I've never been one to get out of bed any earlier than absolutely necessary. That's why I haven't ever been particularly excited to participate in the frenzy that is Black Friday. That being said, if there is shopping to be done, count me in. Getting up early, so not my idea of fun... staying up all night (give or take an hour and a half nap) is a hell of a lot easier.
Around midnight I got in bed (basically fully dressed), fell asleep around 12:30, tossed and turned for 2 hours with a dog up my ass, and got up at 2:30 to get ready to head over to Shnoelle's. Got there at 3, jumped in her car and went to pick up her sister DebiSue, niece MadiPoo, and good friend, MindyLou.
We got to Tarjay Boutique at 3:30 (AM, that is), got in line and waited 30 minutes for the doors to open. Honestly, it was freezing outside, but not as cold as I had anticipated. By the end of the 30 minutes I was freezing my ass off, but we were well-prepared and expected it. I have to tell you, I was sooo impressed with Target and the way they handled the sale this year. We were in and out in 30 minutes flat. Amazing. Last year Noelle and I got inside at 4 and left at 6:30... not cool! Kudos Tarjay! That's why we love you!
From there, we had to drop our load at Noelle's apartment because there was no more room in the car, and then drove over to Shopko for their opening at 5 AM. We walked in around 5:10 and there was no one in the store. We probably spent 20 minutes inside, grabbed our stuff and got the hell out.
(There may or may not have been copious amounts of coffee and peppermint schnapps involved... I'm just sayin'.)
Next stop was Kohls. DebiSue was looking for comforters (I think) while Mads, Shnoelle and I stopped in the jewelry department. I found a 64' strand of real pearls that were originally $150 that was marked down to $25! I couldn't NOT buy them! Talk about a deal, right?
At this point the shopping caught up with us and we needed some sustenance. Naturally our next stop was IHOP. We were the first customers in the door at 6 AM. Awesome! Food was good, considering it was IHOP and we were ready for more spending. By the time we left, I think the temperature had dropped about 15 degrees and it was effing freezinger (yes, that IS a word) than it was at 3:30. Sooo damn cold!
Macy's was next on the list where DebiSue found some luggage for the kids. 5 piece luggage sets for $50. No, I'm not lying. Why would I lie? Sursly. I hate liars! Keep that in mind. Anyhoodle, good deals... and I stayed away from the purses and sunglasses! I'd like a pat on the back.
Finally we ducked into Old Navy where we found some fabulously priced and adorable gifts for the crew. I want to keep most of them for myself, so it'll be hard to part with them... and to decide who to impart the gifts upon.
After Old Navy, we all headed home for a short winter's nap. Upon my arrival I had found the dog, the precious puppy that I live with, ate my favorite clogs. I wanted to scream, but I was too tired, so we just took a little nap. Then I dropped her at doggie daycare and went to get my nails did. I have priorities, people. I grabbed lunch with my mum and Janice and then ran a few more errands.
I had to stop at DSW and see if they still had my clogs... Thank Jeebus they did and I got a new pair to replace the others... in addition to the same pair in brown and a pair of adorable gray flats that were on clearance. I went a little overboard. Like I said before, I tend to do that when I'm angry.
Last stop was the beauty supply store where I stocked up on some hair stuff. This coiff needs A LOT of product... upkeep is a bitch. If you've got curly hair, you know. If not, consider yourself lucky. I lurve this line of products... totally recommend them!
I picked up the dog on the way home, unloaded the car, went up to my room and "got ready for bed." It was 4 PM. I'd planned on taking a 2-3 hour nap, but I couldn't fall asleep, and then my phone kept ringing, and then the damn alarm went off... and I ended up staying in bed until 9:45 tonight. Yeah, I know. I wasn't my whole evening! Oh well, I was exhausted!
Yes, I spent a bit of money today, but the majority of my Christmas shopping is DONE!!!! I hope you guys all enjoyed your Day After Thanksgiving/Black Friday activities and have a fantabulous weekend!
Loves,

Tarjay and Ihop, I think you were born to be my very best friend! :) Add a nice Sonic limeade at the end and we could get married!
I avoid black Friday shenanigans. I did venture out two years ago but I waited till about 11am and everything was pretty empty of people. Still lots of bargains. Of course this was in North Dakota where there are only about 30 people in the entire state to begin with. :) Ha. It was also my birthday that particular year so I figured they were all just somewhere waiting for my surprise party. Which never happened. Meh.
Wow, that is absolute madness. But you did damn well, missy! Very impressed.
Tarjay. We don't have Tarjay here. Sniff.
OH MY GOD! I'm so coming to that sale next year! But there will need to be crown and cokes to keep me awake.
We are getting an IHOP here. I am curious to try it. Although nothing beats our breakfast place called Coras. I had a MASSIVE hazelnut spread and banana crepe. I ate half of it (because it was the size of a platter)! YUM!
Lady, you are insane! I'm glad you were able to complete your shopping and were not trampled to death.
wow. that's one LONG day of shopping! i try to stay away from black friday sales, unless i can shop from the comfort of my couch in my pajamas
That is some serious shopping Olympics...but good for you being almost done and now you can sip wine all of December while everyone else runs around. LOL.
