Vegas - When's The Next Trip?

And here we have the end of the Vegas recap... I left off at going to bed on Sunday night. The pictures below were taken before we got in bed.... The french fries we ordered from room service. Seriously, some of the best fries, ever!
Here is a silly little picture of Odum and I around 2 o'clock in the morning. I think we were going on pure psychosis at this point because none of us had had more than eight or ten hours of sleep in the previous 48 hours (except for Odum b/c he had a nap while we were at "O").
Here's a pic of Aurs enjoying her chicken noodle soup. It's become a trend while in Vegas with us. I don't know if you can call it a trend, seeing how we've only been twice, but you catch my drift.

Ok, so, we got out of bed on Monday morning and made some plans. I wanted to go to Dillards to buy a purse (it's become a thing I do every year) and try to get some other shopping in. Auri wanted to stay at the hotel, take a bath, and have some "Mommy" time while we were gone. She doesn't get a lot of that, you know... Noelle, Rose, Odum and I got ready and headed out. Holly and Lisa stayed at the hotel to sleep and get ready to leave that afternoon.

The four of us grabbed coffee at the Starbucks in our hotel and took off for the mall. I found a great purse (aka suitcase/carryon) at Dillards, so naturally, I was a happy girl. We were all a little bummed because we didn't get all of the shopping on our list done. There was actually a lot we didn't get to, and we can't figure out why, we just ran out of time. (I will add a side note here: part of the reason we didn't get to everything was because I decided to meet Joe back at the hotel to hang out. Looking back, that was an hour or two that I wish wasn't wasted on him, but oh well, nothing I can do about it now.)
After we were all packed, everyone had lunch at the restaurant downstairs and we headed for the airport. The traffic was a pain in the ass so we were cutting it close. After we dropped off the minivan, we checked in through the skycap with 40 minutes to spare before the plane took off. Thankfully we didn't have to wait in line at security or we would have been in big trouble. Sadly, the skycap didn't tell us that if we checked in less than 45 minutes before departure, there was no guarantee our bags would be on our plane. (Yeah, a few of us had to go back for luggage later).

While we were sitting in the boarding area waiting for the plane, we'd all burst into random fits of laughter. Everyone kept turning to look at us and then just laughed. It was great. The scene was very reminiscent of those crazy "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas," commercials. The beauty was, it was our own commercial. Once we were on the plane, the finality of the vacay hit us. Sadly, our weekend was over and it was time to go home. The pictures above and below were taken by Aurs out the window after we took off. I don't think we could have asked for a better scene. Absolutely gorgeous! And, surprisingly, they turned out pretty well considering we were going like 1,000 miles an hour.
Below we have a self-portrait of Mama and Nellie from the plane... I think it's my favorite picture of the two of them. They took one of Aurs and I half-asleep... I've very purposely left that one out. Not the cutest. In any case, we had an absolutely fabulous weekend and I love that I got to spend it with my closest friends. I also got to know Holly and Lisa during that time, and have a special place in my heart for each of them! We've all had a bit of longing for each other ever since we got home. Kind of funny, but I guess when you have a bond with someone, it's hard to explain. So, next up is the girls' trip to San Fran in May. Y'all who want to go are invited.
This last picture is just such a sweet ending to such a fabulous weekend. Look closely. That's a picture of a rooster...
