Auri and I went to see Avatar this evening. Yes, I'm a bit late getting around to things. I've heard from multiple people that yes, the graphics and CGI is absolutely amazing, but there was really no storyline. Um, did you pay attention at all to the movie? There was a very prominent storyline that I caught... apparently the rest of y'all fell asleep. Yes, it was loaded with political undertones, but aren't most movies these days? Have you heard of the Hurt Locker or the Green Zone, or Tommy Boy? Ok, maybe not Tommy Boy, but come on guys... it was an amazing movie. It had a fantastic storyline... yes it had a message, yes it was pretty obvious, no it didn't ruin the movie.
If you haven't seen the movie yet, see it while it's still in theaters. I can't imagine it would be anywhere near as fantastic on your TV at home. I also can't see how it would be half as good in 2D... make sure you grab a pair of the funky glasses when you go in! I'm planning on seeing it at least one more time because I know I missed a ton trying to take everything in. Plus, I thought it started at 8:30, but it started at 8:10, so I think we missed about 5 minutes of the beginning.
For those of you who've seen it, what did you think?
On a completely different note, I'd just like to mention that I love Michael Sheen. He's the actor that plays Aro in the Twilight movies. He's completely creeptastic in the movies and hilarious in person. Well, not in person, but when I've seen him on Craig Ferguson. Look up some of his clips, I adore him! He's Welsh and he's fabulous! Try and pull up a clip of him on the Ferguson... you won't be sorry!

I actually think it's been close to 3 years since I've been in a movie theater.
My husband is pestering me to see it. So we will probably go see it this weekend. Glad to know it was good.
And Tommy Boy is AWESOME!!!!! "big guy in a little coat!" hahaha
STILL wanting to see this movie! I need to see what all the hype's about. Apparently, it's very well-deserved!
And now it's my turn for a recommendation. Have you seen Frost vs. Nixon? Michael Sheen plays Frost and is just phenomenal in it. Check it out!

and i don't know about the twilight movies, but he's also the guy who played Tony Blair in The Queen. and was in that movie about Nixon. sounds like he's widening his horizons a bit to include political biopics AND sparkly vampire drama!
