right? If you haven't heard it yet, I'd definitely recommend giving it a listen to. I also bought Taio Cruz's new album and have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I was kind of expecting it to be a lot of rap and songs that didn't speak to me, but it's not that way at all. I was a bit turned off by the fact that he's got a song on there he does with Ke$ha, but it's actually really fun. I can't remember what it's called, but it is Track 3 and it's dirrrty! Love it!If you've been reading my blog for any amount of time, you'll know that I'm in love with the Black Dagger Brotherhood. J. R. Ward's most recent addition to the series is called Lover Mine and I finished it about two weeks ago. This one is about John Matthew and Xhex (if you are wondering what the hell I'm talking about, I don't blame you) and I really enjoyed it. I had a hard time finishing it knowing that I have to wait another year for the next book to come out. If you're a BDB fan and haven't read the 8th book yet, go get it. You won't be sorry!

Well, that's it for my multimedia mass review. I hope y'all have a great weekend... I'll be back soon with a recap of the Joss Stone concert!!!

Random Tuesdayness - The Mainly Vampire Edition and a Pin Up Girl

randomtuesday
Okay, okay, okay. I realize it's 11:23 PM on Tuesday night and you still haven't seen an official RTT post from me yet today, but I promise I'll deliver the goods. This is officially the latest I've ever completed a Random Tuesday Thoughts post but I've been busy all day. I'm a slacker. I'm sorry. If I entertain you with pasties and a thong, will you forgive me?

If you want to play RTT, go check out Keely's blog at The Un Mom and she'll tell you what to do.

Hmmm... let's see. I didn't even really prepare anything for this today. Obviously, since I'm posting so late.
As a result, let's chat about this hot scene from Sunday night's episode of True Blood. OMG, Holy Mother of God, I needed a new pair of panties after watching it. And it wasn't even a scene involving hot sex. It was just two absolutely beautiful naked bodies lying in bed and making out. H.O.T. Can I say it again? Whew. Let's just say I'll be rewatching that scene multiple times in the next few days. I wonder if I offer HBO shitloads of money if they'll let me recreate the scene with Eric and let me play Sookie.

I have multipe small cuts on my hands/fingers and I have no idea where they came from.

Back to True Blood. I'd like everyone to be fully aware of what a complete sap I am. I bawled my eyes out at the end of the episode. I don't think I've cried during a TB episode before. Maybe shed a tear or two, but never bawled. Well, I bawled on Sunday. Yeah, it was that good. Go watch it. Now. Oh, and I think Godric is hot. Even if he is young.

Plus, Eric is fucking beautiful in it and you'll thank me for it later.

The dog started making some weird-ass noises about five minutes ago and scared the shit out of me. It sounded like something was seriously wrong. I think she was just dreaming.

I'm watching Craig Ferguson and I just took an Ambien... this could get interesting.

By the way, make sure you go check out Auri's blog for the first of our Toy Review Posts. All of the toy reviews will be posted over on her blog because she's got an "Adult Content" warning on it... and I don't... and I don't want to go through the trouble of adding one. She talks about her favorite clitoral stimulator and gives a play by play of her favorite features. I talk about the fact that I don't particularly like that one... I'll be reviewing my favorite next week.
Allan Hyde is the actor that played Godric in True Blood... I can't find much about him on the fly. Eric's real name is Alexander Skarsgard and is from Sweden. He's going to be in the new TV Guide, so watch for him. He's hot. Did I mention that I'm in love with him. I want to do him. I want to lick his arms. If anyone can hook me up, let me know. I may be having an epiphany here. He may become my new obsession... I'll let you know.

So, I saw this little video over at Clever Girl Goes Blog (aka Tia) today and I thought I'd share it with you. Make sure you're in an area where repeated squealing won't cause disruption to your coworkers, neighbors, sleeping spouses, or sleeping puppies. I squealed at least twice while watching it. Don't say I didn't warn you.... and then tell me what you think about it! I am so excited I could pee my pants. I'll try to control myself...

Here is your weekly dose of hotties. Guys, I'd like your feedback on the girls I've chosen for you. Let me know how I'm doing. I'm trying to keep them pertinent to the subject matter at hand. This is Anna Paquin who plays Sookie Stackhouse in True Blood. I think she does a pretty good job... and the sex scenes she does are Hawt!

The one on the left is Sabina Kelley. She was a suggestion from my brother and although I'd never heard of her before, she looks pretty hot. Hopefully she meets at least one of your boys' approval! If not, let me know. I'm totally open to feedback.

P.S. My frined Candace from Sarcastically Bitter is coming to Salt Lake City to visit the crew. I'm sooo excited. You can be sure there will be much blogging to come from those shenanigans.

The Ambien Rooster, More To Love and The Deva Fuser

Remember my good friend, the Ambien Walrus? He cracks me up (not that I think drug abuse, hallucinations and murder are funny). I wish I could find more cartoons of him online, but so far, there are only the two I've posted on here before. I took an Ambien last week on Thursday night because I had planned to sleep on the couch (due to the supposed bed bug infestation I thought I had). Jessica had been over earlier in the evening so we could watch the SYTYCD results show, and I told her before she left that I was taking an Ambien. I think (because I can't remember anything these days, and the memory goes straight to hell if I've taken Ambien) when she left she told me to watch out for the Ambien Walrus.

A little while later I received a text from her saying to beware of the Ambien Rooster. I have no idea where the Rooster came from but informed her the correct term would be the Ambien Cock. There have been countless jokes about the Ambien Cock for the last week or so. If you think of any good ones, let me know.Jessica and I have had quite the TV watching marathon this week. She came over on Tuesday night and we watched More To Love on Fox. It's the new reality show that is similar to The Bachelor, but for big people. We were both really excited to watch it, but about halfway through the show, we were both totally annoyed. First of all, not everyone looks good in a dress. Especially really tight dresses that show off way more than everyone else needs to see. The object is to hide the rolls, not flaunt them. Second of all, I cannot stand obnoxious big girls. They're the ones that figure because they're large, they need to be pushy and rude and obnoxious so as not to let others walk all over them... or to get attention... either way, they annoy the hell out of me. Thirdly, we know you've never had a boyfriend and we know you've never been on a date. How is it possible that we know this? Because you told us the first time you introduced yourself and subsequently every time you talk to someone. THERE IS NO NEED TO REPEAT IT EVERY TIME YOU'RE ON THE FUCKING CAMERA!!! We get it!

The thing that bugs me the most about this is that the women they've chosen to be on the show, while cute and outgoing, have horrible self images. And I know it's not easy to have a fabulous self-esteem when you weigh more than everyone else... believe me, I KNOW... but seriously? Every single one of them talked about their downfalls in life, and how much they just wanted to "find someone who will love me for who I am and not how I look." We know you want to find someone, we all do, but that's why you're on a reality TV dating show. Right? It's one thing to be honest and open... another to be unflatteringly desparate!

Anyway, I'm sure I'll watch all the episodes just to see how it turns out, but God help me, I may lose my nerve in the meantime!

I just got home from shopping at Ulta. Sometimes I love that store, sometimes I hate it. And I just realized my hand smells like weed. Could it be some of the product I tried? Who knows, but that's what I'm going with.

Anyway, I bought a new diffuser for my hair. (At this point, I realize I've probably lost the men.) It's called the Deva Curl Diffuser (or the Deva Fuser, I'm not sure) and it's supposed to be fabulous. It's shaped like a hand and blows the air in 360 degrees around your head, as opposed to blowing in one spot (I know how dirty that sounds, and yes, I'm going for the double entendre). (Quick lesson for the dudes - if they're still reading - a diffuser "diffuses" the air from a hair dryer so that curly hair doesn't get frizzy when it's dried.) I'm excited to try it out and see how it works. And because it was $35, it better work like fucking magic! If not, I'm taking it back! I also bought the DevaCurl Mist-er Right... I'll let you know how I like it. You should check out their website and read about their "No Poo" shampoo.

Have any of you tried any of the Deva line, or know someone who has
? Lemme know!

Well, I'm off to take a nap. I'm home early from work and I'm exhausted... my bed is calling me. I need to find some energy because I have to make dinner tonight. Home made marinara sauce, meaballs and fresh mozzarella. I'll let you know how it goes!

Say Hello to Jenn from Free and Flawed

Hey Kids ~ I signed up to do another blog-swap over on 20Something Bloggers a couple of weeks go and was paired with a lovely lass named Jenn. She's here today, and I'm over there... or at least I will be as soon as I get my post written and sent over to her! Without further ado, I introduce you to Jenn!

Hello. My name is Jenn and I am a TV-a-holic.

I used to make fun of my parents because they plan their week nights according to which TV shows are on. They have three TVs and before they discovered the awesomeness that is DVR, they used at least two of them to record TV shows. Though I'm no where near the level of addiction of my stepdad (he keeps notes on American Idol - seriously - notebooks full of rankings.) I'm getting eerily close. What could happen to push me so close to the edge? Oprah.

Hear me out. I'm a freelance writer and spend a majority of my time in my living room playing Mario Kart working. My day begins and ends with the news. There's a mixture of awesomeness in between, including Ms. Awesome herself, Oprah. I know that by the time she comes on, I should be starting my work day.

Recently I've been spending time in Los Angeles. While working from my hotel room I caught a commercial on ABC for Oprah. The commercial told me to catch her at 3 p.m. Three? Three?! That threw my whole day off! Obviously I have a problem if I'm letting TV control my life.

It's not only Oprah. I can thank MTV for making me fear pregnancy. Thanks to 16 and Pregnant I want kids even less. At first it was the pain that scared me. Then I realized that I would probably treat my kids like I do my gadgets - the first one would end up stuffed in a closet once the new one comes along. There's a good chance it would get sold on eBay after some spring cleaning. After watching this show, I realized it's because I couldn't handle my 16 year old having a child. They're already going to need therapy, why add on the sessions?

And then there's Maury. Maury, Maury, Maury. It's always the same thing: "I ain't yo baby daddy!" "I caught you cheatin' on me!" Yada, yada! But I get sucked in every time. I can't focus on my work until I know that yes, he did make out with the hot model in the green room. I may or may not join in the audience with boo'ing and heckling.

I can see that I get too involved with the TV shows I watch. I smile when they smile. I cry when they cry. My landlord is lucky I don't throw chairs when they do. The lack of cable helps though; my choices are limited. Could you imagine what my life would be like with HBO?

... I'd be a druggie addicted to sex and vampire blood. On the other hand, making out with gorgeous vampires wouldn't be so bad after all.

I'm A Little Teapot... DWTS On Tour!

I grew up dancing. I remember watching Solid Gold with my mom in the very early '80s and trying to dance like the people on TV did. My mom recognized the joy this brought me and enrolled me in the beginner ballet/tap class at the local dance studio. From ballet and tap I moved onto Jazz, and considered myself a jazz dancer until I got to junior high. From there I started branching out into contemporary and hip hop, and eventually danced on the 9th grade dance company at my school. (I felt very priveleged to be part of it!) After that, I danced for one year in high school at a private studio and then gave it up to focus on school. To this day, I wish I had kept up with it. Someday, maybe I'll venture back.
Anywho... with all the new dancing shows on TV I've been pacified for now. My favorite is "So You Think You Can Dance(SYTYCD)," and my second favorite is "Dancing With The Stars (DWTS)." The DWTS on Tour came through Salt Lake at the end of December and my dad got tickets for us to go. When I say us, I mean my grandparents, me and a guest of my choice, which of course, was Auri. Unfortunately, the guy who got the tickets for my dad got fired the month before and we were only able to get 2 tickets, so I ended up going on a date with Nana.

About ten minutes into the show I remembered I had my camera with me, so I started taking pictures. I then remembered my camera has video capability, so I grabbed some video of the performances. The video is down at the bottom of this post. It's about 3 minutes long, I think.
So, the first picture is of Cheryl and Maurice. The second picyure is of four of the couples... I think it was Cheryl, Edyta, Marlee Matlin and Tony Braxton. The picture directly above is the end of one of the group dances and you can see just about all of them.
This was one of my favorite dances. Lance Bass was the main character and he was surrounded by Lacey Schwimmer, Kim Johnson, Edyta, and Cheryl Burke. It was a cute little number... very entertaining. He was the center of attention and all the girls wanted him. Not too far from his everyday life, I'm sure. Too bad he's gay!
This is the shot at the end when they're walking toward him on the chair. See if you can click on the pics to see them bigger or more clearly. If not, I'll email them to you. Oh, and watch the video below.... it's adorable!

Oh my God, I have ISSUES!!!

I don't know if any of you remember from a post, or another blog, or a social networking site long, long ago, somewhere in internetland, that I mentioned I'm a reality TV junkie? Well, I can no longer say I'm a junkie and not have the confounding proof to back my shit up. My junkie-ness was officially confirmed last night when I watched Momma's Boys. I had never heard of it, but I flipped on the TV when I sat down to continue working on the Vegas blogs, and it was on. The show is seriously appalling, but the shit on there makes for some great entertainment! The pic here is of one of the contestants... and he's a firefighter! Hotness! You can put this fire out, baby!
