Salti Talk - Speakerphone Etiquette

For most of us who work in Corporate America, we get to deal with speakerphones on a regular basis. For the rest of you who don't, be glad! That being said, there are some implied/unspoken rules that for the love of all that is holy, should be stringently followed!

Here are mine:

~If you're on the other end listening to the meeting, MUTE your phone. The people on the other end don't want to hear you burp, shuffle papers, talk to others in your office or on the rare occasion, flush the toilet.

~If you call someone while you have the speaker on, inform the person you just rang to let them know. Give them a chance to watch their mouth and not say anything totally embarrassing!
