San Diego - Being Squished, Driving Forever and Lots of Rain

Rose, Noelle & I flew into San Diego last Friday night on one of the smallest planes in existence. And where did Noelle & I get to sit? Oh yeah, in the very last effing row. Remind me never to do that again! At the rental agency w decided to upgrade our car since there were three of us instead of two and opted for the Chrylser 300. I officially want one now. I loved it. So we hopped in the car with Sasha the Garmin Whore and headed for the hood. See, what happened was I looked up the nearest Avenue store in San Diego and it ended up being in the hood. I think we were the only white people within a 15 mile radius. Kind of entertaining. We did a little shopping and then headed back toward the city to grab dinner. Who would have thought dinner would be so difficult to come by in San Diego on a Friday night?I suggested going to Cane's for dinner. It's a great place right on the beach that I go to almost every time I go down there. We walked in at 9:30 and they said they were closing. From there we headed toward Pacific Beach and stopped at Rose's hotel for her to check in on the way. All of the places on Garnet Avenue were packed, and the ones that weren't packed closed early. Hello.. Friday Night. San Diego. Seriously? After being extremely frustrated we consulted with Sasha for the nearest Chili's figuring it would be open late. We got within a few blocks and realized it was next to the Sports Arena where the Dane Cook show had just gotten out. Nice. So then we sat in traffic for another 20 minutes trying to get across the GD effing road! It turns out that we were across the street from our (mine & Noelle's) hotel so we checked in and Rose decided to take a cab back to hers. The pic above is of Tower 23, and no, it's not the hotel any of us stayed in, but we will someday... it looks fab. Noelle and I got upgraded to a junior suite at the Holiday Inn (whoopee) and Rose lucked out with a corner room on the top floor overlooking the beach at the Surfer Inn. The three of us agreed to meet for breakfast at Kono's the next morning at 10. We'd either pick up Rose on the way, or make her walk. Noelle and I were woken up by Tanner's mother screaming at him. Who the hell knows who Tanner was. All we knew was if he didn't start obeying his mother, one of us was going out there to beat him! And sadly, when we opened the curtains to figure out who the hell Tanner was and why his mother wouldn't stop yelling at him, we realized we were in for a gloomy day. GD Effing Shit, man!
The only thing we wanted to do for the whole 48 hours we'd be in town was spend a day at the beach. And after freezing our asses off in San Fran, we figured we'd earned it. Guess not! Breakfast at Kono's was good. We didn't even have to wait that long and Rose snagged us a table. If I remember correctly we went to see her room after breakfast and devise a game plan. The picture above is of two dolphins who were swimming right outside Rose's hotel. Very cute.
We decided to go shopping since it was pouring rain and headed toward Fashion Valley Mall . Maddie called and said she'd made it into town so we flipped around, picked her up and took her with us. We stopped in Kate Spade and admired the bags and jewelry then walked across the way to MAC and Tiffany. I grabbed a few more things at MAC and went into Tiffany. And guess what? They actually had the necklace I wanted, so I bought it! Yay me! I'll take a pic and show it to you soon. We had lunch with Maddie and then headed back for Kate Spade so Rose could buy herself a birthday present!
We continued onto Lane Bryant after we dropped Maddie back at her hotel and shopped around for a bit. I think we spent entirely too much time shopping that day, but there wasn't a lot else to do considering the weather! At that point we headed back to Rose's hotel and started thinking about getting ready for dinner. There were some really hot boys staying across the way from Rose's room so we sat on the deck and watched them. You can see them off in the distance behind Noelle!I think I'll stop there for today. Coming up we have dinner at Cafe Coyote and the Marathon on Sunday!!!

I've always wanted to shop at Lane Bryant. In Alberta, we have Addition-Elle and Penningtons, and in the bigger cities there is LauraII.
Glad you all had fun, despite the rain.

I think the last time I was in SD was for Pearl Jam... it's been a while! And it's been since spring break since I was there with you. Aaah memories. I don't think I'll be blogging about that trip though. Craziness!
I like the poll you brat!

Kate - I'll have to look at those stores online! Lane Bryant is ok most of the time but it's getting very expensive!

Aurs - We need to go to SD and relive the memories!

Jaime - Yes, world famous! That's actually the name of the restaurant.

Mel - I know, seriously. It's California. Isn't everything open late?

Saskia - I always take incognito pics of hot boys... it's very entertaining!
