Dancing, sleeping over & sleep talking

Jessica, Auri and Tristan came over last night to watch the finale of So You Think You Can Dance. We didn't get started until about 9:30, but that's the beauty of TiVo... you can watch your show whenever you please! We watched all the dances from the night before and then dove into the finale. It was fun to see the judges' favorites danced again last night. I've watched some of them a dozen times, and there were others I had forgotten about.

I usually get really into the show, but this year I was a little bit less enthusiastic for some reason... there was just a different dynamic this season. Anyway, the final four dancers competed on Wednesday night and I really wasn't cheering for one of them more than the other. I figured I would be surprised if the winner was either Courtney or Joshua, but wouldn't be surprised if it was Katee or Twitch. (I think I was subconciously pulling for Twitch). In the end, Joshua was the winner, and I have to say, I'm really happy for him, but a little bit surprised. The kid is great though, and he deserves it.

So, after it was all over, Jessica went home, Tristan fell asleep, and Auri & I sat and watched our favorite numbers from the season. (Yes, I've saved all of the episodes on my TiVo - I'm a dork, I'm completely aware of this). By the time all was said and done, it was about 2 AM and Auri decided to sleep over. We stayed up for a little longer and farted around, and then got ready for bed. Tristan was asleep on the couch, so we made him a little bed on the floor so Auri could sleep on the couch. (She would have slept in the guest room on the big, cushy bed, but there is a ton of crap in there, and no room to get on the bed).

In the meantime, Tristan had had been sleeping on the couch and he looked so cute... his hair was all messed up and he was sleeping with his arms extended all the way above his head. I took a picture of him but haven't downloaded it from the camera, so I'll post it on here when I do. For some reason, either I wasn't aware of this, or had totally forgotten about it, but Tristan talks in his sleep. He had shifted around a few times while he was asleep and each time he woke up, he'd say something totally random. The first time he said to Auri, "Here Mom, hold my Sprite because my eyes are getting really sleepy." The second time he said something to the effect of, "There's something here to give to somebody." The kid cracks me up. I guess the stuff that usually comes out of his mouth is pretty funny.... too bad I'm not usually there to witness it.

So yeah, we had a sleepover. I'm 28 years old and still have sleepovers with my best friend. I think it's kinda funny, but I love that my relationship with Auri is such that we still have sleepovers.... the only difference between our sleepovers now as compared to back in the day is that she usually had a kid with her!
