Where the Hell Have I Been?

It was recently brought to my attention (thank you, Jaime) that I've fallen off the face of the earth.  I kind of forgot I had a blog to maintain!  I've been less-than-enthused to blog lately and have been up to my eyeballs with work.  It's really feast or famine, isn't it?!  Anyhoodle, I started a new blog over on wordpress but I'm not entirely sure if I'm going to keep it up.  I kind of got a bug up my butt to start it, and now that I have, I'm wondering why I can't just do those posts over here.  Hmmm... I think I've already made up my mind, but give me a day or so. 

Here's what's been going on:

Work has been nuts.  We're trying to get a document ready to send to the Feds and it's kind of a mess.  I'm traveling next week for work for the first time in almost two months.  It's been sooo nice being home.

I've been yoga-ing like crazy and I love it!  I've totally immersed myself in it and I can't seem to get enough.  Being sick and not able to go to class has really put a damper on my attitude this week!

I may or may not miss my coworkers just a little bit.  There's something to be said for having face-to-face interactions with your coworkers and clients on a semi-regular basis.  Sitting at the kitchen table talking to the dogs all day while you try to get work done will slowly (but surely) make you insane.

I've been cooking like a madwoman!  And it may or may not have something to do with my addiction to Pinterest.  I've found a lot of yummy recipes over there and have tried quite a few of them out. 

I've currently got bronchitis.  Or something.  The doc didn't really give me a diagnosis when I saw her yesterday.  But I'm on antibiotics and if I'm not feeling markedly better by tomorrow, I'm calling her to go in for a chest x-ray.  I'm exhausted.

The parentals are floating around somewhere in the Carribbean as we speak.  I kind of hate them right now.  What do I get to do?  Watch 3 dogs all week.  Lucky me.

The last time I saw my boyfriend was in August.  Sad, I know.  But I finally have plans to see him next month!  Right in between his birthday and Valentine's Day, so it better be good! 

Gerard Butler's new 'do is super sexy.  I guess he's got long hair for a surfing movie he's doing. I absolutely cannot wait for it to come out!

Speaking of hot men and movies, have y'all heard about the new movie coming out called Magic Mike?  It's about strippers.  Male strippers.  And guess who's in it???  Matthew McConaughey, Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello!  OMG!  Hello!

Alrighty then... I'm off.  Gotta check on my crockpot Tortilla Chicken Soup and have a lie down on the couch... my lungs hurt!

Random Tuesdayness - Music and Movies and Longing

It's Tuesday... for a little bit longer... time to get some random thrown into a post for y'all. Keely is still boycotting the whole thing, but there are a few brave souls out there who have taken on the challenge! Go talk to them or link up if you wanna play!
Oh, how I love me some Mumford. I need more Mumford in my life. A new album would be much appreciated... or at least a concert in a city I could easily attend. (BTW, that's not my picture, I found it on tumblr... isn't it fab? It belongs to Eryn Inglis...she's got some other great sketches over there, too.)
I found a new band last week that I've fallen inlove with. I don't know much about them other than I love their music. They're called The Naked and Famous... the single on the radio is called Young Blood... Go check 'em out. This is one of those bands whose music elicits a physical response from me.Off on a totally random tangent, this is another thing I saw on tumblr this week and it really caught my attention. No matter what side you're on, it gets you thinkin', doesn't it?Do you see the fugly afghan sitting on that couch? I want it. Or at least I want to make one just like it. Anyone have any idea how to do so? I can crochet rows of things, and a few flowers, but I need to figure out the squares. Thoughts? Advice? It'd all be muchly appreciated. Fanks in advance. It's no secret that I'm inlove with Vin Diesel. I mean, come on... the man is effing hot. I realize his look doesn't appeal to everyone, but hot damn, I'd love to throw down with that boy! Needless to say, when I found out Fast Five was slated to come out, I squeeled... a lot. You can bet your asses I saw it over the weekend!

Auri and I went on a date Saturday night (I'm liking this Aurs/Tata date night thing every other weekend) and did the dinner and a movie thing. We ate at a new restaurant in Salt Lake called Rice and it was delish. If you like any type of Asian food, this is the place for you. Their menu includes items ranging from Sushi to Teriyaki Rice Bowls to Thai food and it's all very tasty. Prices are very reasonable as well.All I'm going to say about the movie is that it was perfect. Absolutley perfect. And if you go to see it, make sure you stick around long enough after the credits to see the bonus scene at the end. You won't be sorry you did. Then come over here and we'll talk about it. Trust me, you'll want to. I'll be here waiting for you when you get back... go on now... you're going to be late!

Random Tuesdayness - I Noticed I Actually Have Cleavage While Looking at Myself in the Mirror Sitting in Front of the Computer

This "limited internet access" at the office shit is really interfering with my blogging. The funny thing is, I think I've been trying harder to get things posted because I know I won't be able to while I'm at the office. Lame! And believe me, last week, I had P.L.E.N.T.Y. of time on my hands! Anyway, you should know by know that you're in for a RTT post, and if you wanna play, go talk to Keely. Mini weekend recap:
Thursday night - got home from OK, went to dinner with the 'rents at the Cheesecake Factory (and had no cheesecake!), went home and nearly keeled over after seeing the couch... more on that later.
Friday - Got my nails did, chilled with the dog, did lunch with ze Mum, did a bit of shopping, saw the doctor, had dinner at Noelle's, went dancing with the girls.
Saturday - Had lunch with ze Mum again, ran some errands, chilled at home for a few, took a nap, babysat Auri's kids for a few hours, crafted with the girls... and have a fabu painting to show for it (I'll take a pic of it and post it later).
Sunday - Went to Red Butte Gardens with Wikiball, Toni, Trent & the kids (Auri decided she needed a migraine and so Trent stood in as her sub), went home to pack, did a few things around the house, went to the airport to catch my flight.

And that brings us to now... I'm back in Koaklahoma this week. That's what Noelle decided the state should be renamed as over the weekend. And that wasn't such a mini recap.

In other news, the corners of my lips cracked two Thursdays ago and are FINALLY staring to heal. Talk about pain in the ass! Eating has been a bit of a challenge to say the least! Cracky lips suck!

I've been on a cleaning/organizing kick the last few weeks and am so excited to work on things over the weekend. That's the hard thing about traveling for work... I'm stuck in a hotel during 70% of my free time and I can't help but wonder what I could be getting accomplished if I were at home.

Random Tuesdayness - I Didn't Forget This Week

Working from home has its advantages... not necessarily having to get up at a certain hour; getting your work done at any hour of the day; sitting in front of the TV in your pajamas until you can't stand yourself any longer. It also means that I get to blog more often which I'm loving. Thus, I give you another installment of RTT. Go talk to Keely if you wanna play!

My toe ring broke. Not as in, not able to wear anymore, just cracked on the seam. I guess the jerk who soldered it didn't do a very good job! I guess that just goes to show you have to do everything yourself if you want it done right. The toe ring I made myself in high school jewelry class is still holding strong. We're about 14 years into wearing it!

I really want to paint and decorate my house. I'm so sick of looking at white and beige all day long. I need to paint and then find a really fabulous slip cover for the couch and some awesome art or decorative elements for the walls. I'll start with the kitchen/dining/family room and then move onto my bedroom and bathroom. Any suggestions? Wikiball, I'm chanelling you!

I ate a fairly late breakfast and then went to see New Moon for the 5th time with Odum yesterday afternoon. Naturally, I ate a lot of popcorn so I wasn't hungry for dinner until about 8:30. Around 11, I got really dizzy and then nauseous, and woke up the exact same way this morning. Yuck! I stayed in bed until around 2, and now I'm feeling much better. Hopefully I stay that way for the remainder of the day.
My brother decided he's getting a puppy and I've got mixed feelings about all of it. He and his buddy B~Love have even gone to the trouble of building this puppy a custom dog house. It's pretty fabulous if I do say so myself... but it's currently sitting in the back yard unfinished and it needs to get done! You can be sure I'll share pics of the baby if and when she gets here. I guess she's in the oven right now.

I know I've talked a lot about the most recent vampire series (The Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward) I'm reading but I can't remember if I told you I finished it... Because each book in the series focuses on one of the characters in particular, I decided to go back and re-read the series because I know there was a lot from the first 2 or 3 books that I missed. I just finished the 3rd book for the 2nd time last night and I've really enjoyed catching a lot that I missed from the first time around. I know I'm weird for re-reading books so often.

Eclipse comes out in 127 days and I'm so excited. As much as I liked New Moon, Twilight remains to be my favorite of the two. I'm anxious to see how Eclipse will turn out, keeping in mind that it will be a lot like New Moon because they were shot back-to-back by the same director. I wonder what's going to happen with Breaking Dawn... Anyone heard anything?

Watching David Bromstad (Watching him in general isn't a problem as he's so damn hot. Too bad he doesn't play on my team!) on HGTV's ColorSplash has made me want to learn to paint. As in, not paint the walls, but paint pictures. I'm not a very artistic person, so the idea of very abstract art calls to me. I love watching him come up with the most beautiful paintings to add to his clients' homes. I'm going to look into taking a class.

Speaking of classes, I think I either need to watch more cooking shows, or take a cooking class soon, because I'm going to go broke eating out. It's not that I don't enjoy cooking so much, it's more of the fact that I don't know how to cook for just myself and I'm not very good at just throwing things together. Maybe I just need to mark some pages in my cookbooks and dive in. What do you think?

Random Tuesdayness - The One Where I'm Stuck in Dallas

Oh, my love... the only thing getting me through this horrific stay in Dallas is the hope that you'll show up and whisk me away to your place where we'll have hot, passionate sex over and over again until my flight leaves tonight...

As you might have guessed from the title (and my initial tangent), I'm in Dallas. And no, it's not because I thought I'd take a detour and summon Eric to make sweet love to me... it's because my effing flight got cancelled last night and they can't get me out of here until 7 PM this evening. But since it's Tuesday, I have a civic responsibility to bring you Random Tuesdayness and I don't plan on letting you down in these crazy times. Here's the lowdown: Grab all your psychotic and neurotic thoughts, throw them together in a post, and call it Random Tuesdayness. If you want more explanation, go talk to Keely.

Looking at pictures of hot men is about the only thing getting me through at this point. If you saw my blog from yesterday, you know what happened. If you didn't, go back and read it because I don't feel like reliving the nightmare! I have some work to do on a huge spreadsheet this afternoon, and I actually have a place to sit and work with internet. The only problem is there's a glitch with the document, so I'm waiting for a coworker to fix it for me. I'm blogging in the meantime. This isn't very random.

In other news, I can't wait for New Moon. I think the countdown is around 55 days or something. Jessica and I were making bets as to how much money we thought we'd be spending over the course of that following week seeing the movie over and over again. I'm guessing upwards of $100. We're crazy. We know. All my friends and I have tickets to see the show already. I can't believe it, either.By the way, did I mention in my post last night that while I was waiting for my luggage, I started hallucinating? Yeah, the floor was moving in waves. Don't ask cuz I don't know.

I have a confession to make. I've contemplated this for a while now, and finally decided to give in... I bet you're wondering what I'm talking about... I'll tell you only if you promise to keep it a secret. I packed something naughty to bring with me on my trip. Something in the way of an adult toy. And I've had fears of someone in security seeing it. When I got to the hotel last night, I had a TSA card in my suitcase saying it had been inspected. Hope they didn't see it!So anyway, I'm down to less than 30 days until my house is completed. That means we close shortly thereafter and I'm so excited. Too bad I'll be spending so much time in Alabama and won't get to enjoy it enough! I've got a lot of stuff for the house already. The last two major things I need are silverware and blinds or curtains. At this point, it all seems surreal. Very weird.Have I mentioned I miss True Blood? I wanted to die on Sunday when it wasn't on. It's sooo not fair! At least Entourage was on... and it was a great episode. Can I just tell you how much I love Lloyd?! I can't imagine the show even existed before him. He is absolutely fabulous! Can't wait to see what happens with him. I think he's my TV Gay Bunghole. If you need an explanation on that, ask Odum.The Emmys were on Sunday night and there were some gorgeous dresses on the red carpet. Did y'all see Blake Lively? I thought she looked fab... and figured this would be a good place to insert a hottie for the boys. I hope you like... I think she's adorable and I like the movies I've seen her in. Not Oscar-quality acting, but kind of your every-day girl. She seems like a very chill and down-to-earth kind of person.

Well, there's an RTT for you. Not my best, but not my worst (I hope). I'll be back tomorrow with something exciting if you're nice. Maybe a vlog or something.

Random Tuesdayness - The One Where I've Been on a Massive Hiatus

Wow... I can't believe my lack of blogging the last week and a half. It's kind of scaring me. The sad thing is, I'm not going to have much time to do much blogging in the next couple of days, either. This blows! Anyway, it's Tuesday, so go grab Keely's button at The UnMom and play along with Random Tuesday Thoughts. It's fun. I promise.

I had a dream I was a vampire on Sunday night. Rosalie was in it and everything. Then at one point I was topless. It was kind of disturbing. Sadly, I didn't get my True Blood fix this week. The show took a little breather (aka, trying to kill me with anticipation) over the Labor Day weekend. The season finale is next Sunday!

I'll be traveling to Alabama tomorrow and then every week for the rest of the month. If anyone knows any great blogs written by any Alabamians, let me know.

I still have to post about Candace's trip here two weeks ago. We had such a good time, and I have some really great pics to share... I need to get around to it. I would have done it today, but it's Tuesday, and there are rules around here. Entourage was also taking a breather this week. What the hell man? Because some people may go out of town on a holiday weekend, the rest of us losers who have to stay home have to suffer and not get to see our shows?! WTF?!

Packing for the move is giving me anxiety. I've only had to pack all my shit and move once in my life. This is weird.

I bought a bunch of stuff for the house over the weekend, including a fridge yesterday morning. We got up at the ass crack of dawn to stand in line at RC Willey to get a good deal. I guess that makes lack of sleep worth it!

I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THIS MOVIE COMES OUT!!!

My travel schedule for the next two weeks is God-Awful. I'm not looking forward to it. Let's just say I'm going to be spending A LOT of time in airports for the next little bit. Not my idea of a good time, to say the least.
