Use a hot pad!

So, last night, my dad was making dinner and had taken the hot pan out of the oven and sat it on the stove. It sat there for about five to ten minutes while he was preparing other things. Not thinking, he turned around and grabbed the pan with his bare left hand and burned the hell out of it. My mom took him to the urgent care clinic where they evaluated him, wrapped it up, and referred him to the U of U Burn Clinic today. Yeah, it's that bad. Hello.... we have 95 hot pads in the kitchen, why didn't he use one?
