Today was my first trip back to Montgomery after working from home for over two months straight. I got on my flight at 1:50 PM and the pilot announced it'd be a 3 hour flight. Yippee! Love those tail winds!
I haven't always been able to sleep on a plane. After traveling on almost a weekly basis for months on end, you learn a lot of new tricks and secrets. One of them being, how to sleep on a plane. Apparently I had passed the eff out because when I woke up, I realized that we should have landed about an hour earlier.
I guess we'd been circling for about an hour due to the storm in Atlanta and lots of traffic at the airport. Once I made some time calculations, I figured there was a pretty good chance I was going to miss my connection.Once off the plane with about 20 minutes to spare, I checked the monitors... and my flight had been cancelled. Nice.
So now I'm in some skanky-ass Ramada Inn in Hotlanta. The hotel is oooold and feels dirty. Thank God the staff is really great or I'd be bitching up a storm here!
I leave on a flight at 9 in the morning, and we're supposed to be to the airport about 2.5 hours before all flights due to the fact that there were so many flights cancelled and delayed tonight. The security points are going to be jammed. That means I have to be up at 5:30ish, Hotlanta time. That's 3:30 am at home. FML!!!
I don't know that I'll be able to sleep at all. I'll probably fall asleep an hour before I'm supposed to get up. That's the way my life works.
All I have to say is I'm extremely thankful I have a spare pare of undies and socks in my computer bag for emergencies like this. Otherwise I'd have to wash them in the sink and hope they'd dry by the time I had to go! Like that would happen with the humidity down here!
Well, I hope y'all have had a better start to your week than I have.
I'll be back tomorrow with some Randomness and an update as to my whereabouts!
Smooches!

Crotch humidity is no laughing matter.
Good luck.
Bleh! If the storm was part of the system that rolled through Charlotte...it was some of the freakiest shit I've seen since living here. Glad you landed safely.
Humidity is gross. This can not be stated often enough.
Damn, I am so sorry. Oddly enough, a similar thing happened to me last week when I was on my way to CO: we were 2 hours late departing, then ran out of fuel from circling in the sky and had to refuel in (get this) New Mexico. It was one hell of a 4th of July!
First of all, Skanky ass=best term evah!
Second, I'm totally digging those cartoons. So funny!
Just tried to leave a comment on your caption post but I don't think it works. It's been one of those days for me though so I'm not surprised. Anywho, just wanted to say thanks for stopping by my blog!
LOVE the title of the post. And too bad it was not a longer layover and then your bloggy friend JennyMac could have taken you out for a cocktail at least. LOL.
