Ok, now to remember where I left off... I think I was at the part where we were invited into The Steps of Rome. The host was adorable and took us to a table upstairs. The restaurant is almost like it's in an old house in a row of houses. Anyway, our waiter comes over, starts rubbing Noelle's shoulder and asks her if she's Irish. We weren't too concerned where he thought she was from because he was hot and had an Italian accent. It doesn't take much to impress us anymore! Anyway... we started with a bottle of Chianti and some bruschetta. Noelle ordered the pasta special (which was amazing) and I had the Gnocchi (which was also amazing)! We had polished off most of the wine before our entrees came, so we were pretty loaded at that point. It was great. Good wine, good food, hot waiter... what else can two girls ask for? We finished dinner off by sharing a molten chocolate cake with vanilla gelato and fresh whipped cream, and a cup of real (fresh pressed) Italian coffee. Wow, is all I have to say!
After dinner we ventured down the road and to the nearest liquor store where Noelle proceeded to have her boobs oogled by a drunk man with jerry curls. He was a little creepy. Up at the counter we met Jafar, the dude who I'm thinking was the owner of the liquor store, and talked to him for a while. After some drunken deliberation, we decided to go with the Smirnoff Pomegranate Martini Vodka and two baby Patrons. Our liquor in hand, we set off down the street again and ended up in a shady little "novelty" store. Let's just say I saw a few things and heard another few things I could have done without. After that, we hailed a taxi and headed back to our hotel. Once in our room we finished about 1/4 to 1/3 of the bottle of vodka and decided to go see the first apartment Noelle's parents lived in after they got married. It just so happened that the building was just around the corner from the hotel. We found the building pretty easily and then headed back toward the hotel and Union Square. It was only about 10 or 10:30 PM and for those of you who know me, I hate going to bed early, especially when I'm supposed to be having fun. We decided we couldn't go to bed yet so we headed to the Cheesecake Factory for more drinks and dessert (again)! Hey, we were slightly bored and thought it would be fun to see Union Square from up above at night. Noelle got a glass of wine and I had some yummy Pink Lemonade something-or-other, and we shared some spinach dip... yes, we were hungry again, so we thought we'd forego the dessert and have some substance. At this point it was about 11:30 or midnight so we headed back to the hotel for our beauty rest. Lord knows we needed our sleep because Rose and Jen were arriving the next day and we would need our energy!
Saturday morning was fairly uneventful. The two of us walked down the hall and got breakfast... yogurt, coffee, and a danish, and ate breakfast while sitting in bed and watching Hannah Montana or something on TV. We didn't get reception for most of the main channels, which was really annoying, and we ended up watching 'tween Saturday morning TV. We took our time getting ready because Jen and Rose's flight was supposed to be in by 1PM. We headed out at around 11 and walked down Powell Street to the DSW store. Good lord, that place is huge. I've been in there once before, but its vastness had escaped me. There are four floors of shoes! Yes, I said four floors. And we looked at nearly every shoe in the whole building. I ended up with three pairs and a new wallet (very similar to the one I have-I bought it as a replacement for mine when it is no longer useable). Noelle also got three pairs of shoes. Considering the fact that there were at least 1,000 options in the store, and we each only walked out with three is a miracle. I would have bought more, but that was honestly all I could find that either I liked, or they had in my size. After DSW we walked down to Sephora and checked things out in there. I got a new makeup bag and an eyelash placement kit. I know, I didn't spend $200 in there... another miracle. (We went back on Sunday and I got a replacement bronzer and undereye coverup pencil-but that was it)!
We got word from the girls a little bit earlier that their flight had been delayed so we figured we'd head to the mall and grab some food. We checked out the Kate Spade store but there was nothing exciting in there to even bother looking at. After we ate lunch, we headed up to Nordstrom so I could try and spend my $100 gift certificate I got for graduation. Nordstrom was having it's half-yearly sale and would you believe it, I couldn't find a single pair of shoes to buy! I did find a pair of Ed Hardy sunglasses (keep in mind I've had my eye on these for about two years, before they ever came out and got popular) but I decided $225 was too much to spend for sunglasses considering my current financial situation. Noelle and I wandered around for a while and she found a fabulous pair of Michael Kors sunglasses while I cried inside... just kididng.... but no, really, I want those sunglasses. In the meantime, Rose and Jen had landed and were on their way up to Nordstrom (which just-so-happens to be right next to the BART station).
Ok, I've come to the end of my evening, once again.... so part 3 will continue tomorrow!
