Monday Morning Anxiety

So I did it. I made an offer on my townhouse. And it's a lot of money. And I'm freaking out. But it's what I want and that's what matters. My bro is cool with it, too, so that's good since we're splitting the mortgage! I put the offer in on Saturday afternoon and now I have to wait to hear back from the builder as to whether or not he'll accept my offer. I can't wait much longer before my head explodes... although, I'm actually surprisingly calm today. This is a major step for me... I've never even bought a car!

This is how it went down on Saturday... I met my dad and my realtor at the model home/office at 3 and my dad started asking questions and second guessing things (as he does) and he wanted to go look at the framed buildings. There are two buildings nearing completion. Building 1 is framed, sheetrocked, and all that fun stuff - it will be completed by the end of September. Building 2 is merely framed and isn't going to be ready until the end of October.

The original plan was to put the offer in on Building 2, but we went over and looked at the Building 1 to see what the framed house looked like... and then decided to offer on Building 1 instead. It's going to be done sooner, so let's get the show on the road, ya know!?

After we walked through the construction site we went back to look at the model home again. These pictures are from inside the model... I took them to get an idea for placement of furniture, colors of the counters and flooring, and just the general layout of the place. My townhouse is the same exact set up as the model, minus the fireplace, because it's an extra $2,000!

We (me, my dad and Cathy) sat down with Annie (who is awesome, I might add) to write up all the paperwork. I just about lost it when it came time to sign my name and initial all the pages... but I did it and the offer was submitted. I called my mom on the way home and told her it was done and got totally teary. (BTW, I have no idea why she didn't want to come with us.)
Auri, Noelle and I cracked a bottle of champagne that afternoon to celebrate.... now the hard part is waiting to find out if the builder will accept. If he does, I will be in absolute heaven. If he doesn't (which I don't think will happen) I'll probably die, or freak out and lose it! Send good vibes my way because I'm still waiting. I'm supposed to hear about it today. Hello... it's almost Noon. How long does a girl have to wait?

I will post as soon as I hear and let everyone know if/when it's official. Until then, cross your fingers, toes, eyes, and anything else you can manage to cross for me! I need all the support I can get!
