Random Tuesdayness - What Number Is This One?

randomtuesdayI've been trying to read everyone else's RTTs today but I'm taking a break so I can write my own... since I'm not cool enough to plan ahead and write it beforehand to post on Tuesday morning. Because as far as I'm concerned, then it wouldn't be random. I'm gonna pull this right outta my arse and give it to you raw. So yeah, anyway.... Random Tuesday Thoughts was started by Keely at The Un Mom and serves as an outlet to dump all the crap that's been floating around in your tiny little head into a clever and concise little post - basically because it doesn't fit in anywhere else. I've morphed it into randomness I pull out of my head as I'm writing it, which may or may not have been floating around in my cranium for a while. Moving right along...

I started my day off with a meeting downtown which isn't the ideal way to begin my morning. If I have to drive to the office downtown, 15 minutes is added to my commute.... I so don't miss driving on the freeway everyday. After the meeting a few of us decided we were hungry and we opted to do a late breakfast instead of lunch for the day. Naturally, I suggested the Original Pancake House... I was in dire need of a Dutch Baby (aka German pancake). Ok, maybe the need wasn't quite dire, but it sounded good.

After we ate, I headed back toward the office and couldn't deal with the film on my teeth (you know how you get that weird feeling on your teeth after you eat something with cinnamon in it? No? I guess it's just me) so I stopped by Walgreen's to grab a toothbrush and toothpaste to leave in my desk. I have to say, I got a really cool toothbrush, but I can do without the toothpaste. It makes my mouth numb. Not in the "Just came from the dentist and can't feel my face" numb, but a slight numbness, just the same. It's really annoying. Oh well, I wasn't paying $5 bucks for a large tube of what I usually use. I sound like such a Diva, I know.

Anyhoodle (I got that one from Tia over at Clever Girl Goes Blog - I can't take credit for it - but seriously, go check her out, she's effing hilarious) I thought I'd bestow upon my female contingent a little dose of RPattz love, because we all loves us some RPattz. Isn't he just so adorable? I just want to eat him up. And maybe hold him prisoner at my house. And put him to work. Doing things I can't really share with you on here... for obvious reasons. Don't judge me.

In other news, I'm happy to report I've snagged another one of my friends and suckered her into reading the Twilight Saga. Mwahahahaha! Ok, that was weird, I never do the creepy laughy thingy. But it was kind of fun. So, yeah, Jessica caved in and started reading/listening to the books. Now she's hooked, and I have yet another friend to accompany me to the midnight screening of New Moon (which will be released on 11/20/09 - I hear angels singing....)!
And just in case all that wasn't enough to make you want to scream a little, here is a picture of (in my humble opinion) the two sexiest guys from the movie. That would be Kellan Lutz on the left (aka Emmett Cullen) and RPattz (aka Edward Cullen, aka Hottest Man Alive and I can't really take it anymore). You're welcome ladies... I'll be cashing in all those favors now!

Speaking of Divas (see above in regards to toothpaste)... it is with much regret and sorrow to inform you that we'll no longer be staying there in San Fran. However, I have news to counteract the saddness we're all feeling. We got rooms at the Sir Francis Drake for $81 a night. Exqueese me? Baking powder? You heard it, kids. $81 bucks a night. I can't believe it either. The Drake is owned by Kimpton and they also own Hotel Monaco. I've stayed at Monaco here in Salt Lake, and let me tell ya, it was divine. The Monaco would outweigh the Diva any day. And if I remember correctly, they had pretty damn nice beds, too. Of course, Noelle and I will be snuggling again, but I think we'll get over it. Plus, we like to snuggle, right Nellie? And do you wanna know the best part about staying at the Drake? The Starlight Room is on the top floor of the hotel. That's the bar we went to last time that was so much fun... It's kind of an old-fashioned type club. I think it was founded in the 1930s, it has 360 degree views of the city, and has a great atmosphere. I can't wait to go back and shake my booty on the dance floor!

Officially, the countdown to San Francisco is 6 weeks and 2 days. Consequently, the countdown to San Diego is 7 weeks and 3 days. Woo hoo!
I was trying to think of fun places to take Noelle when we go to San Diego and I remembered Kono's. Hello, how could I forget Kono's?! It's a cute little place at the end of Garnet street where the street intersects with the boardwalk at the beach. Could the atmosphere be any more perfect? I think not. Yes, you have to wait in line, but the food is so yummy, and it's cheap, too. They have seating inside the restaurant as well as outside on the boardwalk. Um, hello, I think we'll be sitting outside. Unless of course it's raining, and then I'm just gonna be pissed. Pissed, as in angry. Not pissed, as in the British term for drunk/loaded/tossed/sloshed, etc. Although, if it's raining during any of the 48 hours we're going to be in San Diego I probably will spend the whole time pissed (as in the British term) so as to drown my sorrows in liquor.

In other news... I went to my Hostess club last night at Pam's house. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, I like to be crafty, I just don't necessarily know how to do a lot of things. My friends would probably argue with that, but I really don't. We get together once a month and Pam teaches us new crafty stamping/card making/scrapbooking techniques.

Last night we learned to dye silk flowers and then made cards with them. It was really easy but the dye didn't take too well to the yellow flower. It was really a lesson in patience because by the end of it, I was done.

We also made these cute little match boxes. You can put anything you want to in them... we did chocolates and even wrapped them in matching paper. You can use M&Ms, and 3 chapsticks will fit, too. I don't have the tool to make the cutouts, but it's really cool, and I may have to invest in one someday! I ended up giving that cute little box to my mum.

Well, I think I'm randomed out. Yes, that is a word. If you don't believe me, go check Wikipedia... but give me a minute so I can go submit the entry on the site... ha! Just kidding. I hope you're all having a fabulous week thus far. And I want to give a shout out to all of you new people who have stopped by recently! Thanks for checking me out, and I hope you keep coming back! More randomness to come....

Oop, I almost forgot... I wanted to ask a question. Have you ever been to Kono's, and if so, what did you think?

I love your craftiness. Those are cute! I do not understand the Robert Pattinson thing though. Maybe if he bit me I'd feel differently.

I can't believe I never went to Kono's, and I lived in SD for 2 years. I'll check it out when I'm down there in a few weeks.

Oh and I love Starlight room! Best views in the city. My friend works there!

So what do you suppose "pissed" means in Australia?

Mmmmm, pancakes *drool*

I didn't know New Moon was coming out that soon.

I JUST saw Twilight a few weeks ago for the first time. My friend just sucked me in about a month ago and I didn't want to see it until I finished ALL the books. Including Midnight Sun..

It was still playing at the $3 theater.

I can't wait for the next one to come out and have no idea what I'm going to do with myself now that I'm not engrossed in the books.

Blueviolet - Some people get it, some don't. I totally won't hold it against you!

Brooke - You have to drive down one weekend and go. It's sooo yummy! Hey, you could come down and meet us for breakfast!

SB - I'll wipe up the drool, no problem...

Jaime - Thanks. Yes, Kellan is super sexy. I'd do both of 'em!

Jen - I'm really not THAT crafty. I just follow the pattern. I don't come up with it on my own.

steenky bee - Why yes, that is the Pancake House on 21st. It's my favorite place for breakfast!

Keely - I wish I had the thingy to make more of them. They're so cute. Meet us in San Fran!

Captain - Ha, you're sooo funny!

Saskia - I get the same thing with spinach and I hate it.

GreenJello - I don't know, I'll have to find an Australian to ask. Ooh, that sounds fun!

Ashley - Thanks for stopping by. There will be plenty more eye candy around here, I can assure you!

M - Yes, the German pancake is so good! And yes, New Moon is coming out in November. Then Eclipse will be released next year in June or July. I can't wait! I need to read Midnight Sun already!
