Being sick sucks. I think most people would agree with me. A little stomach bug ruined my whole weekend!
Thursday was a typical day for me... got up, went to work, went to the airport, flew home. My fabulous friend, Jen, picked me up from the airport and we met Kasian and Janelle at The State Room to see The Civil Wars. I posted about them a few posts ago, and if you missed it, you should go check it out.
All I can say about the show is Wow. Just Wow. If you have any bit of interest in music at all, you need to give them a listen. Here's a little background... The "group" is only two people: Joy Williams and John Paul White. He plays the guitar and sings... she sings and plays the keyboard on a few numbers. He looks like Johnny Depp and has a wonderful voice. She looks like my friend Leah and has one of the most versatile voices I've ever heard. Together, they are pure magic. (Also, some of her music has been on Gray's, for those of you who watch it.)
They played a bunch of their songs and did a few covers as well. If you never thought "Billie Jean" could be sung any differently, go watch this and then tell me otherwise. Seriously, the show was amazing. We were standing literally 15 feet from them and I felt like we were just all hanging out in the living room (the State Room is a venue that only holds about 300 people). My point is, I love them. That is all.
Friday morning I woke up at 5 o'clock and was sicker than hell. I was hoping it would pass and I'd feel better in a couple of hours. Not so much. I ended up being in bed ALL DAY on Friday, and the majority of the day Saturday. The stomach bug had passed by Saturday morning, but I was so wiped out from it, I couldn't do much except lie around. I was actually able to function on Sunday so I went to brunch with the girls and got my nails done (my nail girl is awesome like that).
And that my friends, pretty much sums up my weekend... it was spent in bed. And I'm kinda bent about it! I had so much I wanted and needed to do and it just didn't get done. I had to hop back on a plane to OKC on Monday. Lame! To make up for it, this next weekend is crazy busy and I'm not sure how I'm going to juggle everything! Hopefully it'll all work out.

So I totally love The Civil Wars. Do you remember Brian Church? Well his friend Nate is married to Joy. Nate was such a cool guys so it would only make sense that he married someone that was amazing. Small world, right? Anyways, great post. I love reading your blog but I am just horrible at commenting, sorry.

Loved that version of Billie Jean and the dude in the band is HOT. Which is odd because I don't find Johnny Depp hot at all... Hmmm.
