It's Thursday ... We're In Alabama

Caution: There is a nasty picture of my grievously injured toe halfway through this post. If you get queasy, don't say I didn't warn you.

That (the subject line) has become our mantra around here. It's "(insert day here) and we're in Alabama." Can I just tell you how many times I've woken up in my hotel room and not known where I was, what time it was, or where I was supposed to be?! It starts getting old after a while! Speaking of old... ha ha ha... yesterday was Papa Tomas's birthday (Auri's dad). He took this gorgeous picture of Miss Taryn on Halloween up City Creek Canyon. Happy, Happy Birthday, Papa Tom! I love you!

Aaaand, my birthday is in 18 days. I'm going to be effing 30 in 18 days. WTF?! But, there's a Vegas trip included in that little milestone, so all will be alright. I hope. I think we're going to see Bite at the Stratosphere and I'm sooo excited. And not because it's topless, but because it's all about the Vumpires.

Speaking of Vumpires, I'm halfway through book 6 of 7 in the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I'm telling you right now, I'm re-reading the whole series when I'm done. I'm addicted. The men are hot, the sex is hotter, and I can't get enough! This is a picture that someone has put together of possibilities of who could play the Brothers. I think it's a pretty good representation considering I have a really hard time picturing their faces!

We went to Red Robin for dinner last night... the meat wasn't as lean as the hamburger they use in Utah... kind of disappointing! Anyway, we were sitting there and my colleague started laughing at the shadow my eyelashes were making down my face. Apparently, the picture doesn't do it justice, but you get the idea. Overhead lighting is sooo flattering!

Since yesterday was Veteran's Day, the State office building was closed down, but since my company doesn't observe the holiday... we had to work from the hotel... which was fine, but it made for a very long day! I was getting my stuff together in my room to head downstairs to meet the rest of the team, and I ended up slaughtering my toe. I was pulling the door open to leave my room and my toe was apparently in the way. At first I thought I had ripped off the nail ... that seriously would have been the end of the world. Then I realized I was just bleeding profusely, and all was well. Blood I can handle, missing toenail, not so much. I think I'll live. I put closed-toe shoes on today, but have yet to walk in them, so we'll see how things go. We might be heading back into flip flops before long. So I was on Twitter a few minutes ago and saw a tweet that said "Twilight stars were forced to evacuate their hotel." Apparently the fire alarm went off in their hotel in London and they had to get out. Yeah? So? The GD Effing Fire Alarm went off in my hotel the other night, TWICE, at midnight no less, and you don't see anyone writing any friggin' stories about me, do you? No. Rude. My back and my hips hurt so badly I could cry. I just took some Advil. Didn't have any water, so I had to take it with coffee. That's gotta be good on my stomach. At least I ate breakfast!

So yeah, I'm tired and cranky and in pain. And I don't want to work. But seriously, what else is new? Well, I'm off for now. Hope y'all have a great day and I'll see you soon!
