My thoughts, for what they're worth

Some of you read my blog may agree or disagree with me. I'm not here to pick a fight. I don't even want comments on this post.

There's a story on ksl.com today about a newspaper in Logan that ran a "Wedding Announcement," for a lesbian couple. I thought I'd check the message boards just to observe the stupidity of the people I live in this state with. After reading about 5 of the comments, I got sick. I cannot believe people. Why I'm shocked, I don't know... I know better than to expect more than 5% of humanity is actually educated and tolerant of diversity. Anyway, here is the comment I left in response to all the freakin' idiots out there. Hope I represented well!

The link to the story: http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=3928681 in case anyone wants to check it out - be forewarned, you'll be angry after reading the comments, so don't say I didn't warn you!

Following is the comment I left:
Does anyone out there (those who are so against homosexuality) who preaches Christianity remember what it means to actually be a Christian? How are homosexuals hurting anyone? How is their lifestyle hurting you? Why is it that the ignorant individuals in our society think that homosexuality will lead to the downfall of our civilization? Two people love eachother. End of story. There is nothing else to discuss. There is nothing else to think about. There are so many more issues in this world that deserve the time, attention, and passion that is being given to this issue! Homosexuality doesn't kill people, but wars, famine, and poverty do. If the government doesn't want to recognize the union of two homosexuals, so be it. The government also doesn't recognize the union of one man to multiple wives, or one woman to multiple husbands. These "unions" are present in our society today, yet I don't see or hear anyone getting bent out of shape about that. Either get off your high horses and come back down to reality, or keep your opinions to yourselves. Those of us who are tolerant of all people and their chosen lifestyles are sick of listening to those of you who aren't.

Mormons can be some of the least "Christian" people I know. In reality they're just bigoted and hateful - but they justify their nastiness by saying that this is just the way god wants it. They're no different than all the other religions who revel in putting people down and condemning anybody who doesn't believe the way they do.

Blech

Thanks for speaking up Tata - every voice counts, every voice makes a difference.

Blech.
