For those of you who know me, or at least pretend to, you know I don't do fish. It is in no way, shape or form appealing to me. Plus, I'm allergic to iodine and therefore should avoid any and all shellfish. No shrimp, crab, lobster or oysters for me? I ain't gots no problem with that!
Most of my friends love to go out for sushi. Me, not so much... but if I do join them, I usually order something chicken-y off the menu. Lately, none of it has been very good, so when Auri suggested going to Happy Sumo at Gateway the other night, I was less than excited. However, after a one dirty look from her, I gave in.
She ended up having a fanfuckingtastic suggestion when we got there... How about I try some sushi? Um, excuse me!? I don't do sushi. Well whaddaya know? Some places make fish-less sushi. Kind of makes it NOT sushi in my mind, but Auri said it was so I'm going with it. I lost my sushi virginity this week? Isn't that weird?
We ordered the Veggie Tempura Roll which was just veggies, and then the Buffalo Roll which was veggies and chicken. They were both really good! I felt like such a big girl using chop sticks and making sauce with wasabi. I even ate the ginger! Crazy, I know! Before I had my first piece and was trying to situate my chopsticks, I think Auri said something like, "Open up and take it like a man!" And oh boy, did I! 
So, who's taking me out for sushi?
