Random Tuesdayness - I'm A Slacker

randomtuesdayIt's Tuesday... no shit?! That means it's time for another edition of Random Tuesday Thoughts. If you don't know what they're about by now, get with the program, sister! Or go read Keely's blog to find out because I'm not going to tell you again (sounding like an angry mother)!

I've been MIA from blogland for a few days and it feels kinda weird. The funny thing is, I have a lot of ideas to write about, but I just haven't sat down to write anything. I may also have a teensy tinsy case of writer's block. I dunno, just sayin'. And yes, I said teensy tinsy.

Did anyone see the Season Premier of True Blood on Sunday? All I have to say is Wow! Even though it's straying pretty far from the book, I'm loving it! If you haven't seen it yet, don't read this next couple of lines... I'm sooo happy they didn't get rid of Lafayette! Not that I know what's gonna happen to him, but I'm glad he's still there! I can't wait to see what happens with Jessica (the new vampire) and Maryanne (who the hell knows what she is)!

My allergies are starting to get to me. I've been sneezing quite a bit more than normal lately. Just sneezed again...And my eyebrow is twitching.

I didn't get a chai at the Starbucks today... I decided to go old school and ordered a peppermint mocha. I think the baristas may have staggered a little after I ordered. I told them I was trying to keep them on their toes.

I've drank a lot over the last four days. Drinking on Friday. Drinking on Saturday. Sober on Sunday. Drinking on Monday.

Weekend recap: Friday was Wikiball's Birthday Party at her apartment. Paul & Britt came over and Mr. Martinez kept us entertained all evening. Too bad some of the girls couldn't make it... you missed out!

Saturday night was my friend Lindsay's Bachelorette Party. There'll be a post in and of itself for that one... can anyone say "Skanky Hos" (not our party, but everyone else at the bar)?

Sunday was a chill day simply because I didn't go to bed until 4 AM and needed to catch up on some sleep. That afternoon I took Tristan on a date for his birthday. Yes, he's 7, but I've been taking the kids on "dates" to the movies for their birthday. We went to see Up and it was really cute. It was a little slow, but we liked it. And I just remembered I'm a horrible Auntie and didn't do a shout-out post for his birthday... I'll get right on it!

Last night was my friend Lindsey's (another Lindsey) Birthday dinner. We went to Eva's and it was really good. Good cheap food... what more can you ask for?! The restaurant is located on 317 S. Main Street in Salt Lake, right between Shogun and Cheers To You, and definitely worth checking out! Girls in attendance include Kris Johnson, Di Bradley (yes we call them both by their full names), Lindsey, Holly, Auri and myself and we had a great time.I'm so excited for SYTYCD this week. I'm sad about the two who got sent home last week, but oh well, that's the natural progression of the show. Remember how I said I love Adam Shankman? Well I'm now following him on Twitter... I love it!

I didn't take very many pictures over the weekend. In fact, I don't know that I even got the camera out on Friday. I'm losing my touch.

I'm starting back at the gym this week. Time to get my tushie in gear. I'll let you know how things go, like maybe doing a weekly update... more for myself than y'all. Feel free to give me positive feedback cuz lord knows I can use it... but if you start hounding me, I'll bite you.

I actually enjoy working out. Believe it or not, I used to weigh 100 lbs less than I do now. Yeah, I'm that person... I gained that much weight. And it sucks my ass. But I'm ready to do this on my terms. I'm excited to get back into spinning. I used to spin 3 days a week and I miss it. That's my goal for the summer!

I need a nap... I'm effing tired and I couldn't get out of bed this morning. On any given day, I'm asleep from the time I go to bed until about 3 PM. I'm wide awake from then until I go to bed. I've often thought I need to get an evening job.... Corporate America doesn't do evening hours.

I have to make dinner tonight and I don't want to. When I cook an entire meal it takes me upwards of 3 hours to make everything, serve it, and then clean it all up. Cooking shouldn't be so damn time consuming. Argh! I think I'm going to try a Lemon-Herb grilled chicken tonight. We'll see how it turns out. I was thinking to make lemon rice with it... too much lemon?

And returning to the subject of vampires, go read Tia's post to the crazy girls who won't leave RPattz alone!

Just for the record... when I add pictures of hot chicks for the guys, they don't say anything, so no more hot chicks for you!

Happy Birthday, T-Bug!!!

Your Tata is a slacker and forgot to do a shout-out post on the actual day of your birthday.... so I'm doing it today (Tuesday) and back-dating it!

I had a ton of fun at the movie on Sunday... I hope you did, too. The best part of the day was the ginormous wave of water that hit our car on the way home. I wish someone besides me could have seen your face!

I love you, little man!

Hot Hot Hot

I love RPattz. Or as Noelle calls him, PRattz. I don't care whatcha call him, but call him hot... because that's what he is. I keep finding all these hot pics of him and want to include them in posts, but don't. So I thought I'd dedicate yet another post to Mr. Hottie Man.

Maybe this will get me all riled up to write the Sex Post.... it's a thought. In any case, enjoy some eye candy...

In case it isn't blatantly obvious, I loves me some black and whites. And this boy photographs well in black and white. Sorry for including KStew in the few, but unfortunately it was necessary so as not to taint the overall effect. Sue me!

Mary Can't Smile Because She's Had Botox

I originally titled this post "Dancing, Sex and Other Crap" but changed my mind...

And when I include Dancing & Sex in the same sentence, just know that I am NOT referring to the lame-ass dude who calls himself "Sex" who tries out for every reality show known to man. In fact, it pisses me off that I'm even talking about him...
I have a confession to make. I cheated last night. I watched SYTYCD without Auri or Jessica. I'm an asshole... I know. But it was the first real episode of the season and I just couldn't wait. And let me tell you, I am sooo happy I did it, because it was awesome! I had a hard time not calling to vote for each of the couples. Yes, they were that good.

BTW, the "Naughty Ballerina" chick needs to lose the naughtiness. Is she dancing on the show or starring in porn? The finger biting and simultaneous cock-eyed looks are growing old fast! She's a great dancer... go with that!

You want to know something? I love Adam Shankman. And if he weren't gay, I'd marry him. He has got to be the most complimentary judge they have on the show and I love that he freaked out after almost every dance last night. He was truly entertaining and had me cracking up for two hours straight. I think they should keep Nigel, Mary and Adam as the three judges and then add in a fourth guest judge every week. It would really spice things up. Especially since he always gives construtive criticism instead of ripping the dancers to shreds if they screw up.

I've got a problem with the fact that some of the contestants might have a bad week due to the luck of the draw. I'm referring specifically to the 2nd dance by Asuka & Vittorio. They picked a Broadway-style dance and were paired with Tyce Diorio who choreographed a dance that was pretty cute, but not great. I can't decide if it was the choreography or their performance that turned me off. Maybe it's the pairing of them as a couple. Who knows...

Ok, I think I'm done with that. I just have to say that this early on, I have no favorites, but I'm sure I'll develop a few... and I'll let you in on them when I decide. You can be sure I'll be talking about this weekly. Maybe I'll make my own meme called SYTYCD Thursday... ha!

And it really pisses me off that I can't find any pics of this season's contestants to use on here!

I was going to include some sex-talk in this post, but I think it deserves a post of its own... so I'll be back with that in a bit!

Random Tuesdayness - Come One Come All

randomtuesdayIt's Tuesday (yes, again) and that means it's time for Random Tuesday Thoughts a la The UnMom. So if you want to play, go grab Keely's button, and grab it hard, cuz she'll like it! For those of you new to Random Tuesdayness, I'll break it down for ya... this is basically an excuse to gather up all the useless shit that you want to blog about but for some strange reason can't congeal into a post. Throw it all together, and, voila! You've got yourself some Random Tuesdayness.

For starters, it really annoys me when I have something fabulous to write about and cannot for the life of me seem to put it into words!

I love when I have the time to sit down by myself somewhere and read something totally naughty while in the company of complete strangers. It's fun to know that behind the mundane cover of the book I'm holding is some pretty provactive sexiness. I enjoy it even more when the cover of the book is indicative of what is held in its contents. It's almost like, "Why yes, I am reading some really hot shit, and yes, I'm loving every word of it!" Yesterday I started reading "Secret Diary of a Call Girl" and have been taking it with me to lunch. For some reason, I find it exciting to read such racy material when no one around me is the wiser.

I just found out that there is a Utah or Salt Lake blogger meet up in Sandy on Saturday and I'm debating on whether or not I should go. Kind of want to, kind of don't.... any thoughts?

So I decided I have a little crush on someone that I probably shouldn't have a little crush on. I've known him a really long time. He's a younger man. He's educated. He has a good head on his shoulders. And he looked really good the other day... Enough about that.

Seriously, why am I even talking about that when I'm boycotting men? Why, why, why? I just don't get it. I am seriously so upset, angry, irritated, pissed off, hurt, rejected, dejected and unhappy about the whole thing, I can't even begin to explain it. Whatever.

I need to get my nails done. Tori doesn't have anything that works with my schedule this week. I want to cry.

I finished Dead & Gone (the 9th book in the Sookie Stackhouse series) and honestly, I'm happy to be done with it. It wasn't one of my favorites. Except for page 170. Eric sex. Enough said. Speaking of which, True Blood Season 2 starts on Sunday! I can't wait. Woo hoo.

Oh, and I also started Eclipse for the 2nd time last night. I'm happy to have it back in my life. I think I started resenting the 9th Sookie book b/c it took me away from my Twilight... and right now, that's about the only thing that will make me happy. Pretty sad, huh?

Still house hunting... although I was supposed to call my realtor last week and haven't still. She probably thinks I'm an asshole. I've just been having a shitty week. Sorry.

And seriously, is there anything better than sleeping the day away when you're depressed? I think not. I took a three or four hour nap each on Saturday and Sunday. And the were divine. In fact, I'd give just about anything to be asleep right now instead of stuck at work with another meeting looming.

And I get another all day (8-9 hour) presentation tomorrow. Aren't y'all jealous? It's great. An all-day demonstration on a projector in a dark room in uncomfortable seats. Sooo my idea of a good time. I better be drinking heavily this weekend!

I just realized this post started out on a good note and then just turned into me bitching... oh well!

San Diego - Being Squished, Driving Forever and Lots of Rain

Rose, Noelle & I flew into San Diego last Friday night on one of the smallest planes in existence. And where did Noelle & I get to sit? Oh yeah, in the very last effing row. Remind me never to do that again! At the rental agency w decided to upgrade our car since there were three of us instead of two and opted for the Chrylser 300. I officially want one now. I loved it. So we hopped in the car with Sasha the Garmin Whore and headed for the hood. See, what happened was I looked up the nearest Avenue store in San Diego and it ended up being in the hood. I think we were the only white people within a 15 mile radius. Kind of entertaining. We did a little shopping and then headed back toward the city to grab dinner. Who would have thought dinner would be so difficult to come by in San Diego on a Friday night?I suggested going to Cane's for dinner. It's a great place right on the beach that I go to almost every time I go down there. We walked in at 9:30 and they said they were closing. From there we headed toward Pacific Beach and stopped at Rose's hotel for her to check in on the way. All of the places on Garnet Avenue were packed, and the ones that weren't packed closed early. Hello.. Friday Night. San Diego. Seriously? After being extremely frustrated we consulted with Sasha for the nearest Chili's figuring it would be open late. We got within a few blocks and realized it was next to the Sports Arena where the Dane Cook show had just gotten out. Nice. So then we sat in traffic for another 20 minutes trying to get across the GD effing road! It turns out that we were across the street from our (mine & Noelle's) hotel so we checked in and Rose decided to take a cab back to hers. The pic above is of Tower 23, and no, it's not the hotel any of us stayed in, but we will someday... it looks fab. Noelle and I got upgraded to a junior suite at the Holiday Inn (whoopee) and Rose lucked out with a corner room on the top floor overlooking the beach at the Surfer Inn. The three of us agreed to meet for breakfast at Kono's the next morning at 10. We'd either pick up Rose on the way, or make her walk. Noelle and I were woken up by Tanner's mother screaming at him. Who the hell knows who Tanner was. All we knew was if he didn't start obeying his mother, one of us was going out there to beat him! And sadly, when we opened the curtains to figure out who the hell Tanner was and why his mother wouldn't stop yelling at him, we realized we were in for a gloomy day. GD Effing Shit, man!
The only thing we wanted to do for the whole 48 hours we'd be in town was spend a day at the beach. And after freezing our asses off in San Fran, we figured we'd earned it. Guess not! Breakfast at Kono's was good. We didn't even have to wait that long and Rose snagged us a table. If I remember correctly we went to see her room after breakfast and devise a game plan. The picture above is of two dolphins who were swimming right outside Rose's hotel. Very cute.
We decided to go shopping since it was pouring rain and headed toward Fashion Valley Mall . Maddie called and said she'd made it into town so we flipped around, picked her up and took her with us. We stopped in Kate Spade and admired the bags and jewelry then walked across the way to MAC and Tiffany. I grabbed a few more things at MAC and went into Tiffany. And guess what? They actually had the necklace I wanted, so I bought it! Yay me! I'll take a pic and show it to you soon. We had lunch with Maddie and then headed back for Kate Spade so Rose could buy herself a birthday present!
We continued onto Lane Bryant after we dropped Maddie back at her hotel and shopped around for a bit. I think we spent entirely too much time shopping that day, but there wasn't a lot else to do considering the weather! At that point we headed back to Rose's hotel and started thinking about getting ready for dinner. There were some really hot boys staying across the way from Rose's room so we sat on the deck and watched them. You can see them off in the distance behind Noelle!I think I'll stop there for today. Coming up we have dinner at Cafe Coyote and the Marathon on Sunday!!!

Totally Flattered

Throughout the day yesterday and into this morning I've been getting comments on posts from readers I'm not familiar with. I didn't really think anything of it and was just happy to have some new people visit my blog. I logged onto Blogger this morning and was cruising through my dashboard of blogs I read, and came across a picture of myself. Hmm, that's weird... then I realized Nic from PinkNic's Planet has featured me as her Reader of the Week! I am flattered!

If I remember correctly, Nic found me through Twenty-Something Bloggers and we've been bloggy friends ever since. I think the turning point in our relationship came when I read about her booking a trip to San Fran. Go look through her archives to find it. It's hilarious! You can follow her on Twitter, too. Her random updates are quite funny.

Anyway, thanks, Nic for featuring me. And thanks to all you new peeps who have come to check me out!

SF'09 - Sights To See

On Monday morning we met the crew at Pinehurst for breakfast and then went back to the hotel to pack and get checked out. It was a fairly uneventful day, but we had fun sightseeing after we left the Drake. We started off at Lombard Street. I really thought it would be longer and steeper, but it was cool, nonetheless. Check it out if you ever go to San Fran. Definitely worth seeing! After Lombard Street we headed over to Grace Cathedral. The place is huge and absolutely gorgeous. I'm not sure what the story is behind it, but you can ask someone...Noelle and Rose making themselves dizzy trying to get through the maze. They both made it out alive!A fountain in the courtyard of the church and some flowers from the garden

Rosie and I sitting in the courtyard at the church
From there we went back to get our luggage and headed for the BART. And that, my friends, concludes the San Fran trip. Stay tuned for San Diego!

Birthday Shout Out To Wikiball!!!

I've been waiting forever to use this picture and haven't found anything fitting. A birthday celebration seems like a good time, no? Too bad Wikiball doesn't drink. However, she does enjoy a Fig from time to time and they're made with Malibu, so I guess it works!

Happy 2nd annual 30th birthday, Wiki! You rock!

SF'09 - Froze Our Asses Off and The Cab Ride from Hell

Is it sad that I'm sick of recounting the San Fran trip? As a result, I'm giving a quick run-down of Sunday's activities...
Noelle and I went to Tiffany to buy me a necklace. They didn't have the length I was looking for, and she ended up buying some really cute earrings.
After that we took the Trolley down to Fisherman's Wharf to check things out. We were supposed to meet the rest of the group in Sausalito around 2, but that fell through and is a whole other story. We froze our asses off at the wharf.

Noelle and I grabbed lunch at The Boudin Bakery and it was really good. Too bad we had to scarf it down so we could try to get warm and out of the tornado we had to sit in outside.
After lunch we grabbed a cab and asked to be taken across the bridge to the main part of Sausalito. It was truly the cab ride from hell. The driver was psychotic and Noelle actually threw up in her mouth because he was driving so horribly! She sent me a text (while sitting next to me) that said, "Just know I love you bc we are going to die!" Yeah, it was that bad.The whole reason for going to Sausalito was to get something for my mom. Let's just say she had no idea where she got the other one from and basically sent us on a wild goose chase. We lasted in Sausalito for about 30 minutes. It was sooo worth the money to get to and from the island! And yes, I'm being a smart ass!

We took the ferry back to San Fran and had to sit upstairs (where we were exposed in the wind) because the smell on the two decks below was unbearable.
This is Coit Tower
Some dude playing his guitar with his dog for the tourists. Yes, the dog has a hat and sunglasses on.
This is the view of Alcatraz from the ferry.
Back at the hotel we met up with Rose and Michelle. They had plans with Jen & Joe for sushi. Noelle and I decided to skip it since I'm allergic to shellfish and they didn't have much else to choose from on the menu. Noelle and I ended up going to the Oriental Pearl for dinner. It was good, but I'd probably try other places before I'd go back. After dinner we were going to meet up with the rest of the group for drinks but ended up chillin' in our room and watching TV. Very exciting, I know.
Random picture of a few docks full of seals. Kinda funny!
That's it for the adventures of Sunday. I'll finish up with Monday's goings-on and then we'll move onto San Diego, bitch!
