Playing Catch-Up, Great Friends, and New Toys

Random Tuesdayness:  You know what to do...
A few weeks back during one of my trips, the handle on my laptop roller bag broke. The bag is only a year old so I was kind of angry that it gave out on me. Let me tell you, wheeling a bag without a handle through the airport is a pain in the hiney! I found this bag online for a decent price and it arrived last week. I absolutely love it. The real test will come next week when I take it on its first trip. I'll let you know how she does!
I mentioned that I’m working on an afghan, and it’s kind of cracking me up that I’m so excited about it. My goal isn’t to make it look pretty and uniform, but funky and unmatched. I’ll keep updating my progress if I remember!
It’s no secret that I hate my phone, and that I’ve been pining for an iPhone for quite a while now. I finally broke down on Saturday night and bought one. The major bummer though, is that they were out of stock at the Verizon store, so I have to wait for it to be shipped to my house. And according to FedEx, that’ll be tomorrow! I am soooo excited and am sick of waiting! Apparently, I kind of “flipped out” at the store. At least according to Wiki and Jenn. I don’t really know what they’re talking about, but you can ask them if you want!
About 3 weeks ago I had the pleasure of having dinner with two of the most fabulous girls in the world… Aurs and Di Bradley (we’ve called her by her first & last name since we’ve been friends). We started off with pizza and wine at Setebello and then went onto BarX for a cocktail. We had such a great time catching up… we don’t get together nearly as often as we should!  I should also mention that Ty Burrell is part owner of BarX... put that on your list of unneeded trivia!
A few weekends later I went out with another group of my fabulous friends (RosaMarie & Jenn) and had dinner at Vinto. I’d never been there before and I absolutely love the place. The food is fantastic. The atmosphere is great. The service was excellent. And I can’t wait to go back! After dinner the three of us met up with ToniTone at BarX (are you sensing a theme here) for a few drinks. I hadn’t seen Jenn in a while and it was good to get caught up.
That same weekend on Sunday I took Mr. Aidan on his birthday date. I cannot believe he’s already 7. It’s freaking me out. We went to see The Smurfs and we both loved it! Before the movie started, he said, “Hey Tata, Barney is in this movie.” I was thinking, why the hell is Barney the Purple Dinosaur in this movie… then realized he was talking about Barney (aka NPH) from How I Met Your Mother. He also recognized “Gloria” from Modern Family, and George Lopez as the voice of Grouchy Smurf. I was dying!
Later that night, Auri and I went on a little date of our own to see Breaking Dawn. OMG, I loved it! Probably not my favorite of the series, but it was still good. There were a few super-cheesy parts that I would have done completely differently, but whatevs. I really liked where the movie ended in anticipation for Part 2, but really don’t want to wait another year to see it!
Also, I may or may not be in love with someecards… they seriously kill me! Freaking hilarious!
I want this ring.  That is all.

Finally, here is my beautiful Cass!  She's finally showing!!!  Isn't she cute???  14 weeks, I think... I'm convinced she's having a girl.  If she doesn't, I'll probably cry.  But then I'll get over it.

Letters to the People

I decided to write some letters...

Dear Babe,
I miss you.  Like, a lot.  Like, so incredibly much that it hurts.  As in, I'm ready to go to the airport, pay a gajillion dollars for a ticket, and hop on a plane to come see you.  I hate that we're so far away from each other.  And I hate your new schedule.  I'm trying to be patient, but it's REALLY hard.  Please make the next two years go by really fast!

I love you,
Me
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Aurs,
Thank you for waking me up at the ass crack of dawn on Friday.  I have a confession to make.  I only answered the phone because I was worried something was wrong.  Otherwise, I was waking up out of an Ambien haze and wanted to stay asleep for another 30 mins.  And I know it wasn't really THAT early, but since it was before my alarm went off, it was early.  But it made getting out of bed that much easier.  I'm glad you called.  I miss you.
Love,
Ta
Dear Wiki,
WTF were we thinking?  Seriously, I haven't been this worn out since I can't remember when.  I'm so glad yesterday is over with, and that if we decide to do it again, we've got 8 months to get ready.  I think it might take me that long to find the desire to craft again.
Your Relief Society Batch ,
Salti
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Work,
I love you... even though you're probably going to cause me to pull my hair out, scream, cry and get angry between now and the end of the year.  It's all a welcome change.

Your newest fan,
Erica
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Crazy MaryKay Lady at the Urban Flea Market,
I'm pretty sure you were on crack yesterday.  The Halloween luminaries were not cause for your hysterical fits of laughter.  Yes they were cute.  No they did not warrant your incessant giggling.  Lay off the drugs... they're not working for your personality... or your hair.
Sincerely,
One Crafty Utah Bitch
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Puppies,
Please, for the love of all that is holy, quit using the downstairs as your outhouse.  Seriously, this is getting old.  I'm sorry that it's cold outside.  And I'm sorry that you have to go out in the weather to do your bidness.  But I don't want to clean it up anymore.  And I'm sick and tired of the house smelling like it does.  It's gross.  Put your big girl panties on and start acting like the good dogs you are.

Love,
Your Pseudo-Mommy/Auntie
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Cass,
I am so super excited for you right now!  I think I'm still in shock that you're preggers!  I've been saying for a long time that you were going to have another bubba and you just needed to chillax.  I'm glad you finally listened to me!  Ha!  I'm so excited, you don't even know!  Also, this moving thing kinda sucks, but I know it's going to open so many doors for your family and it's the best decision for you guys right now.  I'm just being selfish because you're moving further away from me.  I'll get over it though... and thank heavens for Skymiles!  Plus, I've never gotten to visit Georgia... it'll be a new adventure for me too!
Mwah,
Auntie Ta
Camping Over the 4th - Yes, I Said Camping
Since I've been a bit busy the last few weeks, I haven't gotten my camping pics posted. I don't have the energy to post much, so here are the pics, with a few explanations!
E, Cassi, Tank, Monkey, Cassi's Dad and Step-Mom and myself went camping over the 4th of July. We went up to Woodland Park in Colorado Springs and had a blast!
This was at Lake Manitou about 2 miles down the road from our campsite.
Not sure if you can see, but there are two chipmunks on the lookout from the rocks... I named them Tank and E. They looked like they were contemplating the universe...
Such manners!
Cassi and her Mum
Me 'n' E
Cassi and her Dad
Mum & Dad
Monk was soooo tired!
Ooh, I love my sexy man!
That is one sexy boy!
Ladderball... not my favorite game!
She cheated and brought makeup... I didn't!
And that was the camping trip in a nutshell... there are a couple in the near future coming up, so wish me luck!
Memorial Weekend - Recap in Pics
I figured I've been so good at blog-slacking lately that I shouldn't change my habits any time soon. So, I give you my last Denver trip in pictures...These first two pics were from the Adele concert on Saturday, May 28th. Apparently we saw her last show on the tour because she had to cancel the last few dates. She was effing AMAZING!!! I can't wait to see her again!
We know how to stock a fridge and have a party! I think it was still half-full by the time we all crashed for the night. This was in addition to the 2 dozen Jello shots Tank thought would be a fun addition to the evening.
The boys grilled brats, hot dogs, and corn. Damn, that was some gooood corn! My man knows how to cook! By the way, we had "date night" the last night I was there and he made me dinner. Home made manicotti stuffed with chicken and spinach, red potatoes with asaparagus, and home made garlic bread. It was delish! He's so good to me!
We spent a lot of time chillin', grillin', and playing darts in the garage. Unfortunately, it was still a bit nippy outside, but we made the most of the sunshine when it was out!We may or may not have been drinking... can you tell? Hope your Memorial Weekends were as much fun as mine!
Much love!
Blog Slacking
I can't remember if I shared this cartoon with y'all before... but it cracks me up, and since I've been lacking in the posting department, I thought it might make up for something!
Has anyone seen Eurotrip? I've been watching it on TBS, so while all the good stuff was edited out, I'm still laughing my ass off. When Auri's oldest was little, he used to call this movie "Scotty Doesn't Know" ... if you haven't seen it, then the reference won't make sense. If you have, can you agree with me that Matt Damon looks ridiculously hot being pierced and tattooed with a shaved head? No? Whatever.
Anyhoodle... I realized yesterday that I haven't posted all week... nor have I been around to anyone else's blogs. I was in Denver for 5 days and then I was working from home the rest of the week. I forgot what it was like to work from home and used all my extra free time to get stuff done around the house... hence, the blog-lacking.
Denver was fantabulous... I got to see my baby every single day and I am missing him so incredibly much it's crazy. Cassi and I had sooo much fun shopping and dorking around and I can't wait to go back. I'm heading back to OKC tomorrow and will return with pics and a recap of my trip. Hope y'all had a great weekend!
rAnDoM tHuRsDaYnEsS - dOn'T aSk, bEcAuSe I dOn'T kNoW
~First things first... I now have a tumblr account... so follow me, bitches! I may have mentioned i while Ambien blogging the other night, but I can't remember, so don't hold it against me.
~I'm watching last week's episode of Glee (Blame it on the Alcohol) and I'm not sure how I feel about it.
~I'm really enjoying my new workouts... more importantly, I'm really enjoying the yoga practice I'm slowing incorporating into my life... seriously amazing.
~This is a pic from my walk around Lake Hefner tonight. Nevermind the random dude at the bottom of the pic. I was kind of surprised the camera in my phone took that! Big thanks to KrisTEN for talking a walk with me! What a gorgeous night!
~I really need to start packing so I can be ready to check out of the hotel in the morning.
~Has anyone else been paying attention to gas prices? WTF? Just because the Middle East is on fire, doesn't mean our prices here should be affected. Seriously. We have enough oil to supply ourselves for a VERY long time. Sursly.
~That's me channeling Whitney in The Bodyguard. Wasn't my idea, just kind of happened.
~Did y'all know that BigMamaCass is coming to visit me in 2 effing weeks??? That's it! 2 Effing Weeks!
~Speaking of which, Blogger Lunch that Saturday, March 19th around Noon... let me know if you're interested!
~Pretty sure if I lived somewhere very close to water... whether that be the ocean, a river, a lake, or a sea, I'd be a very happy girl!
~Would anyone notice if I moved to Colorado?
~There's a cute boy that recently came into my life that makes me smile. That is all.
