I Had a Blast, You Blast!

Auri, Aidan, Tom and I ventured out to a little concert this evening and had an absolute blast. The title of the post is what she said to me after I dropped them off! It's funny that when the weather starts getting warm, everyone starts venturing outdoors. And thank the Lord for that, because we were surrounded by beautiful men all night.
Earthfest 2009 is the closest I've gotten to Kokua thus far! Baby steps... Earthfest was a free concert hosted by a local radio station (107.9 for those of you who are local) and it was held in honor of Earth Day at the Gallivan Center. I found out about the concert on the station's website and after I saw the lineup, I decided I had to go.

Forgive me for the lack of quality pictures. These were all taken with my BlackBerry. I, for some stupid reason, forgot to grab my effing camera.

The bands lined up to perform were Carolina Liar, Safety Suit, and Michael Franti & Spearhead. I've heard a few of Carolina Liar's songs on the radio but I've yet to buy their album, so I was excited to hear them perform live. They played a short acoustic set (which made me sad because I would have liked to hear more) and sounded great. Nothing to burst your bubble like a band that sounds like crap when they perform live. I didn't get a shot of Carolina Liar because I was too busy looking at this dude. He was beautiful. Tom and I were drooling over him. If anyone knows him, tell him I want him!

Safety Suit was the second band in the line up and they rocked my world!!! I've also heard a few of their songs on the radio, but don't own any of their music. I will definitely be purchasing some of that tomorrow. The picture above is of the band on stage. I know you can't see much, but I thought I'd share with you anyway. They really were awesome and I can't wait to listen to more of them tomorrow!!!

The last band that performed was Michael Franti & Spearhead and they were effing awesome! This is what they look like through the tree branches. Sexy, huh? Again, crappy picture, but thought I'd share anyway. I really don't know much about the group other than I know Spearhead has been around for a long time. They seriously put on a fantastic show. The music was spectacular and I can't wait to buy the album. Seriously, I have some new music loves!
