Pebble To A Pearl

Since I neglected my blog for a few days, I'm playing catch up. I hope everyone is happy (Noelle)... hahaha... So, for my 199th post, Nikka Costa is my subject, and her new cd "Pebble To A Pearl" is my new obsession. If you need a good chill cd, something a little wild, yet bluesy and fun, this is your girl. But I found her first.Remember when I mentioned my issue regarding new music and how I'm very apprehensive to listen to a new album from a favorite artist? Well, I had this problem again recently. Nikka Costa released her 3rd album (I think) in the fall and I bought it very shortly after it came out. I listened to it, decided there were a few songs I liked, and then kind of put it by the wayside and have only listened to those few songs I picked out a few months ago.

In the last week, I think I've listened to the album at least 20 times, maybe more... not kidding. I think it's one of those things where you have to listen to it a few times over, and then once you do, you get pulled in, and cannot, under any circumstance, remove it from your cd player in your car... yeah, that happens to me more often than I can account for. In any case, Nikka's new album is awesome. If you're already a fan and haven't heard it yet, hear it. If you have no idea who this wildy gorgeous woman is, look her up and give her a listen. I promise you won't be sorry. And, for the record, my favorite song on the new album is track 10, Damn I Said It First.
