I had this great idea to write a post today about going to get the mail. And on my way to the mailbox I had another great idea. What about starting a "Discussion Monday" type of thing? Maybe we'll see how this one goes and then decide? Ok, then... you'll have to let me know what you think.
Anyhoodle, the idea that sparked this post is the fact that I hate going to get the mail. The issue is two-fold. First, because I live within a HOA, my mailbox isn't in front of my house, it's in a bank of mailboxes down the road and around the corner. When the weather is nice, I can walk over there, but I usually just grab it while I'm coming or going in the car. The point being, it's not necessarily convenient.
The second issue is that I have anxiety about what will be in the mailbox. Bills, invitations to some random person's wedding who you haven't seen in years, bills, etc.. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love getting cards, postcards, and any other fun types of communication, but the rest can go!
So my question to y'all is: Do any of you hate getting the mail, and if so, why? Discuss!

i hate getting the mail... in fact, i only manage to drag my ass out to the mailbox once a week. maybe.
there's nothing good in the mail...just bills and junk. then again... it's my bday this month so there should be some good checks in there ;)
Thank god my mailboxes are on the bottom floor of my apartment building. But I hate when I get packages and have to walk the 3 blocks to the post office, often after a 12 hour shift, to get my package. Just sayin.
In England we have a flap (called a letter box) in our front doors so the postman just puts the mail through the door and straight into the house. Seems a lot easier than having to walk to a mailbox!
Max LOVES to get the mail! Everyday he looks forward to what may be in that stinkin box besides bills and junk mail. I don't get excited because I'm cynical and I know there won't be anything exciting unless it's around my bday or Christmas. Eh...the mail. I don't hate getting the mail, but I don't LOVE it either. :D
I don't really have anxiety over getting the mail as I just have a terrible time remembering to pick it up when I go inside. I'm sure when I go home today and unlock the box, 10 pounds of junkmail crap will explode out all over me because I haven't looked in there since Friday.
Obviously our mailman is my biggest fan.
Yup we Brits are lazy... no walking anywhere for post for us... it lands inside our front door :)
I used to be so envious of my parents who received lots of letters each week while I recieved nothing, but now I wonder what was wrong with me!! Hate post... 99% is junk or bills... not so fun!

i'm notorious for checking my mailbox and if there isn't anything good just leaving it in there till something good comes along. haha.
I hate getting the mail. There is rarely anything good and all it does is pile up on my kitchen counter and make a mess!!!! But, if you want to send me a card I will put it on display for while. Love that!!!!
No! Cause I usually get cool shit! Like pink packages containing AWESOME JEWELRY!!!!
