Kinda-Wordless Wednesday

I realize this is a bit sappy, so if you want to read something funny, I actually posted yesterday!

A Few Thoughts

One of my favorite quotes

I had a conversation with someone the other day, and while I'm looking VERY forward to things coming up in April and May, I'm looking EXTREMELY forward to some things in either August or September!!! I'm swooning a little over here!

"All things, as they are happening,
are happening in perfect order.
And if you will relax and begin saying,
'Everything is unfolding in its perfect time.
And I'm enjoying where I am now,
in relationship to where I'm going.
Content where I am, and eager for more,'
that is the perfect vibrational stance."

Things I Ponder While Traveling (or Shit I Think of While I'm Stewing Over Someone's Screwup)

Some thoughts on traveling from a mostly well-traveled girl...
~I've always had this glamorous picture in my mind about what I thought traveling for work looked like and what it meant... but the reality of it ain't so pretty. Sure it's fun for the first few or even dozen trips, but after that, it gets old very quickly. If you have the chance to do it, go for it and gain the experience, but be forewarned, it can be extremely exhausting.

~Overbooking - what's the point? I've heard of flights being overbooked but never a hotel. I understand that there will always be those last minute cancellations, but what the hell is someone to do when they're away from home and the reservation they made holds no merit? There damn well better be a back up plan. ~Cab/shuttle/bus drivers should NOT discuss politics with their passengers without prompting from their passenger(s) first. There's more than likely multiple issues we'll disagree on and I don't want to discuss them with a) someone I don't know and b) someone driving the car I'm in for fear things will get heated and I may end up dead as the result of a horrific accident because the driver went all ballistic about whether or not they should build a mosque at the site of the WTC. Ugh!

~There seems to be an inverse correlation between the appearance of a hotel's lobby and its rooms. Nice lobby=shitty rooms and vice versa... but maybe that's just my perception.

~There's always a surprise waiting for you on the other side of the hotel room door. It could range from a) very disappointing to b)what you were expecting to c) phenomenal... but you'll never know until you slide your key into the reader and turn that handle. Consequently, you can get a pretty good read of what your room is going to look like depending on the appearance of the door. Ugly/old door? Good bet your room will look like that as well. (Funny note: That's the room number I was assigned in the first hotel yesterday.)

~If a hotel is going to test its fire alarms, don't you think it's best to conduct those tests during the middle of the day when the hotel is least populated with guests? Why not do it when most people are off the property for the day? 5:30 PM is NOT one of those good times.

~Restaurants and room service in hotels are highly underrated... you tend to forget how nice those amenities are when you're used to staying somewhere without them.
~Why does a hotel allow me to check-in online the day prior to my reservation and then tell me there are no rooms available when I arrive?

~Is it just me, or do planes and elevators seem like time/space continuums? You get in, the doors close, and then either seconds or hours later, you've been transported to another place (and essentially you're transported to another time when you change time zones... but hopefully not in an elevator)!

~What's up with hotels with "smoking" rooms? What about the clean air act? Why is ANYONE allowed to smoke indoors anymore? More importantly, why are cab drivers allowed to smoke in their cabs? I can assure you, you'll have far fewer customers overall, and virtually no repeat customers if they have to shower after leaving your vehicle.

And that brings this bitch session to a close. What are things you don't understand about the travel industry? Anything like what I've described or other horrors I've yet to face?

Can You Find Alabama On A Map?

Am I the only one who doesn't know where all the states in the US are located? When in conversation someone mentions a specific city or state, do you think to yourself, "Hmm, well, I know the approximate location of that place in the country," but could never point it out on a map?

If not, I guess I'm the only one.

(I had a bigger version of this originally but it wouldn't fit on the page... sorry it's so small!)

When it comes down to it, I know the general location of most states... north, south, east, west... but anything east beyond Colorado (minus the immediately surrounding areas of Alabama) is up for grabs.

Even worse, since 7th grade world geography, which was approximately 17 or 18 years ago (holy shit I feel old) so much has changed, and sadly, I haven't kept up with it all. I'm gonna have to start learning things all over again.

I've also become interested in the geography of the South... mostly because when I'm in the plane flying over things, I want to know what I'm looking at. And, I usually have no clue.

In any case, I'm going to make a concerted effort to re-learn US geography, brush up on world geography and try to learn some of the main points of interest down south!

So seriously, how would you all rate your own geography skills?

You Gotta Hear This Band!!!

Y'all know how much I love music, and I've recently found a fabulous new band I want to share with you. Well, I guess I didn't find them per se, but you know what I mean. I first saw them on Letterman (2/17) and when they started playing I wasn't quite sure what I thought about them... by the end of the song I was intrigued. I saw them again about a week later (2/26) on Craig Ferguson and decided I was in love and had to have the album. Of course, my pea brain forgot about it the next day and it took me until today to get it.

Anyway, the band is Mumford and Sons... I thought they were Irish, but apparently they're British. They've got an old school Irish sound in my opinion, but they were listed as "Alternative" at the store. Whatever! You can check out their website if you like.

Just watching them perform mesmerizes me. There are four guys... one on guitar, one on banjo, one on the keyboard and one on the upright bass. The lead singer plays a drum with his foot while he sings and plays guitar. I don't know how performers sing and play one instrument at a time, let alone two. I'd fall over without a doubt!

If I've piqued your interest, check out the video from their Letterman performance below. If not, then I don't know what to tell you!

(Sorry about the captions, but it's the only video I can find that will load!)

I'm a Bit Late Jumping on the Bandwagon

Auri and I went to see Avatar this evening. Yes, I'm a bit late getting around to things. I've heard from multiple people that yes, the graphics and CGI is absolutely amazing, but there was really no storyline. Um, did you pay attention at all to the movie? There was a very prominent storyline that I caught... apparently the rest of y'all fell asleep. Yes, it was loaded with political undertones, but aren't most movies these days? Have you heard of the Hurt Locker or the Green Zone, or Tommy Boy? Ok, maybe not Tommy Boy, but come on guys... it was an amazing movie. It had a fantastic storyline... yes it had a message, yes it was pretty obvious, no it didn't ruin the movie.

If you haven't seen the movie yet, see it while it's still in theaters. I can't imagine it would be anywhere near as fantastic on your TV at home. I also can't see how it would be half as good in 2D... make sure you grab a pair of the funky glasses when you go in! I'm planning on seeing it at least one more time because I know I missed a ton trying to take everything in. Plus, I thought it started at 8:30, but it started at 8:10, so I think we missed about 5 minutes of the beginning.

For those of you who've seen it, what did you think?

On a completely different note, I'd just like to mention that I love Michael Sheen. He's the actor that plays Aro in the Twilight movies. He's completely creeptastic in the movies and hilarious in person. Well, not in person, but when I've seen him on Craig Ferguson. Look up some of his clips, I adore him! He's Welsh and he's fabulous! Try and pull up a clip of him on the Ferguson... you won't be sorry!

I'm Such a Cliche

I mentioned in one of my posts last week that I went out on a date with a new guy. I didn't go into detail about it or bother to mention that we had a second date planned because I didn't want to jinx it. Now you're going to get the story because I need to get it off my chest and move on. I saw this on FB the other day on my friend Brooke's profile and it really spoke to me. I'm trying to remember these things right now.

Just so you know, I'm getting really sick and tired of writing about how many jackasses I meet!

So the first date was the day before VDay. We went to dinner and then to a movie and had a really great time. Or at least I thought we did. During the next few days I asked if he wanted to get together in the coming week and he said yes. I offered to cook dinner at my house and suggested we could watch a movie. He said Thursday night worked best for him and I called him on Wednesday night to confirm.

I cleaned the house, got dinner ready, then sat here and cried for the rest of the night after he didn't show up.

After having so many bad dating experiences, it's hard not to wonder what's wrong with me. Everyone tells me how wonderful I am, but it's hard to see that when I'm treated the way I am by all these assholes!

A message to him:
You didn't show up for dinner... seriously? That was probably the worst anyone has made me feel in a really long time. You don't even have the decency to call and say you're not coming, you're not intersted, this isn't going anywhere?

You just decided to ditch me and then cut off all communication out of the blue? I don't understand how we went from communicating every day for almost two weeks to you just flat out standing me up and disappearing.

At first I thought something might have happened and I'd get a call or a text in the next day. Nothing. And now I see that your profile picture has changed on the dating site so I know something horrible didn't happen to you, you're just a giant douche bag with no fucking manners.

Grow some fucking balls. Have the gumption to tell me you're not interested. Don't lead me on. Don't give me false hope. Don't tell me I'm beautiful and then make me feel like a piece of shit. The least you could have done was give me an answer as to why. I think I deserve at least that much.

Why do I feel like I'm constantly writing letters to men who are assholes? Why do I get treated so horribly by guys? I honestly don't understand it. It hurts. It makes me question myself. It makes me question humanity in general.

Auri gave me some good advice after crying my eyes out to her the other night... other peoples' negative behavior has nothing to do withme or who I am, but everything to do with their general lack of decency and/or manners. Putting the situation into perspective that way helped a lot.

I find myself not wanting to tell anyone (best friends, mom, etc.) about any new guys I meet or any dates I may go on because they all end so badly. Getting stood up the other night made me feel like the biggest fucking cliche. The stupid girl who falsely gets her hopes up only to be crushed by the guy who she thought was interested. If I don't tell anyone about it initially, then I don't have to tell them that it didn't work out and save myself the pity party.

Anyway, I think I'm done bitching. There's probably more I wanted to say but can't remember it. If you've made it this far, thanks for reading. I could use a little advice right now!

Honesty? Really?

Update: I got an email via Facebook from him about an hour ago. He said his phone hasn't been working and he sent a message to everyone on Facebook to give them his work cell phone number. Obviously, I didn't get it. He said when he didn't hear back from me he figured I didn't want to talk to him anymore. I told him I thought the same thing on my end. What do I do?

Don't tell me that one of the most important things to you is honesty when you have no intention of being honest with me. How is it possible that you can be so absolutely complimentary toward me and tell me how much you like me, and then just stop communicting with me? Why did you feel it was necessary to reel me in and then dump me on the side of the road like it was just a game to you?

I absolutely fucking despise the fact that your actions, or lack thereof, have caused me so much grief. I hate the fact that someone else (read: you) had the power to affect my emotions the way you did. The only person in my life that should have that power is me, and me only. Not a piece of shit like you.

I am floored at your actions. I have no idea how you did a complete 180 after the connection we appeared to have. Apparently that was just me getting my hopes up, letting my guard down, and being a stupid girl who expected waaay too much from someone else. I thought you were different, but I was so very wrong. I thought you and I would be able to enjoy each others' company and see where things went, again, I was wrong.

All I know is that because of you, my opinion of men has once again taken another big hit. There are still the few I know that are actually good guys and would do anything for anybody. You and the rest of the assholes out there like you can kiss my ass.

I think I feel the worst about the fact that I could feel you pulling away two weeks ago and I tried so hard to keep things going. I should have listened to my instincts and walked away without so much as a backwards glance. It's the least I could have done for myself. It's more than you did for me in the short time I knew you.

The Swirlings Around in My Head

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, underwhelmed, emotional, closed off, loved, unloved and everything in between these days.

I started seeing someone and everything was pretty gung-ho in the beginning. Now I'm getting mixed signals from him and I'm not sure what to think.

I went over to my parents' house today to drop off the dog. I was helping them put away some of the Christmas decorations when they got into an arguement. It was then I realized how utterly happy I am that I have my own house and don't have to deal with crap like that anymore. Yeah, I'm 30 years old, but it still upsets me quite a bit to see or hear my parents fight. I went in the house, got my purse and said goodbye. I told my mom that I'm not coming over anymore. She responded by telling me to tell that to my dad. I let her know it was because of both of them and I'm hoping that simple statement got my point across. I'm pretty sure it upset her, but I'm not really that concerned at the moment.

I came home from my massage tonight and had every intention of chilling by myself. I really wanted to just curl up with my book and read for a few hours. Or blog and get some things off my chest. The thought of cleaning or doing things around the house crossed my mind, but didn't really hit a chord with me. So what did I do when I got home? I brought all the boxes in from the garage and go them emptied along with the few that were in the office. I really wanted to spend the night reading, but I'm beyond happy that I got all my shit put away!

I'm in the middle of reading Eat Pray Love and I'm really liking it. I'm not very far into it but I have half a mind to pack my shit and head to Italy. What could be better, really? I can't wait to see what the rest of the book has to offer. A little spiritual guidance, perhaps... or maybe a revelation of some sort. I'm not sure, we'll see what happens... I'll let you know how it goes.

Ok, enough venting for now. Ciao!

A Few Thoughts For The Day

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones that you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain

I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Random Tuesdayness - It's My GD Effing 400th Post!!! Hotties, The Kush and a Porn Star

randomtuesday
"Welcome to BioDome."
"Welcome to the future."
"Welcome to the place where I'm going to drain my lizard." - BioDome

Not sure where the hell that came from, but it seems like a good start to Random Tuesday Thoughts... brought to you by Keely at The Un Mom. If you don't know how it works by now, that's not my problem. This post is waaay too long to go into an explanation...but keep reading, cuz it's good!

I was watching Letterman the other night (which was more like a week and a half ago because I started writing this on Friday) and his guest was Grizzly Bear. I'd never heard of the guy so I decided to give him a listen. As I was watching the band, I noticed the four people on strings in the back and was intrigued by their plucking as opposed to playing with their bows. Then it dawned on me, the guy on viola was a good friend of mine from high school, John Richards. Totally crazy!

Mr. Gorilla Bananas introduced us to The Kush a few weeks ago and I'm thinking about getting one. Per the website...

Kush Offers Comfort For:
Side Sleepers, C-Cup Breasts or Larger, Breast Implants, Post-Operative Recovery, Pregnancy, Nursing Mothers, Preventing Cleavage Wrinkles, Proper Spine Alignment

I'm buying one just to prevent cleavage wrinkles... Unless I have any volunteers to do the job for me?!

Just overheard in our kitchen (this was said in a joking manner - don't freak out):
Dad: (to me) And you want to leave me alone with her (referring to my mom)?
Me: You're a big boy, you can handle her.
Dad: Well then don't be surprised if you come home and find her dead.
Such a loving family...

My very first teacher in 7th grade who taught my art class insisted on being called Mr. Banana. It didn't occur to me until a few years ago how disturbing this was.

As requested last week, I'm offering up some eye candy for the boys and the girls! As an aside, I'd totally do him and I'd switch teams for her! If you don't know who they are, you're obviously living under a rock!

And of course, some TLautz, too! Oh, Jacob, how you've grown up!This is our pooch, Fergie, aka Fergalicious (just for the record, I came up with the name waaaay before the song came out). She likes to clean her beard after she's had her dinner.

Seeing how this is my 400th post, maybe I should get around to answering some of the questions you guys posed in my 300th post... just a thought! Here goes:

Elisha asked: What made you choose the career path you followed? How/when did you get interested in makeup?

I kind of just fell into my current career. I'm not sure how much I like it... As for makeup, I've always loved everything about it. I remember watching my mom when I was little and just developed a love for it!

This picture of Jenna Jameson was taken by Josh Ryan and her hair & makeup were done by Alexis Vogel... it's one of my favorite pics! I wish I were as good an artist as this! I have something to work toward!

Auri wrote: Dude... Hmmm... there has to be a question that I could ask that you've never answered...Have you ever regretted not following your initial path to becoming an MD? If you had continued on what type do you think you would be today given your preferences now?

I sometimes feel badly that I didn't continue on with it, but at the same time, I remind myself how much sacrifice I would have had to make and think I made the right choice.... not that I know what I want to be when I grow up! If I had continued, I'd still go with Obstetrics.

Well, I hope you've been entertained. If not, let me know what I can do to keep you coming back for more!

P.S. I have a huge crush on Ms. Jameson - don't judge me!

P.P.S. Boys... Did you get enough hotties for one post, or do you need more?

Free Hugs

I read on Twitter that my friend Anna is having a crappy day, so I clicked on her most recent blog post to see what was up. All the title said was "need a hug" and was followed by a few words with a link to another post.

Naturally I clicked on it and watched the video. I have to admit, I got a little teary... but I love it.

I think we forget how important the power of touch is. Take some time to give someone you love a big hug...I'm sure it'll cheer you both up!

Hope this brightens your day! And Anna, I hope the rest of your day is better!

Random Tuesdayness - This One's Truly Random

randomtuesday

It's Tuesday and time for Random Tuesdayness (aka, Random Tuesday Thoughts). If you want to play, go visit The Un Mom for all the rules and regulations because, frankly, I'm sick of telling you about it!

Remember how I went to the Arts Festival over the weekend? Well we ended up parking in this really shady parking garage. It was around the back of the building and then underground as well. It totally reminded me of the opening rave scene in Blade where everyone was dancing and then the blood bath started. Creepy. But we made it out alive!

I had a meeting at 8 this morning. I got to the office, walked halfway to the building and then realized the meeting was downtown. I felt like a tool. And I was 30 minutes late.

Noelle and I saw a man running across State Street (I think) in nothing but running shorts late on Saturday night. We always see the strangest, most random shit while driving at night.
While I was watching Auri's kids on Sunday night I happened to look out her front window and saw a man riding bike pulling lawnmower behind him. Steering the bike with one hand, pulling the mower with the other. This picture isn't it (obvi) but it paints a picture...

Results from my sex poll: What is your favorite posish?
Missionary: 7
Spooning: 6
Cowgirl: 6
Doggie: 7
Reverse Cowgirl: 2
Other: 2 - If you chose "other" you have to leave a comment and share! Now own up ladies and gents!!!

Dark meat chicken is disgusting. They should only make white meat chickens... wow, that sounds really racist! I just don't like it.... it's gross.

On my way home from grabbing lunch yesterday I saw a man and woman walking up 21st south in their bathing suits and nothing else. I sure as hell wouldn't be walking around in next to nothing. These people were middle aged and didn't have what I'd call smokin' hot bods!
The Black Eyed Peas' new album rocks! I love it. I bought the 2 disc edition from Target and it's fabulous. My only complaint is that there are some things that are bleeped out and others that aren't. I'm wondering if it's that way because it's the Target version? Anyone know?

Lyrics from track #8: Ring A Ling
Honey, I, oh I, I got somethin' for ya, baby
'Cause if I'm callin' at 2 in the mornin'
It only means one thing, baby

'Cause my phone go ring a ling a ling, ling
Ring a ling a ling, ling, ring a ling, a ling, ling
Ring a ling a ling, ling, ring a ling
Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello

Then the girls want ding a ling a ling, ling
Ding a ling a ling, lind, dina a ling a ling, ling
Ding a ling a ling, ling, ding a ling
Dam, dam, dang a lang

I decided I really want a metallic pink beach cruiser. Anyone want to donate to my cause? I will totally take donations here people!

Have I ever mentioned I have OCD? Only in relation to certain things... but it's getting worse as I get older!

Remember the "prize" I won on Earth Day from Eden Fantasys? Well I finally tried it out... and guess what? I love it! I would definitely recommend a glass *ahem* to anyone. When discussing it over coffee with Rose and Noelle a few weeks ago, Rose once again expressed her concern about it breaking, shattering, getting dented... Noelle then replied, "It would take an act of nature, God, Congress and the Catholic Churh to dent a glass dildo."

Is it weird that I dream about my ex a lot? It's starting to drive me crazy! I had a pretty hot and steamy dream about Vince from Entourage the other night. Can't wait 'til the show starts!

I officially love Proactiv. I think I should become its new spokeswoman. The stuff is working wonders on my skin and I'm in awe. Yes it is pricey, but totally worth it in my opinion!

And as always, some RPattz eye candy for the girls! FYI - 143 days until New Moon comes out!!!

I Want To Be a Loser

I'm half-tempted to re-start my weight loss blog. Maybe I can do weekly updates. If I do, I'll keep it private and invite people to read it.... half because I don't want the world to see it, and half because I'm not so sure that many people would be interested. Let me know if you're interested in keeping tabs on me...

Weight is not something I've really ever discussed on my blog and I'm not sure why. Maybe because I think that if I don't think/talk/write about it, it will all just miraculously go away. Or maybe because I'm too much of a coward. I don't know.

I think it might also have to do with the fact that my blog showcases me for who I am... and has nothing to do with what I look like. Except for all the pictures I choose to post. This allows me to control how much of me you see and get to know. And really, you're getting pretty much all of it... you see me when I'm happy, sad, raw, angry, and neurotically obsessed. You get all of the emotions - those I never hold back. But you haven't ever really seen the most tender part of me. Why I decided to start writing this 15 minutes ago is beyond me, but I am. I guess I'm reaching out, because at this point, I feel like I need all the support I can get.

I saw my therapist last week (yes I have a therapist, and yes I see her regularly, and yes I adore her - I think I've mentioned this before) and had a weight-related Coming To Jesus talk. Since I'm not religious and I tend to have a lot of revelations while in therapy, I should rename them Coming to LaDonna talks. Anyway... she said something to me that really hit home. I can't remember the exact words she said, and I'm not going to share them with you because they're private (and I don't pay her so you can reap the benefits) but they really resonated with me. And it was more because she just laid things out on the table and didn't try to make me feel better about it. Basically, she said it's time to shit or get off the pot.

No one can make me happy but me, and while I've said this over and over in the past, it finally means something. Not that it didn't have meaning before, but it's a lot more relevant at this point in my life. I'm 29 years old. I've done all (well, most) of the things a single girl can do. I had fun in high school. I went to college and got a Bachelor's degree. I worked, dated and played for a few years. I went back to school to pursue a Master's degree. I completed that last year and got a great job. I own my car and am in the process of trying to buy a house.

The last major item on my list of things to do is get married and maybe have a kid, or two. Now all I have to do is find a wonderful man to share the rest of my life with. While some people may say this is the last item on their list of things to do, it's at the top of mine. And the only thing standing in my way is my weight, for two reasons: 1) I let my weight and all my issues surrounding it hold me back, and 2) Men are not attracted to big girls. And as much as I'd like to say "Fuck You!" to all the men who judge me for what I look like and aren't attracted to me for who I am, it's not going to get me anywhere. This is who I am. I've let this stand in my way for far too long and it's time to get my shit in gear.

I don't think this is going to be easy by any means, but I also don't think it's going to be as hard as it used to be. The thing is, it doesn't have to be hard (I'm just trying to channel LaDonna here). This is no longer something that I need to do. It's not an agenda item anymore. This is now my number one priority in obtaining my ultimate happiness. My weight is the only thing standing between me and the next couple of big goals on my list, and I really don't want to die without having fulfilled them!

Well, there you have it... (see what happens when I don't post for 4 days) All of me on a platter for your viewing pleasure. Please be gentle...

Jebus, Therapy, A Cute Boy & Friends

I had a "Come To Jesus" talk with the girls on Wednesday night (the girls being Auri, Jessica & Noelle). They helped me to see my dad's point of view on the home-buying stress & issues I'm having. Apparently I got a little too heated talking about it because one of the chicks at Cold Stone (mind you, we were outside) turned around and gave me a dirty look. Whatever. Auri actually reached for my purse looking for my phone. She said she was going to call my therapist and make me an appointment. Lucky for her, I already had one scheduled for the following day (which was yesterday)!

Speaking of which... can I tell you how much I adore my therapist?! She is wonderful. I've seen her for about five years now and don't know what I'd do without her. She even read my blog... isn't that funny? I figured it would help give her some more insight into my crowded little mind... and sometimes it's easier to write about things than it is to convey them in words. So yeah... I told her about the psycho. She thinks he's either a con-artist, or just a really screwed up weirdo. She's usually pretty close on these things considering she observes people's behavior for a living.

So yeah... I was also thinking that it's weird I participate in Random Tuesday Thoughts... because the majority of my posts are Random Whicheverdayoftheweekitis Posts. Oh well. At least they're fun and entertain me. That's the main goal here.

My grandparents were honored by the City of Holladay today for being Heroes in the Community. Pretty cool, huh?! They had a nice little lunch for them and gave them an award. They have the Kindergarten class from the Catholic school in their neighborhood come visit their garden a few times a year and the teacher came to the luncheon. She brought them presents and a huge "Thank You" banner made by the class. It was really cute.

One of my grandma's best friends is Jeanne. Jeanne is an amazing woman. She's from Boston, has lived in Salt Lake for at least 45 years, and still has a really heavy accent. I love listening t her. She called someone a "tree hugger" once, but she pronounced it "tree hugga," and my mom and grandparents had no idea what the hell she was saying. It was funny, but you probably had to be there. Anyway, Jeanne has cancer. It started off as lung cancer (I think) and has metastacized throughout her entire body. She was given three weeks to live well over three years ago, and she's still going strong. The Hospice nurses estimate she only has a few days left every week and she continues to prove them all wrong. I really adore her... she's such a sweet woman. I pray that she isn't suffering, but she's such a strong cookie, she'd never admit to anyone if she was. She was at the little luncheon today and it was so good to see her.

I have been the biggest slacker this week. I feel like I haven't blogged, but in actuality, I've posted everyday. I haven't gotten much done in the way of work... which makes me feel like a total loser... but I have the rest of today and the whole weekend to get things completed, so I'll be ok. This is when working from home isn't the best route to take. Oh well. Got the big assignment done about 20 minutes ago and have the next one to work on for the rest of the afternoon. I'll be tweaking them over the weekend.

I sent S an email on Monday afternoon and gave him my phone number. I think I already mentioned that sometime this week. Anyway, I didn't hear from him at all, and then yesterday morning I had a text from him. I was beyond excited. Obviously since I'm telling you about it. He and I texted back and forth all day yesterday and had some good conversation. I get a really good feeling about him. Auri said she did as well, so we'll see what happens. We've texted a bit today, but we're both busy, so I told him to either text or call me later... we'll see if he does!

I went to dinner with Auri and Di last night. Di, aka Di Bradley, is a good friend of mine that I've actually known since 7th grade. We didn't actually become close until 10th grade French class. Mr. Calder brought us together. Oh the memories. Anwyay, we had dinner at J. Wong's last night and it was really good. I'd definitely recommend it. The three of us decided we need to have a mandatory monthly dinner together. We don't hang out very often and that just needs to change.
