Random Tuesdayness - Long Time No Tuesday and a Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge

Long time, no Tuesday!  It's been a long while since I did a RTT post and thought today (while I still have an hour left) would be a good time to get back in the saddle!

After my long-ass narrative yesterday, it occurred to me that I kind of forgot to convey the message I was trying to get across.  My main point being this:  Getting old blows.  Big time.  Well, that wasn't entirely my point... What I really wanted to say is that when you're faced with a new reality that you're not necessarily prepared for, it makes you think... a lot.  Being stuck in bed sucked.  But I can handle being stuck in bed.  Realizing that I wasn't able to move on my own, even though it was for a relatively short period of time, was scary as hell.  I COULDN'T EVEN GET UP TO USE THE BATHROOM!  I was literally stuck in bed, lying down, completely dependent on others to care for me.  And it scared the hell out of me.  Feeling totally helpless is not something I ever want to experience again, although, I know that will probably happen at some future point in time.  Maybe next time I'll be better prepared for it.

Anyhoodle, moving right along.  I have a new assignment at work and was actually supposed to be traveling this week. For reasons mentioned earlier, traveling wasn't really an option so I ended up staying home and canceling my trip.  I'm pretty excited to start this new project and get things moving along.  I'll be working in Jefferson City, Missouri, and will be flying in and out of St. Louis.  I'm excited for the opportunity to explore a new city (two, actually) and see a different part of the country.
My friend J over at The Bees Knees introduced me to this and I'm excited to start playing along!

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge - Neely and Amber give us the topic, we write about it... easy enough!
Day 1 - Fall Traditions (I didn't participate yesterday, so I'm backtracking!)
~~~ I don't know that I have many, if any, Fall traditions.  The first thing that comes to mind is going up to the annual Oktoberfest Festivities (which is held in September and I don't quite understand) at Snowbird Ski Resort.  Snowbird is up Little Cottonwood Canyon and it's such a gorgeous drive up there seeing all the changing leaves.  So pretty!  Other than that, putting up a few decorations is about all I do around the house.
Day 2 - Fall Clothes/Trends/Makeup
~~~I love when the weather starts to cool off because that means it's time for cold-weather clothes!  There's nothing better than getting all bundled up in jeans, a sweater and some fabulous boots to go out for the day!  When it comes to makeup, y'all know I'm a makeup whore, so I can't say I have any makeup trends I go for.  If anything, I tend to wear more lipstick and less gloss, and probably wear more makeup in general.  During the summer when I'm tan and gorgeous, I don't feel the need to wear as much.  I definitely up the amount I wear as I start to lose my color and  look pasty!  When it comes to color, I'll wear just about anything!

Ok kids.... the pain is really starting to get to me which means it's time for bed.  Hope y'all had a fabulous Tuesday and I'll see you soon!

Glad you're at least feeling a little bit better.

I think traditionally Oktoberfest was always in October, but the start date was bumped up to include harvest festivals (hops are harvested in September for more holiday beer brewing!). I know in Munich the end date is always the first Sunday in October.

Your new project sounds exciting. I can't say I've been to Jefferson City, but St. Louis is pretty cool.
